Background of the issue:
I made some new product pages in WooCommerce using the wrong default language. The site is hidden link. I need the default language to be English so that WPML can convert it to other languages.

Symptoms:
The product pages were created in Dutch instead of English, which is causing issues with WPML's language conversion.

Questions:
Is there a way to change the product page language from Dutch to English without removing the page?
Can WPML automatically convert the product pages to other languages after changing the default language to English?

Thank you for contacting WPML support.

If the product has not yet been translated, you can edit it and change its language. A screenshot is attached for your reference.

To change the default language of a page, post, or product that has already been translated, please follow these steps:

1. Disconnect the translated product from the original page by following the instructions in this documentation: https://wpml.org/faq/how-to-disconnect-translations-from-the-default-language-page-or-post/.
2. Reconnect the pages and select the desired language by choosing the option ‘Make [Language] the original language for this page,’ as described in https://wpml.org/faq/how-to-link-already-translated-pages/.

Hi Andrey,

Thanks for your reply,

It doesnt solve my problem, when i go to the original page (Dutch) and then select in the top of the menu 'English' , it says:

You attempted to edit an item that does not exist. Perhaps it was deleted?

Is there any hack to change the Dutch original page to English (Without removing the product), so WPML can translate it to all the other languages?

Thanks!

Thank you for your feedback, Dani.

It might be in the trash. Have you checked? You may need to clear the trash.

If this issue persists, please upload screenshots so I can see your steps.

Hi Andrey,

I still have a problem, i was hoping the 1 that was in the trash was the problem, but unfortunaly. Please see images attached

The count of the products are not the same for each language, the 2 that are in the trash are not the missing ones ( i'm missing 1 at finnish, italian, spanish and swedish)

But when i look at translate woocommerce products (with filter: not translated or need updating), it says that it has no products to translate

How can i know what i'm missing now, without checking each productpage ?

Greest Dani

Thank you for the update, Dani.

As you mentioned, you still have two products in the trash. They may still be linked to the original items. I recommend trying to either restore them or delete them completely.

I also noticed the presence of Drafts and Orphaned content, which may also explain why the filter doesn't display them. If the filter doesn't show the missing products, I suggest checking them more thoroughly.
