[Waiting for user feedback] Error translating Mylisting theme listing type, translation page never loads
This is the technical support forum for WPML - the multilingual WordPress plugin.
Everyone can read, but only WPML clients can post here. WPML team is replying on the forum 6 days per week, 22 hours per day.
WordPress 6.7 has introduced a new issue that impact translations, please update WooCommerce and WPML to the latest versions before you report issues. More about this here - https://wpml.org/errata/php-error-wp-6-7-notice-function-_load_textdomain_just_in_time-was-called/
Background of the issue:
I'm trying to translate a 27collective MyListing theme listing type using WPML. When I click the + icon to translate or edit, the translation page takes forever to load. I've collected videos and debug information to reproduce the bug. I also used ChatGPT to debug the issue, but the conversation is in Spanish.
Here the link with videos and debug info: hidden link
Symptoms:
The translation page never loads when attempting to translate a MyListing theme listing type.
Questions:
Why does the translation page take so long to load when translating MyListing theme listing types?
Is there any documentation on translating listing types for the 27collective MyListing theme?
MyListing theme isn't compatible with WPML to make the content multilingual so you will experience issues when using it. Please follow the documentation https://wpml.org/theme/mylisting/
I suggest you use a theme from our list of compatible themes to build the layout on your site. https://wpml.org/theme/
Hi, is there no way to continue using this theme? its almost impossible for us to rebuild all the site using another theme in terms of amount of work. Is is possible to contract your services to make a adhoc development in order to adapt the plugin and theme specific use case?
If you want to continue using this theme, I would recommend you contact one of our certified partners who will be more than happy to help you with this. In this link, you will find a list of our certified partners: https://wpml.org/contractors/
Also, I suggest you contact the theme/plugin author and ask them to join our Go Global program where our Compatibility developers will help them make their product compatible with WPML. https://wpml.org/documentation/support/go-global-program/
