This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
You need to prevent languages from being displayed in the menu on your site, as you plan to go online with only the first language and add translations later.
Solution:
We recommend hiding the languages temporarily in WPML. You can do this by navigating to WPML > Languages > Hide languages. For more details, visit this documentation. Additionally, as an admin, you can enable the option "Display hidden languages" in your WordPress user profile. This setting allows you as the admin to see the translations on the frontend while keeping them hidden from other users.

If this solution does not apply to your case, or if it seems outdated, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Should you need further assistance, please do not hesitate to open a new support ticket at WPML support forum.

Hello,

You can hide lanaguages at WPML > Languages > Hide languages:
https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/hiding-languages-on-the-front-end/

Further, while beeing logged in as admin user, you can go to your user profile in WordPress and enable the option "Display hidden languages" which will allow the admin to see translation on Frontend while they remain hidden for anyone else.

Best regards
Andreas
