This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
You are using Elementor Pro and WPML to create a bilingual site and need to translate the site footer into French. The English footer has four logos linking to external websites, and you want to modify the number of logos in the French footer.
Solution:
If the layout of the footer differs significantly between languages, we recommend creating separate footer templates for each language. You can learn how to do this by following our guide on Creating Different Elementor Templates per Language with WPML.
If the changes are limited to different icons and external URLs, you can use the following methods:
- For icons, utilize the Media Translation module. More details can be found here: Media Translation.
- For external URLs, use the Advanced Translation Editor to locate and translate the URLs. More information is available here: Translate URLs using the Advanced Translation Editor.

If this solution does not apply to your situation, or if it seems outdated, please check the related known issues at WPML Known Issues, verify the version of the permanent fix, and confirm that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Hi there,

We are using Elementor Pro to build the website and using WPML to make it a bilingual site.
I have these WPML plugins installed: WPML Media Translation, WPML String Translation, WPML Multilingual CMS

I have created the site footer with Elementor Template and now I want to translate it to French.
I am following this documentation on how to translate elementor templates, by using WPML translation management:
https://wpml.org/documentation/plugins-compatibility/elementor/

It works for text content.

On my site, the EN footer has 4 logos and it's linking to external websites.
On the French Footer, say I want to remove or add logos, or say that I want 5 logos (add an extra logo ONLY to the French footer) how can I do that with WPML + Elementor? Do I need to create a separate Footer template instead of translating it?

Thank you!

Hi there,

if the layout is totally different then yes the best way is to create separate templates for each footer. Here is how to do so:

https://wpml.org/documentation/plugins-compatibility/elementor/creating-different-elementor-templates-per-language-with-wpml/

But if it is a matter of different icons and external URLs you can achieve it using the method below:

For the icons use the media translation. For more information:

https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/media-translation/

For the external URLs, you can go to the advanced translation editor and search for the URL there. For more information:

https://wpml.org/faq/how-to-translate-urls-shortcodes-and-html-attributes-using-the-advanced-translation-editor/

Thanks.
