This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
You are experiencing an issue where many string translations have disappeared from your site. This problem occurred without any updates being made initially, but persisted even after updating and scanning for new translations.
Solution:
First, ensure that you update WooCommerce and WPML to the latest versions as a recent issue with WordPress 6.7 could be affecting your translations. You can learn more about this specific issue here: WPML Errata.
Next, go to WPML > Theme and plugins localization and select the option to 'Automatically load the theme's .mo file using

load_textdomain

'. This adjustment has resolved the issue for other clients experiencing similar problems.

If this solution does not apply to your case, or if it seems outdated, we highly recommend checking related known issues at WPML Known Issues, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If issues persist, please open a new support ticket.

Background of the issue:
I am trying to resolve an issue where lots of string translations disappeared on my site hidden link. I did not update anything when the issue started, and it was working fine a while ago. I have updated everything now, scanned plugins and strings for new translations, and tried to translate texts in admin screens, but nothing worked.

In the backend everything seems to be fine

Symptoms:
Lots of string translations disappeared on my site.

Questions:
Why did the string translations disappear on my site?
What steps can I take to restore the missing translations?

Like I said in my first post, I have updated everything, scanned plugins and strings for new translations, and tried to translate texts in admin screens, but nothing worked.

WordPress is on 6.7, wpml is also at it's latest version

Hello,

thanks.

Let me know if it is okay to disable plugins and switch themes to debug further the issue.

Also if possible please provide FTP also in the fields above, so I can check for any errors and missing translation files.

Regards,
Drazen

Hello,

thanks, I managed to solve it.

I have added your theme, and Xstore plugin to next option WPML > Theme and plugins localization > Automatically load the theme's .mo file using 'load_textdomain'

Seems to work fine and the translation is loaded.

Drazen

Seems to work yes, thank you!
I have multiple sites using wpml and xstore theme. Should I do this for all of them?
