[Resolved] Hello, I've been using WPML for some time now and for several sites, and yet I'm still having tro...
This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: The client was experiencing issues with managing media translations in WPML. They wanted to define the language for each media item and associate images between different languages. Additionally, there was a problem with an image not displaying correctly, which was suspected to be related to Elementor's caching feature. Solution: We advised the client to use the WPML Media Translation addon to manage media translations more effectively. This tool allows for the association of different images for different language versions by uploading new images directly if they are not already present in the media library. For the issue with the image not displaying, we recommended clearing the Elementor cache, which resolved the problem. For further details on using the Media Translation addon, visit WPML Media Translation documentation.
If this solution does not apply to your case, or if it seems outdated, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Should you need further assistance, please do not hesitate to open a new support ticket at WPML support forum.
This is the technical support forum for WPML - the multilingual WordPress plugin.

Background of the issue:
I've been using WPML for some time now and for several sites. I'm trying to manage media translation effectively. I want to define the language of each media and associate an image in the native language with another image in the alternative language, which is already uploaded and available in the media manager.
Symptoms:
I'm having trouble managing media translation with WPML.
Questions:
Is it possible to define the language of each media and associate images between different languages?
How do I efficiently associate media between different languages?
I will need to closely examine your website. Therefore, I will require temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) to a test site where the problem has been replicated, if possible. This will enable me to provide better assistance and determine if any configurations need to be modified.
Please note that it is important to have a backup for security purposes and to prevent any potential data loss. You can use the UpdraftPlus plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/updraftplus/) to fulfill your backup requirements.
Your upcoming reply will be treated with confidentiality and will only be visible to you and me.
✙ To resolve the issue, I may need your consent to deactivate and reactivate plugins and the theme, as well as make configuration changes on the site if necessary. This emphasizes the significance of having a backup.
I'm really interested in your audit of the site's WPML configuration.
Unfortunately it's a site in the process of being created that the client is currently reviewing.
I wouldn't want him to have to deal with any disruption caused by your tests.
I'd like to wait a little longer before sending you the connection details you need.
I hope you'll be able to keep this ticket open for a few more days.
I've made a copy of the site and I'd like to give you access so that you can audit its configuration.
Could you tell me how I can give you the login details securely?
The image on this page is not showing or broken here hidden link . Could you check? Also, please share the SVG and PNG versions of the image so that I can test this further.
Yes, I think you've hit the nail on the head.
However, I didn't immediately succeed in displaying the image of the translated language.
In my configuration I had to deactivate the Elementor Features/Element caching option.
My problem is now solved.
I'm sorry, though, that in WPML the translation of media isn't more like that of a post: it seems to me that, rather than having a specialized tool like Media Transalator, you could go directly through the WordPress media manager and have access to the language and translation options directly in the media.
Maybe in future WPML developments.
