This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
How can I configure auto translations to use the German informal "du" instead of formal "sie"?

Solution:
this is only supported by the DeepL translation engine at the moment. Microsoft Azure and Google do not offer us the option of sending this as a parameter via their API.

To change the formality settings for automatic translation, please follow this guide https://wpml.org/faq/how-to-change-formality-for-automatic-translation/

Hi there,
Thanks for contacting WPML support.

Please note that this is only supported by the DeepL translation engine at the moment. Microsoft Azure and Google do not offer us the option of sending this as a parameter via their API.

Thanks Mohamed. That's exactly the explanation I was looking for but somehow couldn't find.
