This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client is experiencing issues with translating Elementor Pro templates using WPML. Translations do not appear when using the WPML translator, and a 503 error occurs when using the WordPress editor.
Solution:
1) Ensure a full site backup is taken.
2) Navigate to WPML>>Settings>>Custom Term Meta Translation.
3) Set the translation preference for the 'orderfield' field to 'Copy' and save the changes.
4) Go to FAQ>>FAQ categorieën in Dutch language, open the FAQ categorieën terms for editing one by one, and resave them.
5) Visit JetEngine>>Query Builder, open the 'FAQ Categorie query' for editing, go to the 'Include/Exclude' tab, add the French FAQ categorieën terms slugs in the name field, and update the query.
6) Check the translated FAQ page on the front end.
Additionally, ensure that the correct template is selected for the French FAQ page from the Elementor screen.

If these steps do not resolve your issue, or if the solution seems outdated or irrelevant to your case, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Hello,

Welcome to the WPML support forum. I will do my best to help you to resolve the issue.

We hope you are using WPML Advanced Translation Editor for translating the posts and pages. Please try the following steps after a site backup and make sure the issue exists or not.

1) Open the template post for edit in the default language
2) Make a minor change in the post and update it (to refresh the translation settings)
3) Visit WPML>>Translation Management Dashboard
4) Choose the template post you want to translate or update the existing translations
5) Send it to Translation Basket
6) Visit WPML>>Translation Management>>Translation Basket
7) Send it for translation, by choosing yourself as a translator
8) Visit WPML>>Translations queue and translate the post by clicking the *Translate* button

This is the actual workflow for translation. Refer to the following articles for more details.

Hi Bigul,

Many thanks for the help. However, i still get an error. I've made a screencast with loom to explain the issue better.

Hello,

Thank you for the details. To make sure, do you want to translate the Elementor Pro templates manually? The WordPress Editor option (manual) is enabled for the template post and you have translated the FAQ posts using WPML Advanced Translation Editor.

If so, visit the Template posts list in Dutch and switch to French via the Dashboard language switcher (of top header), then make sure you can edit the post or not. Refer to the following article and attached image for more details.

Hi Bigul,

As mentioned in the screencast, the French translation don't show up as published. So I cannot edit the post. If I click on the French translation via the pen icon (in the language column) I run into a 503 error.

Wouldn't it be easier if I grant you admin access so that you have a better understanding of the problem?

Kind regards,
Ken

Hi Ken,

Please check the attached image. It looks like the issue is happening because the template translations are in Trash now. Please restore it from Trash after a site backup and make sure the issue exists or not. Refer to the attached images for more details.

Hi Ken,

Thank you for the updates. To make sure, the templates are translated now, but the FAQ posts are not showing the translations in the frontend, am I correct?

If not, please share the Page URLs for further checking.

Hi Bigul,

I did insert the translated templates (sections) inside the main translated FAQ page. However, it seems they don't apply or save. I'm really doing everything by the book. But I really believe there is some kind of bug.
