Hello there,

Thank you for contacting WPML support. I'd be happy to assist you on this issue.

Can you please follow the below steps and see if it helps

- Go to WPML->Strings Translations->Auto Register strings for translations
- Enable the "Look for strings while pages are rendered" option
- Now visit the page on front-end where the string is shown, this will automatically register strings from that page
- Now go to WPML->Strings Translations->Auto Register strings for translations and disable the options
- Search for the strings in WPML->String Translations and translate it

OR

- Go to WPML->String Translations
- At the bottom of the String Translation table, click on “Translate text in admin screens”
- Search for the strings there and see if you can find them.
- If you can find it, select it and add it using the “Add to string translation” button
- Click on “Return to String Translations”
- Translate it

Look forward to your reply.

Thanks

Hello there,

To debug this issue further, I would need to check your site settings once, for this I would need temporary access (wp-admin and ftp) to your site.

So could you please provide me with those details, you will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply.

Hello there,

Your default language is English and you are visiting the page in English itself so the strings is not shown as translated, I translated one product in spanish then checked the issue and it's working for me. hidden link

Can you please check and confirm it?

Look forward to your reply.

Thanks

Hi Shekhar

there is no English version of the website. I just find it easier to do the backend in english.

when I click the Spanish flag. At the top of the website the issue still persists. or you meant that the default language is in the wpml plug-in.

in the case of the peperomia link you sent. there is still the "category". in spanish it should be " categoria".

also the "add to cart" is in english

I had only very specific translation issues, which I anexed in the first post of this thread.

happy new year
thank you for your support!

Hello 🙂

Happy New Year 🙂

If you navigate to hidden link, you'll notice that English is currently set as the default language, with Spanish as the secondary language.

Additionally, at hidden link, all products appear to have been created in English. As a result, when viewing products and pages, all strings are displayed in English by default.

If you'd like to change the site's default language and update the source language for pages to Spanish, you can follow these steps:
1. Go to **WPML -> Languages** and update the default language.
2. Edit one of the products, and in the language metabox, set the language for the product to your preferred choice.

If you want the backend in English while Spanish being the default language, follow the steps as mentioned here: https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/setting-the-wordpress-administration-language/

Regarding the issue, I couldn't replicate it at this URL: hidden link. Could you please check this link and share a screenshot for further investigation?

Looking forward to your response.

Best regards

Hi

Ok, think I'm fixing some things already but Having two versions of the website is kind of confusing me. sometimes i check and problem is fixed other times it isn't because i'm checking the english version and it's not always ovbious to switch from one to the other.

Can i eliminate the english translation in wpml and still do the back end in english using what you explained before?

I set the default language to spanish.

Do I have to translate each products to spanish one by one like in the screenshot or is there a way to do all of them ? (I have no interest to keep an english version of each product.)

about the screenshot you asked me. it's still in english some things. but the description is sometimes in english sometimes in spanish

Hello,

Can I eliminate the English translation in WPML and still manage the backend in English as you explained earlier?

Yes, you can. You can change the original language of the products and then remove English later from **WPML -> Languages**.

Do I have to translate each product to Spanish individually, as shown in the screenshot, or is there a way to do it all at once? (I have no interest in keeping an English version of each product.)

Yes, the changes need to be done individually, one by one.

An alternative option would be to reset WPML and set Spanish as the default language. This would set all the products to Spanish automatically. However, please note that this will erase all translation settings and might result in duplicate contents, so I highly recommend creating a backup before proceeding. You can find more details here: https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/deleting-languages-and-plugin-data-by-doing-a-wpml-reset-on-your-site/.

Let me know if this helps.

Thanks!
