**Issue History:**
I am trying to translate specific pages in Elementor. I have pages in both Portuguese and English. I create the pages in Portuguese first and then in English, but I want specific content in English, such as images and text. I use Elementor for this.

**Symptoms:**
When I edit the English versions, by the end of the day, the page is automatically reverted to Portuguese, undoing all the changes made.

**Questions:**
- Why are the English pages automatically reverting to Portuguese?
- How can I keep the changes made to the English pages without them being reverted?

Hello,

Can you please share example page where this issue happens? As I see you are using WPML editor, but have told before that you edit English page manually. You should not do that, and mix translation methods as it will revert any changes done when you save / update default language.

You should either switch to the WP editor and add content manually or use only the WPML editor. You can not mix and match both.

Ah, yes, hello! How are you? I lost the day because I thought the messages would arrive by email, which is why the delay.

Well, I ran tests on two pages following this issue with the WP Editor: "The Publisher" / "A Editora" and the test page. These have this marked.

Hello,

thanks for getting back.

1) Please make sure to create a backup, before doing any actions, just in case.

Please update your Elementor and WPML plugins to the latest versions.

2) You have first translated these page automatically and then not reviewed them but decide to manually edit the pages, this can cause issues. You should not mix methods.

If you are going to add translations manually by editing the page and adding the content like that, you should not use WPML editors or send pages for automatic translations. For example I see for page "A editora" it was translated by user "pimenta" via WPML editor before. As said you should not mix methods.

3) Enable WP revisions for your case so you can easily revert back if this still happens: https://wordpress.org/documentation/article/revisions/

4) Add Log activity plugin to see what causes this, as it should not happens randomly most likely some user or steps are causing this to revert.

When and if happens let me know and we can check activity log what have caused this.

Make sure to also update to latest WPML and Elementor.

Thanks,
Drazen

Good afternoon, thank you for your response. But in the case of the "Teste" page, the English version of this page was created and already configured as the WORDPRESS EDITOR. It had no previous translation, yet it still reverts when I change the English version.

Another thing, we are unable to update the plugins because we do this at specific intervals. Recently, updates broke our site, so we are waiting for everything to be compatible.

Is the plugin to be installed WP Activity Log?

Hello,

thanks for getting back.

1) Can you confirm issue still happens when using WP default theme and only WPML plugins and Elementor disabled? Please if possible create a staging site and test this.

2) It would be best to update, you can do this on staging site and check if it works fine, since there is no point in fixing an issue with old versions, if it might not happen and is fixed and working fine with latest version.

Let me know if you can test and confirm this out.

Thanks,
Drazen

Hello, how are you? Thank you very much for your effort in helping me with this, Drazen.

We have some logs from the installed plugin for analysis. I translated the page "The Publisher" using Elementor, and it reverted just a moment ago.

1 - Regarding Elementor, would it make sense to disable it for testing? If the idea is to use it for translation.

2 - I understand the update concern, but this is not a consistent pattern—some pages are working fine while others are not. Our current version is 4.6.14, while the latest is 4.6.15, and there is nothing related to Elementor in the documentation.

Hello,

thanks for getting back.

1) Actually latest one is WPML 4.7.2, the notification has not yet gotten to you.

2) As for activity log, I see you have some scripts or similar that are doing changes to default language and translated. Are you maybe running something like that, or server or some corn jobs? Image attached.

If it was only translated post, I would suspect WPML, but I see it is first happening on default language WPML, so not sure what it is.

3) Can you also go to postmeta table and search for _icl_lang_duplicate_of
key.

Let me know.

Thanks,
Drazen

Hello again, how are you?

We use WP Sheets to edit an author post type and WooCommerce products. I checked with them, but they avoided the issue. I still suspect it, but so far, nothing.

In this case, it's only translating some of them; there are pages that are fine.

Hello,

thanks, but I can not say much in your reply, if you find out something more concrete then we can help.

Otherwise best would be to follow up on my last reply.

Hello! How are you?

1 - I recently tested a page in English (the base language) and its translation into Portuguese. However, it reverts to English. The issue is that it always returns to the base page, regardless of the language.

These pages are created using WPML when I click on the "+" icon.

Another detail is that I built this page from scratch, and before creating the translation, I selected the "WordPress Classic Editor."

2 - In the database, which table should I search for and analyze exactly? Should I change anything?

Everything translated with Elementor reverts, and despite the above tips, I am losing hope for a resolution.

Hello,

1) You still have not gotten to me about my last reply:

https://wpml.org/forums/topic/nao-consigo-traduzir-paginas-especificas-em-elementor-sem-que-ela-tenha-sua-traducao-revertida/#post-16833583

2) Does the issue happens after resaving the page in the default language or is it still random?

What is the page name?

Drazen

Hello, how are you?

Regarding your previous answer.

1 - Regarding the update, we won't update because of the problems we had, so it's still out of the question.

2 - I have things running in the background like Wp Sheets, as I said, but it doesn't seem to be it, there's also a cache plugin called 10web Booster.

3 - In the post meta, after identifying the _icl_lang_duplicate_of, do I do something, edit it, delete it?

About the last question.

The error always occurs on pages created with WPML and edited with Elementor. It does not need to be edited, changed or anything like that.

All pages created with the "+" icon and edited with the Elementor editor return to the base page template.
