What do you mean with “renewal”? I understand that renewal means I get updates and support for that renewed year… But what if I choose not to renew my plugin after the year is out, do I get to keep using it?
Exactly – renewals allow you to get support and version updates. If you don’t renew, the older versions that you downloaded already will continue to work unchanged.
We’re trying to work with Headway team, but they seem to be busy on other things (I can see that they have great new developments rolling out). The version that we tested with Headway worked fine, but I am not 100% sure that every single feature is fully covered, or that all new features since our testing are covered.
Would you like to raise this also to Headway support and see when they would have more time to working together with us? As soon as they make time, we will be available to working with them.
“I do not believe the team over at WPML has contacted me at all on this. Please have them email me at grant@headwaythemes.com and we will get with them ASAP.”
Hello, we are testing Jobroller at the moment, and have several languages installed. In WPML, there is an option ‘A different domain per language’. Would this mean that the the database would remain intact, in other words, jobs, that have been distributed in the various language-areas, as well as jobseekers, who have been distributed to the various language-areas?
I’m not sure how Jobroller would work with WPML. I think that the basic things will be OK, but there will probably be some issues with different job properties. The best would be for us to work with Appthemes team and look at these issues together.
We used to have a technical contact in Appthemes, but he left. Our recent attempts to contact Appthemes were not successful. If you are their paying client, can you try to get their interest and a valid technical contact? We will take it from there and review the compatibility together with their team.
I would like to know if your plugin(s) can take the comments from one translation of a post/article and automatically translate them and place them into the other languages of the same post/article. Thus having many languages but maintaining one coherent thread between all the languages. If so, how can I see a demonstration of this working on discover-wp.com. As you tell people to go there to demo the product and I’ve tried. So maybe I’m just missing a menu option somewhere.
WPML used to do that, but since Google’s machine translation API was discontinued, this feature has been disabled. We learned that nobody is willing to spend time or money translating comments and without a way to get good machine translation for comments, this feature isn’t possible.
Hi, I have a question. I am making a multilingual site and would like to have all comments for a post on each of the translations of that post. ie if someone post on the English version it would automatically be translated to Ukrainian and inserted into the Ukrainian translated version of the post, and a Ukrainian post translated and put into the English version of the post. Can your plugin(s) do this?
If so is there a way to see it working (a demo); I’ve tried on discover-wp.com but it dos not allow plugin installs. Or maybe I just missed a menu option.
And how complicated?
About comment translation, like I wrote before, this is disabled in WPML, because Google Translate API was discontinued.
I don’t have demo versions of WPML, but we offer refunds. If you buy WPML and you are not completely happy with it, we will promptly refund your order.
We have been a non-profit organization for 29 years. We are presently updating one of our websites, sine my worked he’d has some probems. pipiionline.com to WordPres. The present website has 16 languages. I sent in a form for the Seven Ray Institute early last week to obtain one for a non-profit organization. When I did not here back I asked here and David Garcia Watkins replied: “Yes, there is currently a queue will soon be put up to date.” I have developers waiting to work on the website. Does it therefore make sense for us to purchase same and then get a refund when the non-profit is confirmed as we need to start work NOW. Thank you. Rick
I’m sorry. In order to shorten the time needed for additional administrative work, our procedure gives you only two options for such cases:
1. to wait for the approval or
2. to buy a license (without the refund option).
Let me check again the status of your request with the responsible people here. I will keep you posted.
I have just purchased the CMS full version – I thought that this plugin translated your web pages like Google Translate but am I correct in thinking that I have to pay to have the pages translated by a third party translator?
Sorry for the misunderstanding. WPML doesn’t translate your content. It allows you to run a WordPress site with content in several languages. You have different options for how to translate the content, but it’s not a machine translation tool.
I tried in comment thread but it was left unanswered so I am submitting it again.
Please respond to this:
Hi David.
Thanks for advise. Unfortunately this plugin Woocommerce Subscriptions cannot be translated by .po files.
As quoted from this plugin faq:
“Translation does not work with the Codestyling Localization plugin but will work with WPML.”
Please check yourself on: http://docs.woothemes.com/document/subscriptions/faq/
Chapter 32
Rest is translated by Codestyling Localization but this particular plugin must be translated by WPML.
I am just not sure which one I need and how can I do this since I don’t want to have two languages.
Hey, I purchased the multilingual CMS version of WPML, I never received a confirmation e-mail, so I tried to reset my account password, I reset password but when I access our account we don’t have any available downloads. We have a registration number and an inovice, please let me now what should we do!
If you received an email from PayPal or 2checkout, paste it there. Otherwise, you can give us your full name and the email that you used to buy and we will look up your account.
I’m building a website for a client and need a multi-lingual theme. Since it’s hard to find one that fits with what I need to do, I’d be interested in buying your plugin. However, I want to know: do I need to write the translation myself, or if you use Google translate or something else? If I want to write (and customize) the content in both languages myself, is it something possible?
WPML lets you add languages to WordPress sites. It doesn’t do machine translation, but includes advanced translation tools that let you translate yourself. You can translate yourself or let your client(s) translate their content.
Let’s say English is the default language. Does that mean that each translation needs to have an English parent or can different language versions exist on their own?
Secondly, does WPML have multilingual url support or are urls just in English?
Finally, does WPML redirect based on browser language setting?
You can create independent content in each language OR translate content. It’s up to you. If you have some English content, you can add translations to other languages. You can also create content that will appear only in other languages.
The ugly URL will look much nicer in the browser, when you click on that link. This is how browsers and web servers encode URLs with non-English characters.
Hi, do I have to buy the plugin every time I create a new website or can I use the plugin on all future websites I create if I buy the lifetime version?
You only need to buy WPML once and you can use it for all your sites and sites that you create for your clients. The Lifetime account ($195) gives you lifetime support and upgrades. Yearly accounts ($79) give you support and upgrades for one year. You can renew yearly accounts for $39/year.
Thank you. I think it’s very expensive, but I have to be sure on the updates to each WP version and translate don’t do that. I will try it out. Thanks.
I just ordered my Multilingual CMS copy but i accidentally filled in the wrong email adres on ordering. Now I can’t receive the login information to download the product and print the invoice.
Hope somebody can help me with this problem. I cannot find the solution to this problem anywhere on the support page etc. My invoicenumber is the following: #428356 and I ordered the product today.
Can you please let me know if the plugin will allow me to use this wordpress theme (http://theme.crumina.net/ – second touch theme) for Vietnamese and Japanese languages?
Hi,
I’m currently trying to purchase this plugin, and am having trouble when I reach the credit card section. It says “Failed to authorize: Do Not Honor” when I submit my credit card information. It’s all correctly inputted – and I have used this card to purchase many things online.
Any advice? It’s imperative I purchase this today,
Thank you
Hi,
thanks for your question.
Yes, you can see WPML in action when you create your test site with this service: http://discover-wp.com/
You will be able to set different sites there. Choose Bootstrap Real estate or Bootstrap commerce – they both use WPML.
Besides we have Refunds Policy for WPML.
> I am NOT tech savvy at all, do I need to be in order to use wpml?
You don’t have to be tech savvy to translate your pages and posts. That’s easy. Our support team will help you to with other WordPress elements.
Hi Ankish, thanks for your question.
Generally the rule is that every theme that uses WordPress API runs multilingual with WPML. However not all theme authors follow the good pracities and besides some themes have are provided with more complex functionality and require special adjustments.
How can you check your theme compatibility with WPML:
1. Check if it is listed in our theme compatibility page
2. Google your theme name combined with WPML keyword
3. If you already bought your WPML and your theme (or it’s free) you this tool might also be handy.
4. Ask theme authors directly.
Hi Luka,
you buy one WPML license and you can use it for all the sites you build for your customers. Your customers don’t have to buy it. Only you. And only one WPML license for all your sites is enough. That’s cool, isn’t it? 🙂
We are an non profit organization, helping NGOs through the whole world, and our question was that if we want to buy the WPML, what the conditions are for non-profit. Is there a different arrangement?
Hello,
if you are a non profit organization, you can get your WPML license for free.
It would be great if you could keep WPML’s credit footer in your site, but that’s entirely up to you.
More details here: http://wpml.org/purchase/non-profits/
We work with theme authors to check compatibility and handle any problems. Most themes that we review work fine with WPML, without having to change anything. We can review themes that are distributed, either free or paid. Hey there,
i decided to purchase WPML because it says that WPML is compatible with Headway 3 on this page:

But now i find a fresh thread in your support forum that seems to contradict!!

Many WordPress themes work great with WPML. For your convenience, we summarized themes that we have tested here:
http://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/
WPML lets you add languages to WordPress sites. It doesn’t do machine translation, but includes advanced translation tools that let you translate yourself. You can translate yourself or let your client(s) translate their content.

You can create independent content in each language OR translate content. It’s up to you. If you have some English content, you can add translations to other languages. You can also create content that will appear only in other languages.
WPML support any URLs in any language. For example, have a look at a Russian page in our site:
http://wpml.org/ru/%D0%B4%D0%BE%D0%BA%D1%83%D0%BC%D0%B5%D0%BD%D1%82%D0%B0%D1%86%D0%B8%D1%8F/
The ugly URL will look much nicer in the browser, when you click on that link. This is how browsers and web servers encode URLs with non-English characters.
Yes, WPML includes browser language detection and can redirect visitors to content in their language:
http://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/automatic-redirect-based-on-browser-language/
Does this help?
Yes, this is perfect. Thanks for the reply Amir!

Hi,
I bought the Multilingual CMS on 30-05-14 and planning on upgrading to lifetime updates in the future.
For now I am testing it but like it very much and will need it for future client websites.
Is there a time limite to benefit the discount or can I upgrade even lets say after 7 months or so and still only pay the difference?
Thx,
Annie
Hello,
thank you for your question.
Yes, exactly. You will be able to it for all the duration of your CMS license.

Yes, WPML does this. You can either translate content to different languages, or you can write independent content for each language.
You can write separate content in English and in French. When visiting French content, the navigation will only show other French pages and posts.
If you want, you can translate some of the content between languages, but this is up to you. You can also write all ‘independent’ content.
Dear Support team,
I am writing to ask if its possible to fully translate the website http://ksqca.aman-tech.com/ in English, Arabic and Kurdish? does your plugin support Kurdish? and can I try a demo or something before purchasing the website, as I need to translate every thing, even change the site orientation from Right To Left for Arabic and Kurdish? is this possible? and to translate all plugins, slideshows, adding custom images in different languages?
