Hi there,
We are running Woocommerce on our WordPress installation.
First question, we want to be able to run 3 different domain names of the same content using TLD variants, my understanding is that this plugin can support that?
For example, can the URLS replicate this:
domain.com/blog
domain.co.nz/blog
domain.com.au/blog
Q2: Will Woocommerce work fine across the various domain names (incl paypal callhome) and will they still function under their own domain name
If you plan on having the WordPress site at the root URL and ‘blog’ directories for blog posts, it will work fine (as you describe). Having WordPress in a ‘blog’ folder, and have languages in different domains, will not work with WPML. You can either have language in domains and the site in the root, or have WordPress installed in a folder and have languages in virtual sub-folders under it.
2. If you place the WordPress site in the root of these different domains, WPML and WooCommerce will work fine. As in your example, you will have domain.com/shop/ and domain.co.nz/shop/. You can also have a different folder name than ‘shop’ in different languages, such as domain.es/compra/.
I manage the WordPress site for an international company. We are very interested to WPML plug-in but we need to try it first. Is it possible to have a Free Trial of it?
Yes, you can see WPML in action when you create your test site with this service: http://discover-wp.com/
You will be able to choose/set different sites there. Choose Bootstrap Real estate or Bootstrap commerce – they both use WPML.
Besides we have Refunds Policy for WPML.
If you buy WPML and you are not completely happy with it, we will promptly refund your order.
Hi!
Not completely. Besides ACF team is going to make a major upgrade and our compatibility team is waiting for this to proceed with the WPML-ACF compatibility.
Hello,
I’m not your client yet, but I’m interested in “Multilingual CMS Lifetime”.
I have a pre-sale question though.
I’m going to buy a responsive theme for my client, in which I’d like to use WPML. The developer informed me that their theme is compatible with your plugin but I might need to modify theme CSS code if I want to use the language switcher.
I need the country flags options at the bottom of the page or next to menu. Additionally it shouldn’t be hidden when someone visits the site from a tablet/smartphone (responsive mode).
Do you think that you could help me with that? Or is it something that I should ask from the developer?
Hi Alice,
1. you can easily add your language switcher to the footer or to a sidebar widget without any custome coding
2. if you want to include your switcher into the main navigation menu, yes, some custom coding will be needed. It is desribed here: http://wpml.org/tutorials/language-switchers/
Hi, just tried to buy WPML CMS and the transaction on paypal does not work. Paypal is telling me that this invoice has already been payed. I have tried four times and the same problem repeats.
Great looking plugin, I have a few questions if I may…
1. Is this plugin compatible with KingSize WP theme?
2. Can this plugin be added to a homepage that runs a full screen slider?
3. Could I run this plugin within the Foobar plugin?
Hi, thanks for the quick reply, Regarding point 2. On the homepage there in an image slider and I want to make sure there is a way to get the language selection on the homepage. If you wouldn’t mind taking a quick look at the site and then perhaps send an example of how it may look that would be great. Thanks in advance
I currently have a website to lease vacation homes.
Now I want to add multi language support, I’ve tried some other plugins to translate and encountered some issues.
I’m using the templatic booking plugin to manage the leasing.
I’ve read some of your documentation and support post and i’m not quite sure if the plugin is fully supported by wpml.
With other plugins I had the issue that a every paged needed to be translated and it gave problems with the vacation homes, I had to create a vacation home for every language and that caused problems because people could possibly rent an English house and someone else could rent a German house on the same date. I tried to link every menu to the page from the English house and it caused the menu to become English as well.
Also things like emails should also be translated. Can I use multi language with wpml and templatic booking or will this be a problem and do I need to change code manually?
Classifieds themes typically are pretty complex and if they are to work correctly in multilingual sites, they need to be designed for that. We haven’t tested this Templatic theme with WPML, so I can’t say it will work smoothly. From knowing the inherent complexity of it, I estimate that some problems will arise.
There are some options for you:
1. Encourage Templatic authors to fully test the theme with WPML. They have an account for WPML and we can help if needed. This will require their time and I don’t know what their schedule is.
2. Hire a freelancer to do these modifications for you. This is doable, but then any edits that you or the freelancer do on the theme will be lost on every theme update. If ALL modifications can be done as a child theme, it will be OK. If modifications are needed on the core files, updates will be very problematic. You can find excellent contractors here: http://wpml.org/documentation/support/wpml-contractors/
It works smoothly with WPML. I don’t know how your requirements map to our reference design. If this is relevant for you, we can look together at your requirements and give you a more complete reply.
We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. We need to make our site multilingual in Arabic, French, and Somali — is this possible using the complimentary WPML plugin that you offer to nonprofit organizations? If so, can you confirm that the WPML plugin is accurate for these three languages?
WPML works fine with these languages. If you are a registered 501(c)3 non-profit, you can submit a request here: http://wpml.org/purchase/non-profits/
We have a queue of about 2-3 weeks there. We do our best to go through it, but our resources are limited. Eventually, we review and respond to every request.
I’d like to make a multilingual site in which some posts are in farsi and others in english (without translating or flipping languages). Is this possible with this plugin?
WPML allows you to display either ‘translated only’ or ‘all’ blog posts, in each language. So, if you want, you can choose to display only posts in the current language. Alternatively, you can display all posts, if they are translated or not.
Is it possible to import content in different languages using a custom import method? I mean, I have HTML files for each page and each language, the markup of this HTML is not standard, so I’ve created a custom import method via PHP. But, I would like to know if is it possible to upload other languages in WPML automatically for example doing some specific database query?
Yes, it’s possible. If you are writing your own import script in PHP, you can also add the language information and translation relationship to imported content.
Just q quick question.
I want to buy your plugin with lifetime license, but I don’t have enough money at this moment. Only for 1 year one. The thing is my client is paying me by parts every two weeks. So I could afford to pay for it in next two weeks. But I need to continue fill up with content a website.
Perhaps is that possible if I pay now for one year license and then in next two weeks pay more the difference for the lifetime license? Is that’s not too much to ask it would be very helpful!.
Yes, you can do this. You can buy a yearly account now ($79) and upgrade to a Lifetime account later. The upgrade will cost you exactly the difference between the two account types ($116), so you don’t lose anything on the way.
I believe the answer to my next question is that the plugin does not perform translations from English to for example Arabic and Somali in perfect dialect. Rather we are responsible for translating English to Arabic and Somali and we load that translated language into WPML?
Yes, you can use Arabic and Somali with WPML. Somali is not pre-configured, but this is not a problem. You can add it via WPML->Languages->Edit languages.
Please note that WPML does not translate your content. It allows you to write content in several languages, but it doesn’t automatically translate content for you.
I am considering the option of purchasing the plug-in. If I purchase the Multilingual Blog, can I upgrade it later to Multilingual CMS or Lifetime? what would be the cost and how?
Hi Santiago,
yes, you can upgrade it to Multilingual CMS or Lifetime later, anytime. You only pay the difference. You should be able to upgrade to CMS from your account. In the right side, you should see a link for that.
I am looking at WPML for my new global company site. My question is, can WPML do the following:
One domain, but push the customer to the customers country /uk/ e.t.c /de/ section. Then the lanuage will display for that country. If not detected, goto domain.com (English) (default).
Hi,
yes, WPML let you set an option which willl redirect your user to diffrent language version depending on his/her language set in his/her browser. Yes, if there is no match the user is redirected to the main domain. It works for all the languages you set.
But I really wanted to know if it can do it this way. Push the customer to /uk/ if the customer is from the UK, or /de/ if the customer is from Germany. I know it can do the lanuages, but need it only based on country.
I am currently creating a wordpress theme to be sold on Envato’s Themeforest, Is there anyway I can pay like an extended licences where WPML can be included in every theme I sell??
Hi Jake,
Thanks for your question. No, sorry, our policy doesn’t allow it. You can join our compatibility program and then advertise that your theme is WPML fully compatible but you cannot inlude WPML in your theme. http://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/
Please can you help urgently…we just purchased the Multilingual CMS for life WPML plugin for wordpress, however the setup email address was mistyped, so the details have gone to an incorrect email which doesn’t exist and we cannot see. (Please see invoice details below).

Please can you either a) change the email address to the correct one and send the correct password or b) please refund/ cancel the payment and send confirmation to REMOVED. 1. You can display languages in different domains with WPML. You a look here for the Apache and DNS setup:

Hi!
Is WPML compatible with Advanced Custom Field plugin (advancedcustomfield.com) ?
Thanks,

Hi!
Not completely. Besides ACF team is going to make a major upgrade and our compatibility team is waiting for this to proceed with the WPML-ACF compatibility.
Please try out https://toolset.com/home/types-manage-post-types-taxonomy-and-custom-fields/ plugin. This one provides similar functionality, is free and was builf by the people from our company and it’s WPML fully compatible.
Dear Sir,
I lost my copy of WPML, please let me know how to re-download the file.

Hi Atef, you can still use WPML but you will not have access to upgrades and our support forum.

1. Is this plugin compatible with KingSize WP theme?
2. Can this plugin be added to a homepage that runs a full screen slider?
3. Could I run this plugin within the Foobar plugin?
Thanks for your support in advance.
Kind regards
Hi Paul,
ad. 1. yes, please see: http://wpml.org/theme/king-size/
ad. 2. it depends on how the slider is implemented, but in general you should be able to translate the slides with WPML
ad. 3. we don’t have this plugin in our plugin compatibility list, but I found this: http://codecanyon.net/item/foobar-wordpress-notification-bars/411466/comments?page=39 (search for WPML keyword)

This page explains how WPML’s language tables work:

You will need to add an entry to icl_translations for every post that you import. It will set the language and connection to translated content.

If the language you need is not present in WPML default list, you can always add it manually.
