Ok, as webdeveloper I can’t sell it, but I can charge clients for instalation of the plugin and adjustment, right? Do you provide any license key what I need to use for websites? and should I use the same key on every different website? Thank you again!
We are looking at WPML for at clients website, but unfamiliar with the plugin, so her’s a few questions.
1. If we as a try out buys the cheapest possible version, can we then afterwards up grade to the full version (195$) without loosing the initial cost?
2. We need to have main language and 4 sub languages, but can we make the logo-link-to-homepage pointing to the frontpage of each language (sorry if this is elementary, but we have never worked with the plugin and dont know how it is build)
3. Can we fully translate menus to the five languages need?
Hi,
thanks for your interest in WPML and your questions. Here are my answers:
1. Yes, you can always upgrade and you will pay only the difference. You will see relevant links in your WPML account.
2. Yes, this is possible with WPML.
3. Yes, you can.
Here are some example sites done with WPML and submitted by our customers: http://wpml.org/showcase/
I need to know if the Plugin “Multilingual CMS The complete solution for multilingual websites with WordPress” can be used on multiple sites and multisite wordpress installation ?
I would like to test the wpml plugin to see:
1/ if it works with the theme,
2/ so I can make an estimate of how much i will have with the integration, etc.
I copied the entire site to my server http://www.scorpion.be/showcase/Pinpoint
Is there a way for me to try the plugin on that test location, before purchasing?
I’m looking for a multilingual plugin that doesn’t create menu links to non-translated pages — that is, if a page isn’t available in a certain language, then it shouldn’t show up in the menu at all, if that language is selected (the current plugin we use creates a link to an empty page). How does Wpml handle this situation?
WPML supports it.
In WPML Settings you will see:
How to handle languages without translation
Some pages or posts may not be translated to all languages. Select how the language selector should behave in case translation is missing.

I want to purchase your nice plugin however I need to know the following:
1. I want to use the plugin to translate a website so the translation will be shown in the website for the end user only (not in the admin panel). Do I need to purchase the blog or the CMS licence?
2. I want the website to support English as a main language and Arabia as a second language. In this case the rtl.css must be loaded when the user change the website’s language to Arabic. Can I do that using WPML?
3. Can I show the language switcher in the top of the website (above the main menu) ?
Hello, thanks for your interest in WPML.
1. You can set different language for your front-end and for your back-end. In blog version you will be limited with some features. Company websites usually include more custom elements like: sliders, testimonials, etc. To translate them you will need a separate module called “String translation” which is only available in CMS version. Besides if your theme uses many so called ‘theme options’ it’s good to check in advance if it’s WPML compatible.
If you want to translate only:
– posts
– pages
– categories/tags
– menu
Blog version is enough and it will work fine with your theme.
I am planning to buy the AVADA theme. Can I use wpml with this theme easily. Will there be alot of issues for me to resolve if I use wpml with this theme. I am asking because I am not a technical person. If it is difficult, then I will have to look for other themes to buy. Thanks.
Hi – we have the Avada theme and are looking at buying WPML CMS. Our WordPress installation is in English, but the supprt thread on Theme Fusion refers to having to use and Arabic version of WordPress to support RTL: http://theme-fusion.com/avada-doc/special-features/translation-rtl/
Can you confirm that this only applies if you wish to author the text in an RTL language (which we do not need – all content will be written in English and translated by WPML).
Hi Steve,
I’m not sure if I can understand your question. It is you who provides translations. WPML doesn’t translate anything automatically. What exactly would you like me to confirm?
Hi,
Do you still do free licenses for not-for-profit organizations? i have requested one twice over the last few months and never gotten a response. We are a Canadian not-for-profit working on climate change. Does that fit your profile for free licenses?
Thanks
My organization used to have a free license for the old version of WPML Multilingual CMS. I am working on upgrading our website and need to download/install the current version of WPML. However, when I login to my account I see “no active subscriptions” and nothing under “Your downloads”, so I assumed our free not-for-profit subscription had expired or was only valid for a previous version.
Hence, I had applied for a new free license through your website twice in the last few months but never received a response. Therefore, I was now wondering if you are still doing this free licenses for not-for-profit organizations programme and what I need to do to get a new free license for the current version of WPML Multilingual CMS.
Thanks for the details. Yes, we still do free licenses for non-profit. We are going to check your case in our system and we will contact you with details.

Hi James,
you can set up individual products with the relevant price for their currency with WooCommerce Multilingual but currently we are not compatible with Paypal Pro. Yet we contacted the plugin author because lots of users ask for it. I’m not sure if I can understand your first question but you can see WooCommerce Multilingual in action, both from front-end perspective http://ref.wp-types.com/bootcommerce/
and WP admin as well.
To see it from WP admin please go to this site: http://discover-wp.com/
and choose one of these:

a site will be created for you for free.
This is used for our Toolset plugins (we are also the authors of Toolset pugins.) but I’m sure it will have you to understand how WPML and WooCommerce work together.
Hi There,
I am thinking about building a multilingual blog on wordpress.com. Can I use WPML on wordpress.com or is it only compatible to wordpress.org?
If I just get the most basic $29/year multilingual blog package from you, will I still be able to do my own translation for the entries using your plugin? Please advise.
I’m working for a company blog that is in French. We would like to translate it in English and Spanish. WPML seems like a good fit but I have some questions to make sure of it:
1- If I don’t translate a post in English, will it appear in the “English Version” of the blog?
2- Can I write a post only in English and make it appear in the “English Version” of the blog and not in the French and Spanish Version?
Yes, WPML supports it.
In WPML Settings you will see:
How to handle languages without translation
Some pages or posts may not be translated to all languages. Select how the language selector should behave in case translation is missing.

Payments appear to be coming in normally today. You can buy WPML using PayPal and 2checkout. You select the payment processor in the purchase page. Are both giving you the same trouble?
WPML uses different posts for translations. This way, you can include different images (including the featured image) per language. For the same reasons, comments will be separated between languages. Comments left in one language will not be displayed on other languages.
You can display a different logo for the site for different languages. In many themes, this will work ‘out of the box’. In some themes, you will need a tiny edit in the theme code to do that.
Greetings.
I want to buy the WPML Plugin (still unsure if CMS Lifelong or CMS Yearly).
I’m a freelancer Web Designer / Developer with various clients, each client has their own server and domains.
I do know I can’t resell the plugin, however I will only be charging the setup.
I’ve read similar questions but none got the exact answer I wanted.
1. Can I buy the CMS Licence (Either Lifelong or Yearly) and use the Plugin on Various Clients Websites? (Different Clients, not only different sites on the same client)
2. If Yes to the above question, can I update each client WPML installation?
1. Yes, you can install WPML on your different client sites.
2. Yes, each of these installations will receive automated updates. These updates require that your account remain valid. If you buy a Lifetime account, you and your clients will get updates for life. Otherwise, you need to renew every year. Renewals cost $39 / year.
About updates for client sites – you control for which domains there are automated updates. Your clients cannot ‘steal’ your account and install in other sites and receive these updates from your account.

Hi Folks,
We have having a number of difficulties when exporting web post and pages which have been assigned for translation from the Translation Queue menu.
Issue 1: when performing a mass export, if you select more than 19 files, the export will fail as the exported zip folder will not contain any XLIFF files. Yet if you select 19 items to be exported, this will be successful.
Issue 2: After exporting, the display page automatically defaults to page 1. This is not ideal since if you are working in the middle of a series, you would then need to navigate back to the relevant display page each time.
Issue 3: This is a feature request to resolve the issue.
Would it be possible to add a feature to perform an “export all” files?
Alternatively, show all documents would be handy.
How about adding new filter so that one can specify a specific range of Job ID to view?
Thanks,
Simon

I am trying to pay for the Multilingual CMS using my credit card with your paypal portal but it keeps declining my card. I called the credit card company and they haven’t put any blocks on my card so there is something going on with your credit card processing. Please email me and let me know what we can do to resolve the issue.
Hi George. We offer 2 payment processors – PayPal and 2checkout. Sometimes, one of these rejects payments from people, due to their internal algorithms. If that happens, it’s best to choose the other payment processor and pay with it. Both PayPal and 2checkout allow payments with credit cards without having an account.
Now we want to create a Blog which should look like this:
example.com/en/blog
example.com/de/blog
example.com/es/blog
Will this be possible with WPML? I wasn’t able to find a similar case. Would it be possible to set WPML to different Domains and instead of domains I would insert the different language versions(e.g.example.com/de/blog and having example.com/de/blog as root) ?
Hey,
yes, this is possible. Steps:
1. In your site main language create a page called ‘blog’.
2. Translate it to other languages, you can call them blog as well (WPML supports the same slugs)
3. Goto Settings->Reading in your WP admin. In the ‘Front page displays’ section choose ‘ A static page (select below)’ and for the ‘Posts page’ select Blog page you created in step 1.
Save changes
> Would it be possible to set WPML to different Domains and instead of domains I would insert the different language versions
You mean domains with totally different names for each language, like boat.en and boot.de? Yes, this is also possible with WPML and domain mapping plugin but more challenging.
Yes, WPML supports all these languages. It does not come with Swahili pre-configured, but this is not a problem. You can easily add it yourself using WPML’s GUI. Go to WPML->Languages and enter the details of Swahili. Then, you can use it for your content.
I am very interested in WPML plugin, and I want to use it instead of qTranslate for many reasons !
But I have firstly a question about permalinks :
If I have a post/Page in two languages, and everyone has a different name : the default language is Ducth (NL), and the second language is English(EN)
Can I specify the permalink for every page according to the selected language ??
Because now I use qTranslate and it shows the same permalink for both languages .
Hello I have made a website for my client based on the hiker theme with a booking plugin that are not wpml compatible.
Is there a solution or can I hire you to make the theme compatible?
And then I could buy the plugin and make the theme multilingual.
Regards,
Korina Papadopoulou.
Theme and plugin compatibility might be an issue depending on individual circumstances. The more complex functionality a theme or a plugin provides the more challenging it can be to make it WPML fully compatible. What is the name of your booking plugin? Does it say it’s WPML compatible? Can you see it in our compatibility list? You can hire a WPML consultant to do some custom work for you http://wpml.org/documentation/support/wpml-contractors/
but plugin compatibility can be a challenge for complex plugins.
Hello, I am considering using WPML but it’s too expensive for my small-scale project. I have found several wordpress plugin markets offering “WPML Plugin Bundle” for advantageous prices, i.e. sozot.com. Is it ok if I buy WPML from there? Are there any differences from your official subscription?
WPML comes with GPL license, so people can almost legally do that. Yet, we have a legal trademark for the term WPML and graphics. This means that if anyone things about re-distributing WPML, they first need to rename everywhere we use our name and display our graphics. This practically means that it’s not possible to redistribute our work.
The WordPress foundation had set this good standard and many other commercial authors are using this method.
When you buy your WPML subscription you will be able to ask question in our support forum and will have access to future updates.
Ok, as webdeveloper I can’t sell it, but I can charge clients for instalation of the plugin and adjustment, right? Do you provide any license key what I need to use for websites? and should I use the same key on every different website? Thank you again!
I am talking about Multilingual CMS Lifetime
Sure, you can charge your clients for installation and other services related. About the key. Yes, we provide it now but this was introduced recently, you can read more in this article:

You mean domains with totally different names for each language, like boat.en and boot.de? Yes, this is also possible with WPML and domain mapping plugin but more challenging.
Thanks for the answer.
I’ll check out your plugin!!!
I need to make a site that uses English, Swahili and Hindi. Will this plugin support all of these languages?
Yes, WPML supports all these languages. It does not come with Swahili pre-configured, but this is not a problem. You can easily add it yourself using WPML’s GUI. Go to WPML->Languages and enter the details of Swahili. Then, you can use it for your content.
Hello ,
I am very interested in WPML plugin, and I want to use it instead of qTranslate for many reasons !
This is what I now have :
http://www.XXXXX.com/ogenlaseren/
http://www.XXXXX.com/en/ogenlaseren/
What I want is like this :
http://www.XXXXX.com/ogenlaseren/
http://www.XXXXX.com/en/eyelaser/
Another question :
Can I use the same license for many websites?? I am interested in ” Multilingual CMS Lifetime ” 🙂
Thanks already for your answer !
Kind Regards,
Peshmerge
Hello,
thanks for your interest in WPML.
Yes, this is possible with WPML.
Yes, you can use one WPML licese for all the sites you are building for yourself or your customers.
There is also a plugin which allows you to move automatically from qTransalte to WPML:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/qtranslate-to-wpml-export/
http://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/qtranslate-importer/
Thanks for your reply !

Hello I have made a website for my client based on the hiker theme with a booking plugin that are not wpml compatible.
Is there a solution or can I hire you to make the theme compatible?
And then I could buy the plugin and make the theme multilingual.
Regards,
Korina Papadopoulou.
Any answer to my question?can your team make the the theme compatible for wpml for a price?
Regards,Korina papadopoulou
I’m sorry our team doesn’t provide any custom work. But you can check it with our WPML consultants:
http://wpml.org/documentation/support/wpml-contractors/
Theme and plugin compatibility might be an issue depending on individual circumstances. The more complex functionality a theme or a plugin provides the more challenging it can be to make it WPML fully compatible. What is the name of your booking plugin? Does it say it’s WPML compatible? Can you see it in our compatibility list? You can hire a WPML consultant to do some custom work for you
http://wpml.org/documentation/support/wpml-contractors/
but plugin compatibility can be a challenge for complex plugins.
Thank you!
Tomas
WPML comes with GPL license, so people can almost legally do that. Yet, we have a legal trademark for the term WPML and graphics. This means that if anyone things about re-distributing WPML, they first need to rename everywhere we use our name and display our graphics. This practically means that it’s not possible to redistribute our work.
The WordPress foundation had set this good standard and many other commercial authors are using this method.
When you buy your WPML subscription you will be able to ask question in our support forum and will have access to future updates.
