  1. Hi,

I’ve a WordPress site with some custom post types and custom fields created using WP Types. WP Types description mentions that all fields created using WP Types supports translations.

    Here are my questions:
    1. Does WPML work with custom post type as well?
    2. My site is not E-Commerce site, can I still use WPML?

    Thanks,
    Yogesh

  2. Hello, I need to pay by bank transfer. Can you send me an invoice?

    Thank you for help.

    • We don’t process bank transfers directly. PayPal offers to pay using a bank transfer, but this requires setting up a PayPal account. Does this help?

  5. Hi,
    Looking into purchasing this plugin.

Was wondering if the GPL license applies to the purchased module? It seems weird to me that a premium plugin that has a cost would be under GPL.

    Thanks

    • WPML comes with GPL license and is also trademarked. If you buy WPML, you can use it on all your sites and sites that you build for your clients. You can register all these sites to receive automatic updates for new versions.

You cannot redistribute WPML, as this would violate our trademark.

      Does this help?

  6. No live Demo anywhere? I really want ot see how this works before I commit, and the demo video just doesn’t answer enough questions.

    • Sorry, but we don’t have a live-demo system. We do offer 30-days unconditional refunds. If you buy WPML and you’re not 100% happy, tell us and we will refund your order.

  7. Hello,
What I read and saw, that looks perfect.
My question is, if WordPress Multilanguage plugin will work with Business Directory Plugin.
Thank you very much for your answer, it is important for me to know it, before I buy Business Directory Plugin and also your plugin.

    • I think I’ve found it. Have you experiences with support that? …I mean, if I will run in to a troubles, if you can help me 🙂
      Thanks for answer

    • Are you referring to this plugin?
      https://wordpress.org/plugins/business-directory-plugin/

I don’t think that we’ve tested it with WPML. Generally speaking, if the plugin uses custom post types for the entries, it should run fine with WPML. Of course our support people will be happy to help. We have a compatibility team, which can work together with the author of Business Directory. If the other author is interested, I suggest to refer them to our Go Global program:
      https://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/go-global-program/

Our compatibility team will work with the author of any theme and plugin to check compatibility and make any necessary steps to achieve it.

      • Hello,
thank you for your answer, that sounds great.
        …for sure I will do.
I will do theme for my site by myself, so theme could be done as I need and also as it should be.
I will try to contact developer of Business Directory Plugin to check it.
Thank you 50% of my problem looks solvable 🙂

  8. Hi!

Last year I use WPML in an outsourced project. I loved it. Nowadays I have a client that need his blog in an alternate language. Here’s the thing: It is possible to have posts just in the second language AND NOT in the primary?

Primary language of my client is german, and they want to create a version of almost all the posts in spanish. BUT there will be a few posts in spanish that would not have german original version. Is that possible?

    Thank you, guys.

    • Sure. When you write a post, you can choose its language. You can write content in any language, unrelated to translations. If you decide later to translate these posts to the site’s default language, that’s fine too.

  9. Hi! I’m interested to buy the life time WPML – Plugin for our new website. Our business is in the Canary Islands and this is a tax free zone. In your orderform I can only choose “Spain” like my Country. And you always charge the tax (VAT). But this is not correct. The envato company where I buy the book your travel theme refund the tax after buying and sending the invoice. Is this possible with your company, too?

    Thank you. Best regards. Marion

  10. Hi guys,

I was directed to you by a theme company.

I think I’m a little confused about something:
Let’s say I have a website in English and I want it to be translated into Spanish, French and Italian – would I have to translate every part of the website myself? Or does your software translate it for me?

    Kind regards,
    Adam

    • Hi Adam,
WPML doesn’t translate your contents automatically. WPML provides you with an interface to add translations for your posts/pages and other WordPress elements but you insert the translations yourself. You can also use professional translation services (WPML supports it but these are paid).

For example WPML is integrated with ICanLocalize service
      http://www.icanlocalize.com/site/services/wordpress-translation/

This service is a part of the same company, I mean the authors of WPML. Soon more external companies will join to provide translations.

Google can penalize you for automated translations and this is why we don’t support them either.
      I hope it helps.

    • Hi Mark,
in general yes but there are some known issues. Our compatibility team has suggested fixes to the author. You can give it a try and test it. You can buy WPML and test it for 30 days. You can use our support forum in that time. If it turns out that WPML doesn’t satisfy your needs, we will give your money back.
      https://wpml.org/purchase/refunds-policy/

Please note that you can use one WPML license for all your projects and sites.

  11. Hello,
Is it possible to purchase CMS version and after e.g. a year upgrade to CMS lifetime?

    Regards,
    Tadeusz

    • Hi Wouter,
some WooCommerce plugins are WPML compatible and you can find them listed here:
      https://wpml.org/documentation/plugins-compatibility/
      (scroll down to WooCOmmerce)

you can also take a look at this page:
      https://wpml.org/developer/woothemes/
it displays plugins by WooThemes only

However your plugin in not on that list which means it wasn’t tested by our team. I will notify Our Compatibility team that there is such a need but it will take time to test it (and make it compatible if needed).

      What you can do now:
      1. You can buy WPML and test it yourself. If it doesn’t satisfy your needs, please let us know and we will give your money back. But you have to do it within 30 days:
      https://wpml.org/purchase/refunds-policy/
Please note that you can use WPML for all your sites so even if it won’t work with this plugin maybe you can use it for other sites you are building.

      2. You can check our Toolset plugins. This site
      http://ecommerce-wordpress.discover-wp.com/products-grid-compare/
was built with Toolset plugins which are WPML compatible. As you can see we have Product Comparison implemented.
If you want to test this site for free, please use this link:
      http://discover-wp.com/site-types/bootcommerce-layouts/

      I hope that helps/

      • Thanks, Agnes. I’ll give it try. I just found out the changelog mentions it’s compatible with WPML

        = 2.5.0 – 2015/04/04 =
        * Feature – Added multilingual support. Full compatibility for WPML static and dynamic strings
        * Feature – On install plugin detects WPML install and auto creates Comparison table / page for each language results.
        * Feature – When WPML is installed to show the widget title in current selected language add a Compare Widget for each language to the sidebar and on each add the title in language and select the corresponding language on the widget.
        * Fix – Compatibility text for current version of WordPress on the Core Update page. Feature stopped working with WordPress version 4.1

I didn’t get any answer from their side, but thanks for your great support and quick response.

        Wouter

  12. Hi, we used to use WP All Import with your plugin to import large batches of products for clients. I can see it’s a much discussed point that there is no longer any compatibility between the two plugins.

Going forward, and considering using WPML on other large webstores, does WPML have a method for importing large batches of products, or any recommendation on how to do so?

    • The people behind WP All Import decided that being compatible with multilingual sites isn’t worth their time. My recommendation is to find an alternative that you like and get them to work with us. We don’t do mass product imports, so we really don’t know this market. Our compatibility team will be happy to work with any other developer who creates a content import plugin. Does this make sense?

  13. If I purchase WPML for one year and then if we want to upgrade it to Lifetime (after a month or 2) then do we have to pay both the cost ($79 + $195) Or just $195 total?

    • Hi Raj,
you will have to pay the diffrence (195-79) only but you will able to upgrade to Lifetime 30 days before your account expires. We will send you a remider 30 days before.

    • Hi Tom, the waiting queue is quite long. Let me contact the people responsible to find out more about your case.

      • Hello,

I understand but my first request was more then 14 days ago, even if you have a long queue at least I should receive some information or a automated reply that my request was received.

Anyhow, do you have a timeframe when my application will be adressed?

  14. Hi,

I need help! Yesterday I’ve bought the update but the status says wc-pending. What does that mean? I can included or show a screenshot of the ’View Order’ screen.
What I also don’t understand is the double order. Is that correct? Also is the price correct? Is it 50% as seen in my mail from wpml in march?

    With regards,
    Martin

  16. Hi,
I have an account and want to buy a new version of the Multilingual CMS of 79USD. When I hit the buy button, nothing happens. I tried it in OSX Safari and OSX Chrome. So how do I buy a new version.

    Thnx
    Frank ( frankK-5 account)

    • Hi Frank,

you can login with your WPML account and use the ‘Multilingual CMS’ link provided in your account page. This will redirect you to the checkout page in order to complete the purchase. Have you tried this?

On our tests we are not finding any problem with this link. We can also suggest to clear your browser cache.

      • Hi Agnes,
Thnx for coming back. So yes when I go direct to “buy” on the main page it works. However…. when I go to downloads….. and then hit buy there, it does not work.
I am ok for now… but you do have a bug there…. 😉

        Have a good weekend.

        BR
        Frank

        • Thanks, I will notify our developers then. Frank, you say, you are ok. Did you have to pay more? Is so, please let me.
