Hello,
I’m currently building my new website on the WordPress platform and want to know if, in the future I decided to move away to an own developed website (e.g. Using html, Java, php, etc) could I still use WPML or does it only work with WordPress?
This fellow is violating our trademark and causing damage to people who buy from him. We are in a legal process against this and we are not the only ones.
I’m not sure what you would get if you buy from this site.
The only place to buy WPML, get the correct plugin, updates and support is from wpml.org.
I’m sorry for the confusion that this causes. We are doing our best to resolve this problem via legal channels.
hello, I want to buy this great plugin but I have question about its usage.
I want to use it in dev and then production, is it okz, what is your policy here.
soon i m also planing to change server, so in that case do i need to buy it again??
Once you buy WPML, you can use it on all the sites that you build for yourself and for your clients. This includes development and production sites. You only need to pay once and not per site.
Would it be possible to get guidance doing this if I buy the plugin? I´ve tried a few other translation plugins and I´ve ran into problems with all of them.
Hi,
I want to create a splash page with language selection. I read in the forum that is something that is possible. Can I do this splash page with the first package? I mean the one that cost 29$.
Thank you
Meaning, all languages will be in directories, so the root URL becomes neutral (without a language). You can assign anything to that root page.
This is available in the basic Blog package. If you later find that you need other features of WPML that are only available in the full Multilingual CMS package, you can always upgrade. When upgrading, you only need to pay the difference.
I’m an old customer and looking for renewal but I have a small question about Multi-currency support for WooCommerce.
I’m using myCred plugin(http://mycred.me/) to create a virtual currency, this currency behaves like any other in WooCommerce. I want to add some products that can be purchased using the virtual currency and others purchased using euros.
Can I make some products mandatory to buy in only a currency?
we’re searching for a plugin that can build multilingual WordPress sites. Someone recommended WPML and now, I would like to ask if it’s possible to get a demo version of the WPML plugin, so we can test the plugin before we have to buy it?
Hi Sarah,
we don’t have a demo version but we do have a refund policy, so if you are not completely satisfied with WPML we will give your money back: https://wpml.org/purchase/refunds-policy/
HI , I just build up a new website using the wordpress format. just wondering how difficult to install the program. or do I need to pay somebody to install and configure it for me?
Hi Sidney, you install WPML as any other WordPress plugin but first you need to download the zip from your WPML account. Once you activate the plugin you will be guided with a wizard what to click next to configure WPML (add languages, the language switcher etc). This is easy and intuitive. However if for some reasons you get stuck, just raise a ticket in out support forum and our supporters will help you.
I have a client whose website uses WPML. Their subscription has run out. The version of WPML being used is 3.1.5. The developer who purchased the plugin is no longer the developer and would like to close her account.
If I purchase a new subscription for my client, will I be able to update WPML on their website without losing any settings etc….?
Hello!
i want to buy full wpml lifetime, i want to ask if is possible to buy in your website add ons like string translations, and if license is lifetime o per year?
Also after buy, could you help to configure website?
Hello, all the WPML add-ons are included in the “Multillingual CMS” or “Lifetime” packages. The first one will expire after the first year, the second one will never expire. If you buy the first one, you will be able to upgrade to Lifetime as well after the first year and pay the difference only.
Hi,
my Subscription has run out. I have got some questions before I renew or even take a lifetime subscription.
Regarding to the list in the wordpress backend I’m runnig WPML Multilingual CMS Version 3.0.1.
Why is there no hint, that a newer version is availabe?
Would there be this hint, if my subscription would be active?
Is my current version compatible with WordPress 4.4.1 ?
For I have updated yesterday in the afternoon and today errors like that occure:
Warning: explode() expects parameter 2 to be string, array given in /wp-content/plugins/sitepress-multilingual-cms/sitepress.class.php on line 6270
Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /wp-content/plugins/sitepress-multilingual-cms/sitepress.class.php on line 6272
Does the lifetime licence include some kind of automatic updates?
Why is there no hint, that a newer version is availabe? Would there be this hint, if my subscription would be active?
yes, once you have your WPML registered together with a specific site, you will see a message (in your WordPress admin) about new updates.\\
Is my current version compatible with WordPress 4.4.1 ?
The latest WPML version is compatible with WP 4.4.1. Keeping WPML up to date with latest WP core is a high priority for us.
Warning: explode() expects parameter 2 to be string, array given
Here, in pre-sales questions I won’t help you with this message but our supporters will. Please register a ticket in our support forum.
Does the lifetime licence include some kind of automatic updates?
You will get automatic notification if you register your WPML but you must press the “update” button yourself.
If you decide to renew your subscription, please log into your WPML account first. For former users we offer some discounts.

Hi,
I’m looking at buying MyThemeShop PointPro theme, running the theme in English, but and running a tri-lingual blog in it with WPML, the various parts of which i’m hoping to be able to geotarget in Google webmaster tools.
1. are there any compatability issues here – i see that MyTHemeShop is not listed for compatability?
2. apologies if i should be asking mythemeshop, but do these blogs within business themes get set up in such a way that you can geotarget the language sub-folder in google, after you’ve written their blog posts in the relevant language?
many thanks
WPML doesn’t have any built-in the goe localization options either. But if you provide good contents you will get organic traffic from Google to your site in a natural way. I’m sorry I couldn’t help you much.
May we please contact you via email as we have sensitive information that cannot be in public forums. if you cannot post your email here, perhaps you can email me directly.

Hi Serge, translatin a page is only one step. You need to have translated pages connected in a way, to say your WOrddPress which one is a translation of which one. If you simply copy and translate your page (without WPML), how will you tell your site that this page is available in other languages?
When you create a page with WPML, WPML will handle it automatically.
First you download the WPML plugin to your local disk and then you upload the zip file to your WordPress site as you would upload any other WOrdPress plugin.
We are creating our new site in WordPress and I’d like to purchase this plugin. When I search for it on the Plugins page there are lots of different ones with WPML. What is the correct one to purchase?
Hi, actually you purchase a WPML subscription not a single plugin which means getting access to your WPML where you can download different plugins available in the package you purchased.
So you have only 3 possiblities:
1. Multilingual Blog
2. Multilingual CMS
3. Lifetime
The Blog package is enough only for very simple sites such as blogs. 2. and 3. have the same plugins included. The difference is that the “Multilingual CMS” will expire after the first year if you don’t renew it.
Hi Karl,
by default WPML allows you to do the following setup:
1. Different languages in directories ((http://domainname.com/ – English, http://domainname.com/es/ – Spanish)
You can optionally use a directory for default language
2.
i want to build several multisites, each for another language. Each of the site will have its own domain (that’s the plan so far..).
I am doing this because, it is not only a translation, also the content will differ, for example, other blog articles, other product pages and also the main menu would change a little bit from country to country. That is why i want to use the multisite function of WordPress.
However, i know, this approach means a lot of future work for administration of all the sites.
So, i am still able to use your plugin? Would there be any benefit regarding adminstration and working together with a team?
Hi Michael,
if you plan to use a separate WordPress (and all within one WordPress Multisite) for each language you don’t need WPML at all.
The question is if you really need a WordPress Multisite. From what I can read you will achieve everything you need with WPML. When you build multilingual sites with WPML:
1. you don’t have to have the same menu items in your menus for each langue (you can skips some or you can include some extra ones for a particular country/language only)
2. you don’t have to translate all your blog posts/pages
I don’t know how much of your content is the same and how many pages will differ so it’s difficult to judge what solution will suit you.
HI , I WANT TO BUY THIS PLUGIN BUT I HAVE 2 QUESTIONS .
1) IS IT SUPPORT PERSIAN LANGUAGE ?
2) I CAN TRANSLATE MY HOLE SITE ? FOR EXAMPLE I GOT A THEME THAT HAS UNDER THE POST SECTION OTHER SECTIONS LIKE AGENTS AND PROPERTIES . CAN I TRANSLATE ALSO THE POSTS INSIDE THOSE ?
2. Yes, you should be able to translate all the elements, including custom posts and fields. You can have some issues with your theme custom options so best is to check if your theme is WPML fully compatible https://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/
We are a translation agency. Our client has his website done in WordPress. If we were to acquire the CMS management tool you offer, buying it ourselves, would we be able to use it for managing His current website that is using WordPress? What else would we need to have or is this just an add on?
Hello Michele,
yes, you can purchase WPML and use it for you client site. Moreover, you will be able to use the same WPML subscription for you other customers. WPML is a set of WordPress plugins. First you download and upload to your WordPress site the WPML Multilingual CMS plugin, as you would install any other WordPress plugin. Then you can install other plugins available in your WPML account, according to your needs. Probably you will find the “WPML Translation Management” plugin useful as well (it’s included in the “Multilingual CMS” or/and “Multilingual CMS Lifetime” subscriptions).
I am an existing customer but I am contacting you via this method since being able to contact you as a customer is virtually impossible.
Our previous web guy purchased the WMPL WooCommerce Multilingual plugin. He longer works with us and i don’t have any ID or purchase code.
I believe the wrong plugin was purchased sine we are not running an ecommerce site. What we need is to translate our wordpress webpages over to Quebec French. What plugins do I need to do this? Also can we get a refund and return the ecommerce plugin and apply the refund to purchasing the correct plugin(s).
The commercial plugin is the “WPML Multilingual CMS” plugin. If you have this one installed in your website you can use it, but the owner of the WPML subscription is the person who bought it. Please note that WPML plugin doesn’t translate your contents automatically. You have three options to trasnlate your contents:
1. Do this manually – copy from the documents your customer has provided and paste translations directly into your WordPress. This is a simple process but a very time-consuming one.
2. Send your content to your own translators via XLIFF files. WPML Translation Management module helps you here.
3. Send your content to a professional translation. Completed translations appear automatically in your site. No manual work is needed. This is paid extra.

I do have a lot of translated pages and it would be a nightmare if i were to lose any of these pages because of an upgrade.
Hi,
you won’t lose your translations when upgrading WPML. You won’t lose your translations even if you delete WPML.

WPML is a WordPress plugin. It allows you to build multilingual WordPress sites. WPML only runs on sites built with WordPress.
There is a fellow at https://sozot.com/products/wpml-bundle/ who is selling your CMS package for $25 (your price is $79).

Hi, can I translate custom category slugs with wpml? For example, let´s say I have the following URL: http://www.listify/listings/johnscafe
Can I translate “listings”? Or is it just the post name that can be translated (johnscafe)?
Thanks,
Kim
You can translate both with WPML. Categories different languages have their own names, descriptions and slugs.
Thank you for your quick reply, Amir!
Would it be possible to get guidance doing this if I buy the plugin? I´ve tried a few other translation plugins and I´ve ran into problems with all of them.
Have a good Sunday,

Hi,
I want to create a splash page with language selection. I read in the forum that is something that is possible. Can I do this splash page with the first package? I mean the one that cost 29$.
Thank you
For the splash screen, I think that you need a configuration like this one:
https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/directory-default-language/

This is something that we will need to test, together with the author of the myCred plugin. Would you like to invite the other author to our Go Global program?
https://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/go-global-program/
Thanks Amir,
Mycred currency behave like a regular currency.
Let me put this in other words, can I have some products available to buy only in euros and others available to buy only in dollars?
Hi Fabio, answering your question. No, this is not possible.

Hi, Great plugin,
The plugin with Armenian language or no?
Thanks !
Hi,
yes, the Armenian language is a one of the pre-defined languages so you will see it in WPML setup:
https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/pre-configured-languages/
Hello,
Maybe a stupid question.. Can I also use WPML to make adjustments to existing plugins/themes (without using WPML to build a multi language site)?
Hi Bjorn, this is possible. Once you have your WPML installed, in your WordPress admin go to WPLM -> Theme and plugins localization.
More info here:

Hi,
As I understand it you dont have full integration with Visual Composer. I would like to understand how your currently proposed solution differs from me simply copying, renaming ans translating a page?
You describe the process here : https://wpml.org/2014/06/use-visual-composers-page-builders-wpml/
What value add does WPML bring in this case ?
Thanks,
Serge
Hi Serge, translatin a page is only one step. You need to have translated pages connected in a way, to say your WOrddPress which one is a translation of which one. If you simply copy and translate your page (without WPML), how will you tell your site that this page is available in other languages?
When you create a page with WPML, WPML will handle it automatically.
But you are right, using WPMl with the Visual Composer means a lot of work. That’s why we offer Layouts. Please read the post (it includes a video) for more details:
https://wpml.org/2015/10/translating-sites-created-with-drag-and-drop-layouts/
I would like to know if it can be downloaded directly onto my website or is downloaded onto my computer?
So once I purchase either #2 or #3 from your website, where will I download the plugins from, within WordPress or from your website?
From your website. After purchasing WPML you will get an email with a link to your account and instructions how to proceed.
Hi Karl,
by default WPML allows you to do the following setup:
1. Different languages in directories ((http://domainname.com/ – English, http://domainname.com/es/ – Spanish)
You can optionally use a directory for default language
2.
Hi Michael, yes you can, but you will also need other plugins.
Here’s how one of our customer solved this problem:
https://wpml.org/2014/02/maintaining-client-sites-centrally-using-wpml-and-domain-mapping/
you can also try the plugin described here:
