Thinking of buying this plugin because polylang doesn’t have the ability to let me translate all of the text at my blog.
For example my bio text and the three blocks on the main page (just beneath the logo and menu)
Does WPML give me the opportunity to translate both this texts and other? Or is it also limited to the Standard wp parts? (Side bar, pages, articles, menu etc)
Hi Simone,
yes, you should be able to translate all your site’s elements with WPML. But some cases are more challenging (usually custom options of your theme) and they, to be translated, required the so called WPML config file. If a theme is compatible with WPML, everything will work out of the box. If not, there is still a chance to translate everything but the details will depend on your individual case.
You can buy WPML and test it yourself for 30 days. During that time you can ask questions on our support forum. If it turns out that WPML doesn’t satisfy your needs, please request your refund: https://wpml.org/purchase/refunds-policy/
I’d like to ask whether there are multi-revision support in WPML.
Say we have a page and have translated it into several languages. And after some time, we want update the original post. Most importantly, we want to release updates of all translations altogether to public. Does WPML support that? Or is there other plugins to enable that? This feature is very important to us.
Thanks!
Hi Kevin,
WPML doesn’t translate your contents automatically.
It has a feature that indicates that the original post has changed. You will see a different icon for all posts that require updating because the original version has changed.
I’m working with an outside company who is developing a word press site in several different languages for my company. We have the development sites hosted on Azure (PHP 5.6; MySQL 5.5, 128MB memory). The new version of WPML needs MySQL 5.6. Can I get a version of WPML that will run on Azure ClearDB MySQL 5.5? If so, how will this affect security, performance, functionality, when using it with the latest released WordPress templates?
If it’s acceptable to use a previous version of WPML is there a way I can get a test copy? I will eventually need this plug-in for all 5-different language sites.
“WordPress also works with PHP 5.2.4+ and MySQL 5.0+, but these versions have reached official End Of Life and as such may expose your site to security vulnerabilities.”
In theory you could use an old WPML version (in your WPML account you have access to the archive) but is seems to make any sense. If you have any issues with the plugin, first thing our supporter will ask you would be to upgrade to the latest version.
Hi, for customers who missed their renewals we offer to upgrade to the Lifetime version at a reduced price. Please log into your WPML account and you will see that option.
This plugin looks ideal. However, my client would like to show translated content based on two factors:
1) By IP address – for example, a user based in France would automatically see the French language content
2) By manually selecting a language – users would be able to click on a flag icon and see the relevant language for that country.
Would this plugin would allow us to perform both of these?
Hello,
1) WPML can detect the user language based on the settings in her browser. This option is available in WPML settings and you just need to turn it on. So if somebody has the French language set as the main language in her browser and your site’s homepage is in English, she will be automatically redirected to the French version of the site.
This option is not so critical as it might look like. If your site is available in several languages, eventually you will get more organic traffic (from search engines such as Google) to individual pages which are available in the visitor language. So if somebody types in his query in French, they will get results in French and end up visiting the relevant page in French, instead let’s say the homepage.
2) Once you select your languages the so called language switcher will be available in your site. You can insert it in different places.
I am considering to buy WPML. My question is it possible to edit WP Pro Real Estate 7 custom fields in Advance Search? http://www.kibrishomes.com
For example I need to edit the source text “State” to “Area”
Thanks in advance
What do you mean by editing source text? The source files of your theme? Yes, you can do this but I don’t understand what it has to do with using WPML?
Hi,
I just want to make sure that when I buy or upgrade to the Life-Time version, I will be able to use WPML for all pages I built for different customers, meaning different pages on different domains.
I am considering to buy. I need to edit custom field source text in the Advanced Search shown here. http://www.kibrishomes.com
I need to edit “State” to “Area”
Is this possible?
We have an English website and a Chinese website. They are two separate websites built on two separate WordPress sites. They are the same in terms of the main landing pages, but different everywhere else.
Can I use WPML for the hreflang function even the english and the Chinese site are not connected?
Hi Jacky,
no, I’m sorry but in that case WPML won’t help you. It generates the language switcher for the languages setup with WPML, in a single WP install.
Hi I’ve just bought the WPML plug in but now I realize that I entered the wrong email.
So I did not recieve the information to log in to my account and download wpml.
I have a question regarding the invoice. I want to buy it on my firm but I do not want to use my credit card, I want to get the invoice and then pay with bank transfer. Is that doable? thank you
One question is bothering me. What happens if I will not renew my account (blog or CMS) after 1 year? Will WPML stop working on my website or I just won’t be able to get new versions and updates?
Hi, WPML won’t stop working but you will lose access to future releases and our support forum.
You will be able to upgrade to Lifetime by paying the difference only instead of renewing each year again and again.
Can you please tell me what the latest version of wpml is? I have version 3.3.6, but I think I may need to update it.
I think I may need to update because when I edit the language switcher widget colors, they update in the “Language switcher widget preview” but not on the website.
Hi,
I understand for WPML All Import to function it require me to purchase CMS as well.
But to my understanding CMS automatically translate all post and product on my website, right? then would my website require WPML All Import plugin to upload translated CSV if CMS already going to translate all product and post as desired?
Please Advise, Thanks
Jun
I understand for WPML All Import to function it require me to purchase CMS as well.
That’s correct.
But to my understanding CMS automatically translate all post and product on my website, right?
No, WPML doesn’t translate automatically. You insert the translations or you can use the “WPML Translation management” plugin that integrates WPML with different profesional translation services but these are paid extra: https://wpml.org/documentation/content-translation/
I believe WPML uses multiple pages for different languages. Is it possible to translate a page without having to duplicate the images of a certain page?
ex. when i have a page in two languages and i’d like to change an image (afterwards), i have to do it twice – Or is it possible the image changes over both pages, which saves half of the time.
No, the pictures won’t be updated automatically in your translation posts.
But actually there is one exception when they will.
When you translate your original post you have two options:
1. create a new post that will include the translation
2. duplicate the original
If you choose option 2. you will see the original post in the other langue as well and these posts will be synchronized (actually that the same physical copy).
So if your post consists of images only (or videos) it makes sense to use this duplicate option and in that case the images will be updated in the other versions as well.
i want to install it to a new theme (by elma studio from germany)
but i get this error message:
Fatal error: Specified key was too long; max key length is 1000 bytes in /www/htdocs/w011c2f1/wp-content/plugins/sitepress-multilingual-cms/inc/sitepress-schema.php on line 366
Hi Julian, I don’t know which WPLM version you use now but it’s been a long time since 2012 and probably it no longer matches both your WordPress version and needs to be updated.
If you have an active subscription please contact our support forum. If your WPML subscription has already expired, you need to renew it to access the latest version.
1) We are using Woocommerce and I cannot find, if WPML can be use in the way, that our partner (from point of WP probably Editor) in foreign country see only orders for his language (country)? That he/she cannot see all orders.
2) Is it possible to filtr orders according to language/country even for statistic.
I need this to decide if use WPML or Multisite (or separate webs).
I bought your plugin today, but i bougth it with the wrong email, can you please contact me so we can change the email so i can login and download the plugin?
i have the receipt
Hello,
please use this contact form to send us some details (your full name, the email you bought WPML with, your oder number) so our admins can identify your case in our system. We will fix it:
I am interested in buying your plugin, my questions are:
1) you provide professional translators (agencies) that can take in charge our requests (if we need professional translations like we do). What is the benefit we have asking them through your plug-in and not to them directly? Have you an agreement for a bit of discount for each service or they offer the services at the same fare on the market?
Even if they upload the translations, we need to understand better if you have a 10% or more less on the requests from your company.
2) Can we test your plug-in for the first 30days and, if not satisfacted, can we ask for a full reimbursement?
3) If wetake the one Yr subcritpion and just in case we do not need to renew, can we unistall your plug-in avoiding to loose the translations we setted up/paid to your suppliers (may be we can use them building other pages on our WordPress?)
1. Of course you can ask the professional services to translate your content in a standard way (for example to exchange the docs) but then you will have more work to upload it to your WordPress, add needed formatting etc. Extra work than can be done for you automatically. You can always correct their translations directly in your WordPress.
I would be interested to buy your software in order to translate my website. I have a small start up recently established, I would like to know whether you have any discount policy for start ups?
i want to by the licence for The Best Deal Package.
I have a small requierment.
I have a budget that is very strict. If my spending si not compatible with my rules of spending i will pay the bil after some time with my own money.
To be shure it will be very helpful for me if you can send me a simulation with the a Invoice exeample.
I can giv it to my accountant and see if everything is ok.

Hi , i have this website i want to traduce with wpml,
I bought , BEST DEAL Multilingual CMS Lifetime Pay once, for another web now i want tu use in a new one may i have to buy again?
i thought this was for use to many times as we want,
i have a couple of questions:
1.- can i use this pluggin always in diferents web or i have to pay anytime?
2.-I tried to add the wpml lifetime, but still ask me to register…
and when i paste the code, it says that wpml is already used…
please let me know…
Hi Anna,
your thinking was correct – you can use one WPML subscription for all your sites.
You need to generate a separate key for each of your site. That’s it. If you have technical problem with it, please raise a ticket on our support forum.
if i bought this plan: “BEST DEAL Multilingual CMS LifetimePay once, get everything”
May I pay for everytime that I use the pluggin? ( i thought this price it was forever)
I tried and asked me to register when I paste the code told me that it’s not in use
I just answered your question: one WPML subscription is enough.
