  1. Hello,

I’m just wondering if wpml would allow me to translate the default checkout page on woocommerce to Arabic and flip the fields so that they are RTL.

    Thanks,

    • Yes, but please note that your theme should support RTL. Best would be to choose a theme that supports RTL out of the box, so you can save a lot of time doing it manually.

  2. Hello, I am going to start a website that I would like to have 3 different languages.

Is the Multilingual Blog Plugin enough? I don’t need to translate the text, I just need to have the website working in different languages with all the correct URL’s etc..

    Thank you for your time,
    António

    • Hi Antonio,
if you need to translate post and pages only, the Blog version should be enough. Even it it turns out later that you need to translate more strings and you need the CMS subscription, you can upgrade later and pay the difference only.

  3. Hello,

We are a social business aiming to reduce poverthy through fairtrade sportsballs. We are not registered as charity but as a company in France with a social purpose.

We are moving our website to WordPress and we wish to translate our website in English. May I kindly ask if you would consider offering us the plug in for free?

    Kind Regards

    Brice

  4. Hi,

If I buy a lifetime membership, can I use the plugin on various clients website?
If so, will they have access to my WPML information/account?

    Thanks,

    Caroline

    • Yes, you can. Your customers won’t have access to your WPML account, but you can register their site in your WPML account so they will be able to upgrade WPML to new releases directly from their WP sites.

  5. when you purchase the multilingual plug-in, can you do several languages for one cost or is there a cost per language?

    • Hi Patti, WPML allows you to add as many languages as you need but please note that it doesn’t translate your contents automatically. If you are interested in translations, please know that WPML is integrated with several professional translation services but these are paid extra and the price is set by each service individually.

    • Hi,
using the WPML settings you can include your language switcher in the main navigation, as a widget or in the footer. But with little PHP coding you can include the language switcher wherever you want. We don’t have a demo version but our refunds policy allows you to test WPML for 30 days without any risk:
      https://wpml.org/purchase/refunds-policy/

In the future release of WPML we will add the possibility to choose different menus.

  6. Hello

I have to work on a page where someone before me has bought Wpml. I tried to activate it and installed all the required plugins. But in the plugin status it keeps saying “WPML is either not installed or not active. Get WPML”

It says that the plugin is registred but it seems like the installation can not be found.

The customer does not have any documentation that they purchased. It was the webdesigner before me who bought it. Do I have to buy WPML one more time or is there anyway I can fix the problem without the customer having to pay twice?

    Best regards Christina

    • Hi Christina,
please ask your customer to reset the password to his WPML account:

      https://wpml.org/account/lost-my-password/

Once they log in, they will see what sort of subscription they have and if it is still valid.

If it expired, you (or they) will need to buy again (or upgrade from the current account).
If it is still active, you will find the plugins in the Download section.

You can also buy WPML for yourself and you will be able to use it for all your customers sites.

  7. Hi, my name is Ana and I’m working for a company that in 2014 bought the plug in WPML. At the moment, obviously not work. I wonder if we can pay 39€ for account renewal and use it in a new website?
The log in data which were sent by mail do not work and we can’t access the WPML.org content.

    Thank you.
    Looking forward to your reply.

    Best regards,
    Ana

    • Hi Ana, please try to reset the password to your WPML account if you cannot remember the credential but you know the email it was purchased with.
      https://wpml.org/account/lost-my-password/

You can renew WPML for $39 only if it hasn’t expired yet. If you bought it in 2014 (and it wasn’t a Lifetime subscription) for sure it expired. But you can still log in and upgrade from the WPML account. First, you need to reset the password.

If it doesn’t help, please contact us using this form:
      https://wpml.org/home/contact-us/contact-form/

and provide us with something that proves you are the subscription’s owner and we will help you.

    • It’s not possible to install your own plugins on wordpress.com, so you cannot use WPML there. You can use WPML only on self-hosted WordPress sites.

  8. Does the Multi-currency plugin support automatic paypal exchange rates Updates?
Also when you are checking out is the paymet in the primary currency or switched currency?

    • Hello,
to answer your first question, no it doesn’t. The answer for your second question is: the checkout takes place in the currency that was chosen when the checkout was initiated.

    • WPML Currency switcher questions:
So do you have an individual rounding up for currencies?
For example I want to set the dollar to round up to nearest 10 (56$ is 60)
bu Norweigen crowns I want to set up to nearest 100 (56 needs to be 100)

The second question is there a option (or a hook) that we can use to add a percentage to the converted currency?
Example we want to add 2% for paypal conversion to the original price
and our item costs 100 GBP
      GBP to $ would be 100GPB +2 GBP(2 percent) = 132 dollars
Thank you in advance for your response

  9. Hi there,

I’d like to know if there’s a trial version of the plugin so I can test it out in my local environment.

I’ve been having issues with WP’s REST API using qtranslate-X and I was wondering if your integration with the REST API plugin was working.

    thanks a lot.

    B.

    • There’s no ‘trial version’ for WPML, but we do offer refunds, up to 30 days from the purchase date. If you buy WPML and you’re not completely happy with it, we’ll return your money. What are you trying to do with the WP REST API and what would you need WPML to do with it?

  10. I’m thinking of purchasing the Multilingual CMS package, but I’ve a couple of questions about it:

1.- The account renewal per year is to get updates and support for the plugin or is for the plugin to be active?, therefore I’m forced to pay $39 every year?

2.- Can I translate my WooCommerce products without having to create duplicates or trick the shop URL (as it happens with Polylang)? So I would have only one inventory to maintain, but displayed in the front-end in X number of languages?

3.- Does that allows multi-currency for the WooCommerce shop?

    Thanks in advance,
    Desiree

    • 1. Renewing is optional. The plugin you installed won’t stop working, you will lose access to our support help and future releases.
      2. No special tricks needed but if you want your products to be translated into other languages you need to translate their names and other attributes, it won’t happen itself.
      3. Yes, it does.

  11. Hello,

We are planning to purchase the option Multilingual
CMS Lifetime, however, our accounting departement needs a purchasing order to apply for the payment request and validation.

Would it be possible for you to provide a purchasing order so that we may complete and sign in paper?

Many thanks and in anticipation of your reply

    Best regards,

    Hui

  12. Hi there

I am considering purchasing your plugin.

Can I just check that it allows for automation of language displayed based on the users browser settings, as I have seen mentioned?

Also there is a desire to get the foreign language version to appear high-up in google serch results for that particular language based search. Can you advise me as to whether the plugin can help achieve this in any respect?

    Thanks
    Andy

    • 1. Yes, WPML allows you to detect the user’s languages based on his browser settings. This option is disabled by default but you can enable it in WPML settings.
      2. Yes, WPML will help you because it works great with the SEO plugins and WPML allows you to translate all your site’s elements.

  13. Hello,

We are interested in the Multilingual
    CMS Lifetime.

In order to purchase, our accounting departement will need a purchasing order to apply for the payment and obain the internal validation. we are wondering if you could provide a copy of PO in PDF and your terms&conditions?

    thank you very much

    Hui

    • We don’t have our terms and conditions in a pdf but WPML is GPL-based and you can use one WPML subscriptions for all the sites you build (for different customers).

  14. Hi,

We have a website with WPML running already and we love it! However I just wanted to ask, does WPML offer manual translation? We have a page of professionally translated text and want to input it manually. Do we need to install any add on plugins? It would be great if WPML supports both automatic and manual translation as that’s just what we need 🙂

Appreciate your help, thanks and have a nice day!

    • Hi Keith,
WPML doesn’t support automatic translations. You insert the translation manually or you can use one of the professional translation services which are paid extra. To use them, you need to install the WPML Translation Management plugin which is included in the CMS or Lifetime subscription.

  15. Hello,

I am trying to purchase the plugin but my credit card will not let me purchase from Hong Kong (where website is hosted?).

Is there another option for payment?

    Thank you,
    ~ Karen

  16. Hi.
if i buy the Multilingual Blog version i am able to do string translation? It’s a small website and i don’t need the cms version features.

    Thanks

    • Hi Rui,
no, the String translation add-on is not included in the Multilingual Blog subscription. You need at least the Multilingual
      CMS version.

  18. Hi There,

I currently have 2 sites, on e in English and one in French. The sites are http://www.cab9snowboarding.com/ and http://cab9snowboarding.fr/.

When I integrate the sites I will want the English or French option to sit at the top above or below the navigation. Is this possible? are there options for styling the text and buttons etc?

Once the viewer has switched from the English to French site will I be able to have the French navigation in French or will this stay in English as it’s unclear from what I can find on your site.

The client also had the French site translated properly as they do not want google translate or any such translation generator used. I’m assuming I can use all my cutom translations fully?

    Thanks for your help,

    John

    • Hi John,
using WPML settings you can add the language switcher to your main navigation, to your sidebar (as a widget) or to the footer of your website.

But with little programming effort you can add it anywhere actually (including the header). We provide a code snippet for that.

I’m assuming I can use all my cutom translations fully?

That’s correct. WPML doesn’t translate the contents automatically so you would add the translations yourself anyway.

    • Thanks for getting back to me.

There are still a couple of things that are unclear.

Once I have combined my English and French site, when I activate the French version will the main navigation be changeable i.e the english has ‘coaching’ and the French has thetranslation ‘L’enseignement’ or will the main nav always be in the main language – English.

Also is the drop down menu customiseable without coding knowledge so that it integrates seamlessly into the site?

      Thanks for your help,

      John

      http://cab9snowboarding.fr/
      http://www.cab9snowboarding.com/

      • Hi John,
yes, WPML translates the navigation as well. Once you translate the pages and their titles the titles will be reflected in the navigation for each language automatically. You can, of course, adjust them manually if you need.

And yes, the menu will be translated without coding knowledge.

  19. Hello,

Now, we have our website with Spanish language only, but we need to allow to our users, the option with Catalan language. Total, we only want 2 languages on our website.

It’s possible to do it with the free version?

    Thank you,

    David.

  20. Hello,

I have a multi-vendor website and want vendors to be able to add their own currencies when adding products with Woocommerce. Just to confirm does your product offer a multi-currency option as well as the multi-lingual?

    Thanks,
    Francis

  21. Hey, I’m about to buy a CMS license but need to make sure of one thing first.
Im working a site that is in english and when copying the english content to be able to start translating it, it excludes the portfolio item settings and the Featured Image. I would save a whole lot of time if the option of including these things were an option, is it?

    Kind regards
    Adam

    • Hi Adam,
yes, you can translate only the post/page content (and title) but professional sites have all the elements translated. Google bots also like it. If you buy the CMS subscription you will have all the plugins required to translate additional elements as well, it’s up to you whether you will use them or not.

      • Hej Agnes,

Thank you for the respons. Sorry if i might have been unclear, but my question wasn’t about translating but to copy page settings such as Layout and sidebar settings when adding a language version of a page. For exaple, now I can press ‘Copy content from English’ and the title and content will transfer to the new tranlation but NOT the page settings. Right now I have to manually adjust those settings. My question is will the CMS subscription enable me to also copy those settings?

        • Hi Adam,
you will be able to translate the elements that appear in your sidebar etc but how it works – they don’t get copied together with your page content. Most of them will be detected by the String translation plugin (included in the WPML CMS package) and displayed on one screen in your WP back-end.

If your theme is 100% WPML compatible all such strings should be detected automatically and then you just enter the translations for each element.
