Hello, I’m a developer and want to know what happens in this 3 differents cases with this pluggin:
1- is this pluggin multilanguage? if yes how it works if I change from one language to another and then want to revert the translation? is there an original option or something like that?
2-is there a way to set a default setting so when installed its just to activate the pluggin?
3- If I have 2 different sites when I change the language in one, the other one is affected too?
1. you mean, you want to set let’s say English as your primary language first and Spanish as your second language and then, after a few months you want to make Spanish the primary language? If so, possible with WPML.
2. yes, the settings won’t be lost if you deactivate the WPML plugin.
3. no, if these two sites are separate WP sites, changing the settings in one won’t affect the settings in the other one in any way.
Hi Agnes,
is this a pluggin that the user can modify the language or just the admin? What I need is that if the user wants the site in English, touch the flag, the same day he wants in Spanish so he can change the language. But what happens If I have 2 or more different languages in the same site? Also… If I change it to Spanish (all the content in English will turn in Spanish, so if I have something in English and something in german will be all Spanish) but later the user want to see all in the original language (some in English some in Spanish and some in german), is this possible for the user? without going to the settings, just touching a flag.
Also what I want to know is that there is a network level setting or its on each site.
Hi Agustin,
in WordPress we have different users, so I’m not sure which user you are talking about:
– admin – has access to the back-end
– editor, author – has limited access to the back-end but can edit/translate posts
– translators (WPML) – a WordPress user who was set a translator in WPML
– visitor – a visitor who can access only front-end
Now, visitors will see the language switcher so they can see the site in the language they choose.
Admins, editors and authors can both switch the language on the front-end and in the back-end. So if they want to translate let’s say the Contact page from English to Spanish, they press a WPML icon to add a Spanish translation and that page is being created in Spanish, next, they insert the Spanish translation. Anytime, when they are editing the Spanish version of that page, they can save that post and switch to back to English editing.
In addition, they can change the language of their WordPress site, what they see in the back-end. So instead of “Posts”, “Add new Post” they will see these strings in Spanish.
Hi Agnes, sorry I didn’t explained well… let me try again.
I want to use this pluggin for all accenture wordpress sites, so what I’m asking is:
1- if the setting is at Network Admin level, so I can configure it for all the sites or the settings are site by site and I have to configure it for every site.
2- This is activated at network admin level or site by site?
3- As we have a lot of sites our doubt is that when we change the language in one site this will change the language when we go to another site that also has this pluggin activated.
4- When I have text in 2 different languages in the same site. I turn all the text to english, so I can read it, after that, i want to go back to the original state, is there an option to do that? (I mean as a user level)
5- And finally is there a trial version or a demo so I can test and give a demo to my customer?
I am a developer and I use Themify builder in my sites, I need to translate my contents which is in the builders. For example, the text element, the icon elements not the page it self. will the WPML be able to translate that ? does support Arabic language ?
I have two sites, one english (http://science-network.tv/) and one Swedish (http://www.infovoice.se/fou/). They present static pages I write and they are pretty much the same content but in two languages. I assume it would make my life easier if I could merge them into one bilingual site. I have some questions before purchasing (probably a lifetime license):
1) Will WPML work with the WP theme Mantra (used in http://science-network.tv/)?
2) Will WPML mess up my counters in the right side bar on http://science-network.tv/?
3) Is Swedish one of the 40 languages your plugin support?
4) Are the english and swedish version of a page one page or two separate pages?
5) How will my WP search plugin (Better Search) handle WPML?
Hello Ronny,
1. The Mantra theme wasn’t tested by our Compatibility Team but you should be able to translate most of your elements (usually users have issues only with non-standard elements).
2. Why do you think it would mess up your counters? Sorry, I don’t know how these counters work to answer this question.
3. Yes, it is.
4. two separate pages but when you edit a page in Enshlish in your back-end you will be able to switch to the Swedish version immediately and vice versa
5. We’ve never used it so it’s hard to say.
How about if you test it yourself? Our refund policy allows you to test WPML for 30 days without risk.
Hello, I am considering to buy your CMS plugin and I need to understand whether or not it’s worth it for my specific needs, so here is some questions:
1. My primary interest is SEO. Which seo benefits does WPML offer over the plugin I am currently using, QTranslate x?
2. Will WPML work with all themes? Mine is from FloThemes.
3. Will qtranslate importer plugin work or there is a chance to loose translations made on my website?
4. Is there a drop down list to select the language?
5. What if I decide not to renew after one year? Will the plugin continue to work with future wordpress versions?
Hello,
1. We are fully compatible with the following SEO plugins:
– All in One SEO Pack
– WordPress SEO by Yoast
which means that you can translate all the SEO elements (meta titles, descriptions, etc) you set up with these plugins
2. If your theme was tested by our Compatibility Team you will be able to translate all your site elements, if not, most of them, I can’t say how your theme custom options will behave. Depends on the theme. Please check this list.
3. We have a converter. Please check it here. https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/qtranslate-importer/
4. Yes, there is.
5. The version you have installed will continue working but of course, we cannot say if it will be compatible with future WP releases.
Hello Agnes, thank you for your reply.
I know that WPML is fully compatible with YOAST SEO, however, what I wanted to say with my first question was:
1. what is the benefit in terms od SEO of having separate posts for separate languages (WPML way) instead of only one post with multiple languages (QTranslate way)?
Last question:
2. If I don’t renew my account and then decide to renew again? What is your payment policy here?
1. First of all, when maintaining translations as separate posts, you won’t end up with a mess in your database and if you have additional data connected with a post/page such as custom fields etc they can be translated as well. Now about SEO. If the translations are stored in one version of your post I don’t know how you can set separate versions for the SEO title and description for each language.
2. When you renew before your current subscription expires, you are paying less ($39 instead of $79). If you don’t renew and then decide to renew again you will need to pay $79 or to update to Lifetime for $116. Actually, you can update to Lifetime anytime and you will pay $116.
Is it possible to use the Multilingual CMS Lifetime package for different WordPress accounts for our clients? We don’t have to buy a licence for each WordPress website we make?
If I buy a license to build a client website, can I transfer property of the license to an account with his email? I want to purchase several for different clients but I can’t release anything until payments are complete and the final product is delivered completed. Is there a way around this?
Hello,
you, as a developer are allowed to buy only one WPML subscription and use it for all your customers. Your customers don’t need to have a WPML subscription/account to use WPML on their sites. You can register their sites in your WPML account and they will even get automatic updates.
If you want to avoid a situation when you installed WPML for your customer and he didn’t pay you for your service but now uses the plugin you paid for you can deactivate WPML and delete the plugin (all the data will remain in database so if you activate WPML again everything will work). YOu can also remove his website URL from your WPML account. It means that they won’t get updates.
Ok my question is: since you offer a discount to keep the CMS license if renewed, I am asking if you are offering a discount on the lifetime license, if I upgrade.
If I purchase Multilingual CMS for one year, prior to the expiration of that first year, can I upgrade to the CMS Lifetime for the difference in purchase price?
Yes, you can. You will pay $116 to upgrade to WPML Lifetime. Actually, upgrading to Lifetime for $116 will be possible anytime, even if your current subscription has already expired. Once expired, your WPML is not deleted (only your subscription changed the status to inactive), so you can still log in and use the option to upgrade/renew.
This website is selling your plugin https://sozot.com/products/wpml-bundle/ at a discounted price. Is it legitimate and can I purchase the plugin from them?
We are the sole owner and the only provider of WPML. The only place where you can purchase WPML legally is this website. Thank you for letting us know. When you buy from us you do it in a legal way, you are getting access to our support help and future releases.
Hi Agnes
i wanna buy WPML CMS $79 but i have some questions for this service
1- i did not see any demo usage, how can i test free trial 1 day or etc, i wanna test it
2- when i give $79, can i use it for all my other wordpress website’s?
3- is $79 1 Month or yearly or lifetime price?
4- it has any character limits? for examle can i translate 10Million character in 1 month
Please answer my questions, i wanna buy this service
Thank you so much
Hi,
1. the only way to test WPML is to buy it with our refund policy in mind.
2. yes, you can use it for all your sites (and your customers’ sites)
3. one year
4. WPML won’t translate automatically. You just add posts/pages in other languages, no limits on the number of characters used. You can also translate other elements of your site using WPML.

Dear sirs
I just bought the CMS WPML and I received your mail confirmation.
However, I have no received any password or codes to download the plugin.
Already 2 hours from paypal payment.
I am building a WordPress theme from scratch for a bilingual website and considering the WPML plugin. What I need to do is estimate the extra time needed to add the second language. (Already know the time needed for a monolingual theme).
Could you tell what is needed to make the php files compatible with WPML. I’m not concerned with the actual translations. I’m only concerned with any extra coding required to make it compatible.
I’m about to buy WPML, $29, here are some questions first:
1) I own a website/blog. If it’s configured in French, all the French articles will be displayed as normal. If I switch to English, the French articles will disappear to swap with the English versions (if the FR article has an EN translation)?
Aka: I will not have both languages articles spamming my frontpage right?
2) I have the Disqus plugin and my visitors comment the articles here. If I have a visitor commenting on the article A English version, will the comment also be displayed on the article A French version? Or are they separated?
3) I haven’t found the theme “Oblivion” in your list, but my theme says “WPML Ready” and “Translate ready – .po files included”. Do you know what the latter, .po, means?
Hi Nicou,
1. “If I switch to English, the French articles will disappear to swap with the English versions (if the FR article has an EN translation)?”
Yes, exactly
“Aka: I will not have both languages articles spamming my frontpage right?”
On your homepage you will have articles only in one language – the language you set as your primary one.
2. WPML support the Disqus Comment System plugin. So comments for each language will be separated.
3. This means that whenever the theme authors used a fixed string in their theme (for example “See more comments” or “Read more”) these strings will be available to translate (WPML will detect them).
Please note that with the $29 subscription you will be able to translate only the basic elements such as posts, pages, menu, categories, tags. For most cases, this is enough for blogs. If it turns out that you need the CMS version, you can upgrade anytime and you will pay the difference.
It looks like my comment didn’t go through. Could you please assist me before I buy wpml?
1) I own a website/blog. Will my front page be flooded with French and English article because of wpml? Or will my French users only see French articles while the English users can only see the English versions of these articles?
2) My visitors can comment the articles via Disqus. Will the two versions of one article (French original and English translated) be separated so the English and French comments don’t mix together?
3) My theme “Oblivion” isn’t listed in your official list of supported themes, however my theme said “WPML ready” and “Translate ready – .po files included”. Could you please tell me what is .po files included?
I have english wording on an image (wording embedded on the image) a JPG, and have separate chinese wording on a separate image. Meaning there are two different images based on the languages.
Is there any setting where when we switch to chinese version, will it change the image as well?
Hi Paul,
please note that WPML doesn’t translate your contents automatically. You need to provide the translations yourself (or use one of the professional translation services integrated with WPML, for these your pay extra) so when you type in your translations you need to use the keyboard relevant to your language and all characters will appear as they should. If your language is not included in the WPML list of pre-defined languages, you can still add it manually.
Hi, on our page you state that:
You can arrange different language contents in the same domain (in language directories), in sub-domains or in completely different domains.
Please let me know how is it possible to use different domains ex: name.it name.ro name.de and so on with a single Woocom admin, as long as woocom doesn’t support multi-store option?
I am developing a website on a temporarily url. something live dev.mysite.com,
Can I purchase and install wpml on this dev url and later when I transfer to live site, http://www.mysite.com, can I just use the same subscription there?
if i have a german website and want to specifically target each german speaking country here (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) so that SE know that the offer is meant for all 3 countries is this Plugin also useful for me?
So will WMPL setup URLs and tags, etc. automatically? Like I just “tell” it, this is Austria de-at, this ist germany de-de, etc. and I get a url structure? Is it clear what I mean?
Hi wpml
On nov 25, black friday, will there come a good discount to wpml? 🙂
Have a nice day 🙂
Hi,
I’m sorry but we don’t offer any discounts.

Hello,
with WPML you can translate pages created with page builders but your would need to copy the page content – please see this page for details.
yes, WPML supports Arabic. Since this is a RTL language please make sure that your theme supports RTL.
I have two sites, one english (http://science-network.tv/) and one Swedish (http://www.infovoice.se/fou/). Hi,
my subscription to wpml.org will expire within 26 days, if I renew it today I will lose 26 days or the renewed year will start at 27th day?
Thanks
Hi, we count the last day of the current subscription and add to it the new year, so you won’t lose these 26 days.

Hi again,
your comment was waiting for moderation. I have just replied.
Hi, do you also support multi currencies? Or do you have another product for this? Or do you recommend something?
Yes, we do. You need to use this plugin
https://wordpress.org/plugins/woocommerce-multilingual/
it’s free (created by our developers) but it requires WPML to work.

Hi,
I have question on the plugin.
I have two websites, English (main) and Chinese. Do I need to do create different subfolder and wordpress installation for the chinese version?
Thanks.
Hi, no, you use only one WordPress installation and WPML will create the “virtual” folders for your languages.
Sorry, I have one extra question.
I have english wording on an image (wording embedded on the image) a JPG, and have separate chinese wording on a separate image. Meaning there are two different images based on the languages.
Is there any setting where when we switch to chinese version, will it change the image as well?
Thanks.
Yes, this is possible. The technical details depend on where this image is used and how your theme works.
We would like use WordPress and WPML for a Website that need to support a Syllabic Characters (for an Inuit Languge – Inuktitut) . Do you support it ?
Hi Paul,
please note that WPML doesn’t translate your contents automatically.
Hi Leo, yes, this is also possible but some setup is required on your web server. Please see details here.

Hi,
I am developing a website on a temporarily url. something live dev.mysite.com,
Can I purchase and install wpml on this dev url and later when I transfer to live site, http://www.mysite.com, can I just use the same subscription there?
Kind Regards,
Haroon
Hi, yes you can. You can use one WPML subscription for all the sites you build, for all of your (or your customers’) domains.
Hi,
if i have a german website and want to specifically target each german speaking country here (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) so that SE know that the offer is meant for all 3 countries is this Plugin also useful for me?
Greetings
Yes, WPML is also useful in that case. You just need to set the following languages along with their codes:
German – Austria de-at
German – Germany de-de
German – Switzerland de-ch
Wow, thanks for the quick reply!
So will WMPL setup URLs and tags, etc. automatically? Like I just “tell” it, this is Austria de-at, this ist germany de-de, etc. and I get a url structure? Is it clear what I mean?
Sorry in advance for stupid questions 🙂
Hi
I am interested in WPML, do you have trial version ?
Thanks
The only way to check if WPML works for you is to buy it keeping our refund policy in mind.
