  1. Hello!
    I have a small company website, with woocommerce and just 3-4 products.

    Is it the “multilingual blog” enough to translate all of it, or will I require the “multilingual CMS”?

  2. Right now, my wordpress site is in English, as the original theme language. (www.site.com -> display English)

    I want my site to have the major language Vietnamese (www.site.com -> display Vietnamese), and user can press the button to change the site language to be english, as a minor site language (www.site.com/en -> display English).

    In this case, at which process WPML can support my need?

    Whether it helps me change to major language to Vietnamese. (www.site.com -> display Vietnamese)
    Or it helps me create the minor language, english, from the major language, (ww.site.com/en -> display English)?

    Can I upgrade from MUltilingual Blog to Multilingual CMS and pay the difference only? Or I have to pay full price of Multilingual CMS if I want to switch?

    • Hello Andrei,
      Yes you can buy the Blog version first and then upgrade to CMS for the difference only (50$ more). Note: when yuo upgrade you will not extend the subscription renewal date. So, if you upgrade one month before the expiry date you will still need to renew on the original expiry date.

          yes, if you upgrade from CMS to Lifetime, you also pay the difference but please note that we have plans to remove the Lifetime offer in the nearest future. Before we do so, we will send you an email so that you can to upgrade to a Lifetime account for a few more weeks. Of course anyone who already has a Lifetime account will continue getting lifetime updates and support, as promised.

    • You need to log into your WPML account and you will find all the links there. You just need to click on the one you need and proceed to the checkout.

    I want to set up separate english versions of my site for US, Canada, Australia and the UK, can i do this with your software, ie create a language version for each that is then geo directed to the country version.

    Hopefully i can do this, if not you should allow to create a new language or something to allow this.

  6. Hi, i will to buy your plugin but i am confusing about what is the different between the 29 and 79, is that only affect backend? I just want some plugin for displaying different language in the frontend, which one is better for me?

    Do you have a real demo access for me to test about it?

    If i buy the 29 package, can i pay extra to upgrade 79 package?

    Also if i dont renew the plugin, is that i cant update the plugin or i cant use the plugin after it expiry?

    • Hello Gary,
      with the 29 version you won’t translate any additional strings, just basic elements such as posts, pages, menus, categories, tags so this one is good only for simple websites such as blogs. But you can start with the Blog subscription and upgrade to the CMS later for the difference in purchase price.

      If you don’t upgrade, the plugin you have installed wil continue working, you lose access to future releases and our support help.

    I have a question regarding the version pricing. If I would purchase for the first year the multilingual CMS of 79$ and after one year I want to move to the Lifetime version. Is this possible? What would be the price after one year?

    Or will I need to stay with the annual renewal of 39$?

      Thanks for your interest. You are welcome to buy the CMS subscription and then upgrade to lifetime for the difference (116$ more). Please note that we are planning to remove this offer in several weeks and it will not be available in a year’s time. However we will contact our users to let them know before so that they can upgrade if they haven’t done so yet.

    Do you have any idea if there is a real estate WordPress theme that has a build in WPML plugin for free. Your plugin is so amazing and can’t even comparing to rest plugins but unfortunately I am looking for cheaper plugin that is not costy to me.

    • Hello Adnan,
      you won’t find such a theme since we our policy doesn’t allow to bundle WPML to any theme. Even if a theme is 100% compatible with WPML, you need to use your version of WPML. Real Homes is a real estet theme that works very well with WPML.

        • This theme hasn’t been tested by our Compatiblity Team but judging on what I found in their change logs on this page it seems to support WPML very well.

          I’m sorry, we don’t have any discounts but you can buy the $79 and upgrade to the Lifetime later for the difference in purchase price. Please note that we are going to have Lifetime subscriptions available only for a few more weeks/months (I don’t know exactly for how long) but before we change our subscription model we will notify our customers in advance so that these who want to upgrade to the Lifetime version will be able to do so before we remove the Lifetime option for good and of course they will have access to new releases and our support forum even if we change our pricing model.

    I am a WPML customer since several years and this morning I find my account closed. It seems that my subscription was valid until Jan.23, but this time I didn’t get any renewal alerts from you.
    I have checked my account: the contact address is correct and the contact preferences are set to receive “Expired WPML accounts” emails.
    I even still have your Jan.23 newsletter about “WPML Contractors” but I sure as hell didn’t receive any renewal alert (nor in my spam).

    Have you any evidence your server sent the email?
    Please private contact me to set a renewal process.

      yes, we can check our logs. If we didn’t send you that email, we will activate your account for a few more days so that you can renew it using the discount. I’m emailing our admins to check it but they will be able to check it tomorrow, on Monday. We will keep you posted.

      We might have an issue here then, because missing one email is already hard to believe for me (well, everyone can make mistakes, but I’m very watchful with that sort of things) but missing two of them is clearly not happening in my world.
      I don’t use any spam filter, just Gmail doing its job, and I always check my spam folder before deleting them (and I’m proud to say that I have rather few spam to deal with).

      Somehow your renewal emails are not making through to my mailbox (but your newsletter are…). Maybe I’m not alone in this case?
      I can mark my own personal agenda to prevent that sort of things from happening again, but I was counting on you on this one…
      Now could you please allow my renewal process or should I consider you don’t believe me?

    • Hello Kenny,
      your website used the Avada theme. Avada is compatible with 100%, verified by our Compatibility Team. You will need the CMS ($79) or the Lifetime ($195) subscription since only these two packages include extra WPML plugin that will allow you to translatale Avada’s additional elements.

      Renewals are optional. If you don’t renew, the WPML plugins that you installed will continue working but you lose access to future releases and our support help.

    I am looking at WPML to translate a site I am developing. The site is a classified ads site with the Classiads theme. I have two questions in regards to WPML:

    1) The theme developer recommends Loco Translate to translate the theme. Would I be able to use WPML to do the translations? Is it possible that using WPML would cause issues?

    2) I would like the site visitors to see the prices in their local currency based on their location, even if the ad itself is priced in a different currency. For example the ad is priced in USD but the visitor is from outside the US. Would it be possible for the visitor to view it in his local currency?

      thanks for your interest in WPML.

      1) You are welcome to use the Loco Translate plugin either with WPML or without WPML. Please note that the Loco Translate plugin doesn’t make your site multilingual. What the Loco Translate plugin does it provides you with a way to translate theme-dependent strings to your language. So for example you will be able to translate strings such as “Comments”, “Author”, “Category” and the like on your site’s front-end.

      WPML allows you to do that but only WPML allows you to translate your posts, pages and other elements of your site to different languages to make your site multilingual, meaning available in more than one language.

      I can see a note on the theme’ page that it is compatible with WPML but I’m not sure since it hasn’t been tested by our Compatibility Team.

      I don’t know how the prices are implemented in your theme. If as WordPress custom fields, there is a good chance they can detected by WPML and you will be able to translatem them. You would need to check it yourself. Our refund policy allows you to test WPML for 30 days without any risk.

  15. Hi! When our first WPML subscription expired we decided not to renew it bc we weren’t satisfied with how it worked. However, we kept on getting newsletters on recent improvements and we are willing to give it a try one more time.

    Would it be possible to get a non-paid trial period of 2 months?

      we provide one month trial period which works as follow:
      1. You buy WPML
      2. You test it for 30 days
      3. You can ask questions in our support forum
      if it turns out that you are not completely satisfied, you need to fill out this form and we will give your money back.

      Please note that the refund policy works for new account so you would need to buy WPML with a new email but let me double check with our admins.

      • Turns out that refunds can be issued for renewals as well. As long as it is within the 30 days we can refund all payments made to us.

    I am building a website for a client. They have used WPML in their previous site and want to use it again. Since they bought this, can we transfer the account. I have their WPML key
    Their previous webdesigner is no longer working anymore so I don’t know the account details

    • Hey Kim,
      if the previous designer purchased WPML on his/her behalf, you cannot transfer the subscription. You can use the version they have installed but if you need to upgrade, you need to buy a new license. If WPML was bought by your client and the subscription expired, please ask them to upgrade. Or you can buy one for yousef and you will be able to use it for all of your sites.

        The customer bought it and their previous designer installed it. Maybe it need to be upgraded but since the webdesigner is not around anymore we can’t check. Can you check if I send you the key? And if it is ok to use, how to continue? Just download plugin and use the key?

  17. We are building our new site under a temporary domain. Once complete, with WPML translations finished, we want to export the complete site using the WP All In One Migration plugin and import it to a new hosting account with our live/real domain name.

    Are there any challenges I should know about if I intend to move the site? I want to make sure I know what I’m getting into before purchasing the plugin and moving forward.

    I remember I had a pretty hard time a few years ago, running WordPress + WPML on nginx + PHP-fpm. After days of research, I finally understood that the frequent downtimes my website had was due to bug (or incompatibility, if you prefer) in WPML leading to memory segmentation faults.

    Can you confirm that this will no more be a problem with nginx 1.10 + PHP 7.2.1 + uptodate WordPress & WPML ?
