  1. Hi,

This plugin seems great for a client project, however, in the first instance, they only want to use the feature to change base price of English Pound in Euros, Us Dollar, Krona, etc.

Is it possible to use it in that way? They will add translations of the English pages soon.

    • WPML when used along with the WooCommerce plugin can help here but please note that using our WooCommerce Multilingual plugin makes sense if you want to run your store in a few languages (at least in two), which means that you trasnlate your products. If you don’t plan to translate your products and use WPML plugins only to provide your products in a few currencies, using WPML plugins is a kind of overkill.

  2. Hi,
I have already seen that it is possible to upgrade from Blog to CMS plan, but it is not clear if it is possible to upgrade from CMS to Lifetime plan?
If yes, can I upgrade paying the difference? Is there a limited time for applying?

    Thank you very much.
    Silvia

    • Hello Silvia,
Yes, you can upgrade to lifetime by paying the difference (116$ from CMS). You can upgrade at any time, but note we are planning to remove the offer as lifetime subscriptions will no longer be available. Don’t worry we will let all our users know before doing it so that they can upgrade if they haven’t yet.

      Best,

  3. Hi,
I have a web site in WP done by a designer. He put the WPML in order to have the multilingual website set in English French and Spanish. Now, it is not working, the Categories submenu is never synchronized as it schould.
    What should I do?
Is it a problem in my web site or is it because WPMl is not updated?
Could you tell me so that I do the right thing, or buy the right thing if I have to update it?

    Thanks
    Hélène

  4. Hi,

I am having problems purchasing WPML. Everytime, after I authorised with my bank it says “cant authorise, purchase failed”

Can some one look into that?

    Thanks

    • Hello Sebastian,
The error comes from your bank/credit card. Can you contact them as they will need to authorize this online transaction specifically? You are also welcome to try with another card or browser.

Let me know please how it goes.

      Best,

  5. I have a multi site/multi- language setup. Same company and root domain. But when someone places an order from say the English site, the inventory is not adjusted on the Spanish site. Does this plugin address this and if so, how?

  6. Hi, I am trying to buy WPML plugin, but when entering EU VAT number, the cart just keep spinning the wheel and never changes the VAT to 0 and I am not able to continue the checkout… VAT ID is correct, use it on different sites with no problem… Format is CZ280xxxxx

Can you check the checkout process please?

    Thank you

  7. Hello,
We are planning to migrate our ecommerce from Prestashop to Woocommerce and we want with multi-lingual functionality. Two questions:

    – Does this app only translates posts. Does it also provides multilingual support to e.g. automatic emails sent from the woocommerce (order confirmation, new registration, welcome email). When I purchase plugins to enrich the woocommerce (payment plugins, marketing tools etc) will WPML also be able to offer multilingual options? For example if I buy a advertising pop up banner will WPML allow me to be able to include two different messages according to the selected language of choice

    – I want to buy a theme because of its visual look but I am not sure it is multilingual. How difficult it is if I or a hired developer adds WPML to that theme to support multilingual?

    Regards,
    Juanca

      • Hi Mercedes, yes I have it,Hello, if I Upgrade to Multilingual CMS for life – $116.00
do I have the permission to use this plug in for all my life with unlimited websites?

        thanks a lot

        Silvia

  9. Hi,
I have purchased multilingual blog two years ago.

Now, i need to buy and install multilingual CMS, 79$, to translate theme´s categories and woocomerce products.

But before buy and install, I have a problem, because when i try to install woocommerce multilingual i have this messages:

*WooCommerce Multilingual is enabled but is not effective. It is not compatible with WPML versions prior to 3.4.

*WooCommerce Multilingual is enabled but not effective. It requires WPML Translation Management, WPML String Translation and WPML Media to work.

My problem is that I already have too many pages traslate in my website, and I’m afraid that if I delete the plugin in order to install the CMS multilungual, all my work could be lost.

So, how do I have to proceed in order not to lose the job that I already have done?

    Thank you!

    • Hello,
you don’t need to delete your current WPML plugin. You just need to upgrade it to the most recent version. The main WPML plugin for the Blog and CMS subscription is the same. Then, when you want to use WPML with WooCommerce, you will need a few other WPML plugins, all these plugins are included in the CMS subscription.

To sum up your steps should be:
      1. Upgrade your WPML account to the CMS version (you will find a link in your WPML account)
      2. Backup your site (just in case)
      3. In your WP, go to Plugins -> Add new -> Commercial tab and make sure your WPML plugins are registered.
      4. Upgrade WPML (WPML Multilingual CMS)
      5. From within the same panel install the other required plugins.

If you have further questions, our supporters will help.

  10. Hi- I have quite a few questions based upon the issues I’ve experienced with other plugins I’ve tried.

    1. Can you customize the exact text on the page after the translation?
    2. Can you customize the exact URL to a different language after the translation?
    3. Will the meta title and description translate after activating?
    4. Can I put the translated site on the root of the domain? For example, I would like for all spinecenteratlanta-es.com to be translated into spanish, not just spinecenteratlanta-es.com/es/.
    5. Which package for our domain spinecenteratlanta-es.com would you recommend?

    Thank you!

    Kristin

    • Hello Kristin,

thank you for your interest in WPML.

      To answer your questions.
      1. Please note that WPML doesn’t translate your content automatically. You need to provide the translations (or you can use of the professional translation services that are integrated with WPML, you pay extra for using these)
      2. Yes, you ca.
      3. No, it won’t happen automatically. Meta data can be translated using WPML as well but you need to use a SEO plugin compatible with WPML, please check this list.
      4. You need to pick one language that is going to be your site primary language. Then you add other languages – let’s call them secondary languages. Secondary languages will be available either in subfolders (yourdomain.com/fr, your domain.com/pl …) or as subdomains.
      5. Multilingual CMS (or Lifetime). Your site uses the Enfold theme which is compatible with WPML. To translate some strings provided only by this theme you will need to use the WPML String Translation plugin, which is not able in the Blog package (only in CMS/Lifetime).

  11. Hello 🙂 Yesterday i buyed Multilingual CMS via Paypal. I dont have a login name or password 🙁 I can not download the product. My ordernumber: Order #1559353

  12. Hi,

I just bought the plugin but I entered a wrong email address…
The link for the download will be sent to a email I don’t have.
    How can I resolve this?

    Thanks

  13. Hi

I need to do this client site in 2 languages “English and Thai”, i tryed with Plylang, but deleted it very quikly again.

    Now i have got:
WooCommerce Multilingual installed and it comes and tell, that i need:
    WPML
    WPML Translation Management
    WPML String Translation
and WPML Media in order to work.

How much will this cost to complete ????

And do you offer a refund, if i dont get it to work??

    Best regards

    • Hello Michael,

      1. All these plugins are included either in the “Multilingual CMS” subscription” ($79) or in the “Multilingual CMS Lifetime” ($195).
      2. Yes, if it doesn’t work, please fill out this form and we will give your money back. You will have 30 days to test WPML after the purchase.
      https://wpml.org/purchase/refunds-policy/

  14. i need to translate my website to georgian and russian language. I need to edit some of the translated words after using your plugin. I am planning to buy Multilingual
CMS Lifetime foe $195 one. please confirm if it will support after translation manual editing of words?
also do you have any trial version for the Multilingual CMS Lifetime plugin so that I can try and then purchase?
    please confirm ASAP.

    • Hello,
currently we don’t have such an option but we will have in the near future. Once we have it, we will announce it on our wpml blog. Now you need to provide your translations. We don’t have any trial version but our refund policy allows you to buy WPML and test it for 30 days. If it turns out that you are not completely satisfied, fill out this form and we will refund your order.

  15. Not really useful. Il will be very appreciated to give every body a chance to open tickets for technical issue and not only to people who purchased the product. In many cases, people can suggest enhancement and tips for resolution of issues.
In may case, i would only know your opinion about the following :

If the table named wp_icl_string_pages is too big and causes the site to be very slow, what happens if i eliminate the duplicate records in this tables?
Basically, the table has non natural key but only a PRIMARY key based on auto_increment column. Then, over time based on string_id and url_id values, we found that many duplicate records exist for the same values of these fields.
If we eliminate the duplicate records, the table will be very small end the performance gain is very high.

    The steps are :

    1. Create an empty table ( wp_icl_string_pages_new) with the same structrure as wp_icl_string_pages
    2. Insert into wp_icl_string_pages_new ( string_id , url_id) select distinct string_id,url_id from wp_icl_string_pages;
    3. rename wp_icl_string_pages to wp_icl_string_pages_old
    4. rename wp_icl_string_pages_new to wp_icl_string_pages

This will help many people who don’t want to perfrom upgrade to new version.

    Thanks
    Stofa

        • Hello, yes. Please see:

“Agnes, you’re right that this table doesn’t contain any natural keys only primary id and it is correct. Moreover, it shouldn’t have any duplicated values, are you sure that they are exactly the same or maybe there are some small differences?

I think your solution won’t solve the problem because duplicated values shouldn’t be there and it means that customers have come across some unknown bug. If they clean the table now I am afraid, that it will be re-populated with wrong values again. We must ask them for duplicator package and try to explain how did it happen.”

So you would need to open a new ticket in our support forum, provide access to your site and then our developers will create a copy and debug it for you.

  16. Dear WPML team,
I am in the process of building a multilingual website with the help of WPML plugins. One important question troubles me: I understand that I can include country flags in my menu and those flags automatically show the correct link of the translated version of any specific page. Great! Do you know if this also works if I use the nav menu widget of Elementor page builder? The widget allows me to choose on of my saved menus and include it wherever I want it to appear on the website.

    Best
    R

    • Dear Reimer,
thank you for your interest in WPML. In WPML setting you have an option to add the language switcher to any of your menus. So you would need to approach it in two steps: 1. add your language switch ter to the menu you want 2. Add this menu to the navigation menu widget and it will work fine.

    • Hi!
Yes we do. Actually you can even add your own language and your own flag with WPML. I hope this helps.
      Have a nice day!

      Marine

      • Please let me know how to add new georgian language in the website…actually my website is now in georgian language and i need the site to be translated in english and Russian.

        Please huide me asap.

        Thanks in adavance

        • Hello,

WPML comes with 60 pre-configures languages (including English and Russian) but also allows you to add your own language manually (Such as Georgian)
Georgian is not in the “popular” list, so you will need to add the language yourself.

          Don’t worry it’s very easy:
          – Go to WPML->Languages and click on the ‘Edit languages’ link.
          – Add the label “Georgian”, the language code and your own flag.

Please watch this short video, you’ll see how to add a language: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gbdbEOQA0Kw

Regarding English and Russian, you don’t need to manually add the language, you can simply check the boxes in our languages list as they are pretty popular languages.

I hope the video helps you to understand the process. Please write to us again if you have any questions.

            • By “flag” Marine meant the icon next to the language name that represents the country. For example look at the footer of this page (or at the header, next to the search field) and you will see which flats we use here at wpml.org in our language switcher. I hope it helps.

  17. Hello,

I am interested to find out if WPML plugin (with lifetime subscription) can be used not only on one but on multiple websites.
Additionally, I saw a comment that the lifetime subscription will be canceled. What does that mean for people who already have lifetime subscription? will you downgrade their account or will they keep the lifetime subscription?

    Thanks!

    • Hello Tom,

Thanks for your interest in WPML!
You can use WPML on an unlimited number of websites, even with a yearly license.

It’s true that the lifetime subscription is going to disappear soon, however if you buy a lifetime account now, we will honour it and we will not downgrade your account. All the existing lifetime accounts will not be impacted by this change, don’t worry.

      I hope it helps!

      Marine

  18. Hi,

I am using LMS theme and also want to integrate multi language for my website. And I am using now this theme http://lms.dttheme.com/ . I want to confirm that this plugin will compatible with theme. because I also used polylang pluging but that create fatal errors with this theme. Please confirm!

    Thanks

    • WPML will not cause fatal errors, but I don’t think that you will be able to translate everything that the LMS produces. Can you tell me what you intend to translate and how you want to run this site multilingual?

  19. Hi, i am using the twenty seventeen theme but it has been customized and some parts are hard-coded by my developer. Was wondering if such cases affects the installation and use of WPML? Also, can we know when will the lifetime subscription cease to exist?

    Thank you.

    • If you added custom code to TwentySeventeen theme, all you need to do is make sure that all texts are wrapped with GetText calls and use a Textdomain. Also, be sure to only use the WordPress API to load and display content. If this is the case, WPML will work with your custom code just fine.

We are going to stop offering NEW Lifetime accounts in a few weeks. Any existing Lifetime accounts will continue to work unchanged. Meaning, if you buy a Lifetime account, you get a Lifetime account. In the future, it will just not be available to buy it.

  20. Hallo,

Prior to buying one of the Multilingual CMS Lifetime or Multilingual CMS product I’ve some questions.

    1. My company is located in Sofia, Bulgaria with registered VAT (easily checked through VIES). That means I’m VAT excluded for EU buying outside Bulgaria. What is the procedure to pay my VAT Excluded invoice?
    2. Can I pay through bank transfer? If not there is no problem, as I can pay you through a debit card.
    3. My company has, besides their own sites, being building and supporting clients sites. I’m thinking to buy my company the Lifetime version and for the rest of the clients (for each one of them the Multilingual CMS). I cannot understand what it means “upgrades for 1 year”. Does it mean that the wordpress will be 9.1 for example and I won’t have access to WPML updates following the wordpress or the templates updates?

The sooner you answer my questions the sooner i’ll proceed to checking out. Preferably today.

    Kind Regards

    • 1. In our payment page, enter your VAT number. Our system validates it and takes out the VAT from your charge (you see the correct amount before going to payment).

      2. We use PayPal and 2Checkout for payment processing. PayPal offers e-checks, which are effectively wire transfers. For that, you need to create a PayPal account and follow some of their steps. Otherwise, you can pay with any credit or debit card without registering in PayPal.

      3. If your company builds sites for clients, you only need to buy one account of WPML. You can use it for your own site, as well as for sites that you build for your clients. If you buy a yearly account ($79), you get updates and support for one year. Then, you can renew at a discounted price.

      I hope this helps.
