  1. It looks like some kind of fraud.
I’ve bought Agency account with unlimited sites for old price, but now it turns into account with just 3 sites available. How come?
That’s not the thing that should happen. i’m very angry about that.

    • That’s why we have this offer for customers like you:

“we will invite everyone with yearly accounts to upgrade their accounts to the new Agency accounts (which have no limits on the number of site). This upgrade will be for free. You will not need to pay anything extra and you will still be able to build unlimited sites. Anyone who takes advantage of this upgrade will lock-in the yearly renewals at $59 and still receive unlimited sites. After this, people who buy new Agency accounts will pay the full price.”

      • I received that email for this Agency accounts at $59 per year but can’t find where to buy the renewal on the website. Can you please put a direct link in your email so we don’t have to search?
        Thanks in advance

        • Hello Alexandre.
We couldn’t include a direct the link since you needed to log into your account first. The offer has already expired.

          • Dear staff,

I have received the following mail, but I am having problems during the upgrade/renewal process.

“The price of the WPML account for unlimited sites has been revised from $79 to $159.
Since your account offered unlimited sites when you bought it and we don’t want to charge you more now, we created a special offer for you. You can set-up automatic account renewals and continue getting new WPML versions at the old pricing.

This means that you can get yearly renewals for WPML for $59 instead of $119.
Take advantage of this offer by logging in to your WPML account and following the renewal instructions.

This is a one-time offer and will expire on July/11/2018, so hurry!”

As I have added the date in my calendar, today, July/11/2018 ( intended to be last day), I was upgrading to the Multilingual Agency ( as per the previous profile paid in my account) but I have noticed that the renewal fees will be $119 instead of $59.

I want to proceed with the upgrade I was supposed to get, please I need assistance in the purchasing phase and to make sure the renewal fees will be $59 .

I look forward to hearing from you as soon as possible.

            Thanks,

            Laura

            • Hello Laura,
please contact us using this form:
              https://wpml.org/home/contact-us/contact-form/

and we will help you to make this upgrade. Simply copy-paste everything you posted here into the form. It will reach the person who can help you and it will simplify our communication. Sorting out such issues is difficult via comments for pre-sale questions. Thank you.

  2. But, I think that’s not the reason to switch my current account to something I didn’t buy, until my period end.

    • You can upgrade to the $59 and we can refund you $20. Please contact us using this email: hello@wpml.org and we will sort that out for you. You can cancel your “new” subscription at any time.

  3. Hi, I have a client with WPML on their existing site, installed by the previous Web Developers. Now that they have me redesigning the site with a duplicate of the live site on their staging area, we would like to retain access to the existing copy of WPML. The agency has supplied them with the plugin licence key, but I have no idea on the status of the subscription. What are our next steps?

    • Hello Carolyn,
I will need a possible name or e-mail address used to register the account or the url where WPML is installed.

      Let me know.

      Thanks,

      • the website is http://adstv.on.ca/

The client is Addiction Services of Thames Valley.

this is the email that was forwarded to me, so not sure if it’s in the agencies name or client’s name. Could also be in the name of Denise Cooke, she was with ADSTV when the website was first created.

  4. I was going to take advantage of the renewal offer but can’t see and terms and conditions anywhere. I’m not signing up to indefinite automatic renewals!

    • Hello Cherry,
You are welcome to cancel the subscription at any time. Let me know if you have any other specific question.

      Kind regards,

  5. Hi friends,
I have an account without automatic renewal and I pay $47.19 a year.
I recieved your email explaining the changes for the accounts.
Does that changes affect to my account?
Do I have to upgrade my account?
    Many thanks in advance.

    • Hello,
Yes the changes affect your account too. You are welcome to log in and you will see a link to upgrade to Agency for free and set up the automatic renewals. Let me know if you have any further question.

  6. Dear WPML support team,

I got form your colleague Amir an email reminding me the year subscription (see below my comment) ,

Thanks for your reminder me. However I understand my subscription to wpml.org will expire on middle of October, as I paid last year in that time (please see your email sent October 13 2017 and mentioning the “50% of the original cost while your subscription is still valid”.
I am happy to pay but I think it’s early to renew the subscription. Could you please explain to me if this time WP is asking in advance but still the subscription last until October 2019, or if for any reason WPML is changing the length of subscription or there is another reason?
Also, I would like to know what are the advantages of this year subscription and what would happened if I don’t get it?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Asunto: You can still save $100 on WPML renewal (expires soon)

    Hi Monica,

I wrote to you a few days ago about the changes in WPML accounts. I hope that you received that email.

The price of the WPML account for unlimited sites has gone up from $79 to $159. Your account has expired, which means that you’d normally need to pay the full price to get new versions of WPML.

Since you bought from us in the past and we’ve increased the price since then, we have created a special offer for you. You can set-up automatic account renewals and continue accessing new versions of WPML at the old pricing.

This means that you can get yearly renewals for WPML for $59 instead of the full price of $159 + yearly renewals of $119.

With WordPress 5.0 and Gutenberg approaching quickly, it’s even more important to have all your plugins up-to-date.

Log in to your WPML account now and follow the instructions to set up your renewal.
This is a one-time offer and will expire on July/11/2018, so so hurry!

    All the best,

    Amir from WPML team

    • Hello Monica,
I see your subscription expired in October last year. If you log in to your account you will see the offer to upgrade to Agency for 59$, at a special rate for existing users. Note the offer is valid until July 11th.

Let me know if you have any further question.

  7. The last mail I received at 27/06/2018 mentions that

    Hi THEODOROS,

Early today, we finally updated the accounts system for WPML.

    Some accounts FAQ:
    • There’s no change for people who already had Lifetime accounts – no additional charge and you get downloads and support for life.
    • We’re no longer selling new Lifetime accounts.
    • Yearly accounts offer automatic renewal.
    • There are new limits on the number of sites that WPML accounts allow registering.
    • Lifetime accounts still offer unlimited sites.

At your newer mail 29/06/2018 & 04/07/2018 you have asked $59/year renewal.
I’cant understand if “no additional charge and you get downloads and support for life” is valid
or it is changed from 27/06/2018 to 29/06/2018

    • Hello, I checked the account assigned to the email you posted your comment with and you have the Multilingual CMS package that will expire on October 12, 2018. So you can ignore everything that refers to Lifetime account. You are also welcome to upgrade to the Agency account so that you will be able to renew in the future for $59

      • Still I don’t understand if with my my old lifetime account this term is valid?

“with no additional charge and you get downloads and support for life”

        • If you have another account (with a different email) and it’s a Lifetime account, nothing changes – you can use WPML for many websites, you will receive updates and you can use our support help. But I didn’t find any Lifetime account for the email you entered in your comment.

                • I’m sorry. We are getting lots of emails because of the last changes and checking things takes time. We will check your status to sort out your case and I will keep you posted. Sorry for the inconvenience.

                • We checked your data again, using the order that you provided and I confirm that you have only the Multilingual CMS account. If you are interested in upgrading it to the Agency account using the special offer that we described in the email, please note that it has already expired and you won’t be able to do so directly from your account. But please email us using this form: https://wpml.org/home/contact-us/contact-form/ and we will arrange something for you.

  8. I would like to modify my company’s webpage from one language to multilanguage by using a WordPress plugin instead of creating a multisite. We only are offering our services in the Netherlands, but we would like to attract new customers (from abroad but living in the Netherlands). According to the research I did, a multilanguage plugin will do fine.

Since the WPML widgets I found on the WordPress dashboard are not tested in the theme that I am using (fruitful) I am very hesitant to install this widget. I read some reviews on other plugins that caused a lot of stress (e.g. deleting content) and this is certainly not something I am looking forward to. I know the basics how to solve small problems, but I am not an IT expert.

I would like to know is how safe it is to install the plugin on my website? Could I download from the dashboard, or is it better to install separately through my webhost?

    Please advise! Thanks in advance

    • Hello Sandra,
WPML is used on about 600 000 sites now and since so many customers have trusted us I guess it’s safe to install it on your website as well :-). You install WPML by downloading a zip file and then uploading it through your dashboard (Plugins -> Add new). If you have issues with translating your widgets, please ask our support for help. You can also ask for a refund if it turns out that WPML is not for you: https://wpml.org/purchase/refunds-policy/

  9. I never had an unlimited sites account and still receive your mail to update. I have a Multilingual Blog account which Expires on 2019-08-02 so please update your marketing database accordingly. Last year was the same issue.

    • Hello, my colleagues who sent these emails explained to me that it was indented since the owners of the Multilingual Blog can also benefit from this offer.

          • Quote: “Since you bought WPML at the original price of $79, we want to allow you to access new versions of WPML without paying the higher cost. For the next two weeks (until July/11/2018), you can set up automatic renewal for your account at a rate of $59 / year (instead of $119 / year)”. This is not true.

  10. Hello to the WPML Team,

I got an reminder that i have to make renewal from my account. All the years when i was using WPML i had allways the Multilingual package for the the price 79.- for all my websites. The last renewal i made this year in February. And now i got reminder for the upgarde.

You changed really the package content of the Multilingual package from “ulimited website” to “3 websites”????!!!!!

So if i want use wpml for all projects were i have now WPML from my customers, i have to upgrade now again with 59.-??????

    Regards Silvan

    • Hello,
no, this upgrade will be for free now (for customers who have active Multilingual CMS accounts) and it will lock-in your future yearly renewals at $59.

      • Sorry Agnes, but maybe the internal WPML support should speak together…Mercedes Barreda wrotte just now an answer that ” yes i have to pay 59 for renewal my account”, so i will pay not again money for something what i paid already for this year and even i got no imformation about this change before, that i could decide self what i will do with my customers…Thats an absoultly NO GO what made WPML yet. I will not renewal my account and i will tell my customers that the should use WPML never again, because WPML will do this always in the future. So i am finish with WPML…

Thanks Agnes for your time to answer

        bye

    • Hello,
thank you for your interest in WPML. It will work but in order to receive and do automatic updates directly from your WordPress panel, you will need to generate a new key and update it in your WordPress.

  11. If I agree to the one-time offer to upgrade my WPML account to Agency, can I quit the update or payment? Or does it automatically renew every year?

  12. Hi,

I have a client who is thinking of using this, the main worry is will this slow down the website at all and can you hide unnecessary sections depending on role? (role capabilities)

    Thanks

    • Using WPML can slow the website a bit in a natural way since there will be additional content and additional database requests. Best would be to buy WPML and test it yourself keeping our refund policy in mind.

      https://wpml.org/purchase/refunds-policy/

You can hide some section using the Toolset Access plugin which we provide for our WPML users.

  13. I have a WPML Starter account and I need to have string translation option on it. Which plan should I choose? Multilingual CMS? It’s urgent, thanks

    • The Blog (Starter) subscription doesn’t include the String Translation. You need to buy either the Multilingual CMS or the Agency subscription. Both include the same set of plugins. You can register only 3 site with the Multilingual CMS but you can upgrade to the Agency subscription later.

  14. Hello,
Is it possible to get trial license to check if WPML will be compatible with custom theme?

    Thanks

  15. I see many people have similar complaints above.

I have been trying to make sense of all the emails I’ve received about a “free upgrade” and “complementary(??? what are they complementing?) upgrades”. Simple fact seems to be, this is double-speak and I’m being ripped off. I purchased WPML’s “most popular” version a little over a year ago, with unlimited sites, and while I haven’t renewed for updates and support, I’m now being told I can only build three sites with WPML – unless I renew and continue to renew at $59. And at that price only if I act by tomorrow. Why in the world would I do that, when On The Go has just proven that we can’t trust that we’re getting what we pay for?

    • Hello,
thank you for your feedback. Yes, we’ve changed the pricing to be able to maintain WPML in the future and provide better support for our customers. I will check with our management if there is anything else we can do for customers like you.

  16. Hi,

I’m confused, we have the “Multilingual CMS for life” (unlimited sites) but still got a message per mail that the one-time offer is expired.
Will the current version no longer receive updates of the plugin, did we miss the boat here?

What will change for us or are we still good?

    Kind regards,
    Ronald

    • Nothing has changed for customers who have the “Multilingual CMS for life”. Maybe you have more than one account or you got that email by mistake.

      • Not aware of any other account, so I think we received that mail by mistake.
We’ll ignore it for now, thanks for checking Agnes.

  17. Hi,

I have an account with WPML and it expired 1 year ago. I didn’t renew my account by purchasing the Multilingual Agency WPML. Do I still have the Multilingual Blog in history and could I upgrade to Multilingual Agency or do I have to buy Agency from scratch? The thing is I keep receiving this email from WPML:
    “Hi SC Jinxit,

I wrote to you a few days ago about the changes in WPML accounts. I hope that you received that email.

The price of the WPML account for unlimited sites has gone up from $79 to $159. Your account has expired, which means that you’d normally need to pay the full price to get new versions of WPML.

Since you bought from us in the past and we’ve increased the price since then, we have created a special offer for you. You can set-up automatic account renewals and continue accessing new versions of WPML at the old pricing.

This means that you can get yearly renewals for WPML for $59 instead of the full price of $159 + yearly renewals of $119.”
and I thought I could renew my WPML but when I entered on my WPML account it said it is no longer active. What does that mean?

    Please help! Thank you!
    Andreea

  18. Hi also tried today to take advantage of the offer for multisite CMS at $59 a year, but offer not showing up when I access my control panel. Can I write somewhere about it. Thanks.
