Hi Mercedes , I did not got any mail apart from the support-mails. But I got a paypal-confirmation… Can we switch to a non public conversation somehow?
I have couple language neutral pages. Can I assign more than 1 language to a page so they appear in the different languages or is there another way to show 1 page (without duplicating the page because I want to maintain only 1 page) in the different languages?
Hello, WPML allows you to display the same content for multiple languages if needed. You can do it both for individual pages or even for a whole (custom) post type, if needed. Also, you can leave some of your pages completely without translations.
I have 1 production website, however I also have a corresponding dev and test website. Changes (new theme, new plugins, update of plugins, …) pass first in dev, next in test and finally in prod. How many licences do I need?
You only need one account for WPML. You don’t have to register WPML for development sites. You should register it for your production site, so it receives automatic updates.
Hello Ruslan,
Thanks for your interest. I am afraid the lifetime subscription has been removed and we are not selling it anymore. You can see the current options here https://wpml.org/purchase/. We now offer yearly subscriptions with automatic renewals.
some web-site admin used wpml plugin for ecom.ngo
Now we can’t restore account information used by admin for getting wpml, and have difficulties with prolong subscription.
Can you check your customers database to help us to restore e-mail address / account used for
search string “ecom.ngo”
If it will not be found
I (as a freelancer) want to purchase the subscription, when the job will be finished i want to transfer this subscription with all wpml account information to my customer who owns the site. Please instruct me how to do it.
I’m interested for purchasing the Multilingual CMS offer but I have a question : If i buy it, is it for lifetime and once the first year is passed there is no more updates and support or will I have to renew every year to maintain my access to your product ?
I guess this question has been already asked a million times so apologizes in advance.
Hello Mathieu,
Thanks for your interest and your question does not bother 🙂 The subscription is yearly and after it expires you will have to renew if you want to keep access to downloads, updates and support. You can keep using the files you have downloaded and installed. Nothing will stop working on your site.
Hi, we decided to go with WPML a few months ago but did not have time to start. Now we do and I was about to purchase a lifetime account only to discover it being removed. Please contact me.
Hello Verdi,
Thanks for your interest. I am afraid the lifetime subscription has been removed and we are not selling it anymore. You can see the current options here https://wpml.org/purchase/. We now offer yearly subscriptions with automatic renewals.
We are looking to connect our preferred Translation Management Service Organization, Language Wire, with WordPress. They do not currently have an integration to WordPress. Would WPML be a solution? Globalization Partners International has told me that they use WPML to do this for their translation services, however we want to use Language wire as our translation vendor.
Helo Matthew,
Thanks for your interest. Yes we will be happy to integrate with the other translation service. Please ask themto contact us here and we will get back to them with furtger details.
I want to develop a site for ads in two languages. the problem is that I want to translate just the user interfaces (menus, buttons ..) and not the contents. each visitor will be able to choose the interface that suits him and write his announcement in his language. most importantly, I would like these multilingual ads to be listed in the same type of category for example (automotive category, real estate category ..) regardless of the language of writing. the reason for this is that when a visitor starts a search, he will have all the corresponding items in the result regardless of the language.
thank you in advance for telling me if your plugin can help me do this job.
Hello Salim,
WPML handles the multilingual part, which means allows you to translate either your content or parts of your interface (custom fields, post types, buttons, labels etc, provided your theme/plugin is compatible with WPML). Have you already decided what solutions (theme, plugins, post types, maybe custom coding) you would use to implement such a site? One option would be to use Toolset plugins, since we are compatible but still what you are trying to implement is a little bit unusual since you plan to mix the content coming from different languages.
I understand you can do all of it with WPML, which is great. I am just confused because one of your tickets told me “you can share DA and linkjuice across domains”. Which goes against everything we know in the SEO community.
I want to purchase “Multilingual Plugin” for my website.
I developed website using “Jobmonster – Job Board WordPress Theme” (Url : https://themeforest.net/item/jobmonster-job-board-wordpress-theme/10965446).
I want to confirm from you guys that
Is “Multilingual Plugin” supporting Jobmonster theme?
If yes then i will purchase it for my website.
Please confirm ASAP.
I bought a B&B (2 years ago) and took over the website. This website was build by ??? and they used WPML.
Everything was going well till now. I got a mail from the host with the announcement that my (and many more) websites will go down because it is running on PHP 5.x and they are changing to PHP 7.1 (as from 1-11-18).
All plugins and theme’s are up-to-date but the website is going down when I change it to PHP 7.1. I don’t get errors, only warnings like:

Hi, I want to purchase your plugin, and decided to buy Multi lingual blog for only 1 website.
The question is that i’m designig the web in my server, and finally i’ll migrate to destination.
The web test is here http://u-serexperience.com/pruebas/artal/ and destination is at http://www.artal.net/
So… I suppose that i’ll get a license key, and when i decide to migrate, i clean the license key registry from web test, and then again i re-registrer in detination… Am I wrong?
Do I explain well?
Thanks
Hello Álvaro,
Yes, you have explained yourself well and this is how it works. You are welcome to delete the test url and register the live site when it’s ready, so that you receive the automatic updates.
Question for you about how the sliders work for the English and Japanese sites. Can you have distinct sliders for each site? Example: English, you have sliders about A, B, C, D products and on Japanese homepage you have sliders about A, C, E products? Does that make sense?
It really depends on what you are using to create the slider. But generally speaking, yes, you should be able to do that.
If you run into any issues with this we can help you resolve it in our support forum: https://wpml.org/forums/forum/english-support/
I am looking to potentially purchase WPML, but before I do, I want to ensure that I can carefully curate the translations before publishing. I have a client that would like things written/said a certain way, sometimes I may need to be able to copy and paste their actual translated copy.
Sure you can do this with WPML. You can translate yourself or you can let your client translate content and you proofread it. By default, WPML doesn’t do automatic translation for you. We offer machine translation as a way to quickly start your translation, but this is entirely optional and you should always review and polish automatic translation before publishing it.
Please note that Google may have indexing problems with your site when you enable this feature. It’s not related to WPML, but to how Google will not be able to see some content that you redirect from.
Hi
I’m working on a WP blog-extention for our website, using Divi.
The blog is being build on my localhost using XAMMP. Can I use the same API-key on both the live site (when migreted to http://www.danitalia.com) AND on my localhost?
Our company have more than one domain: Is it a “one-domain-only” API or may I use it for more than one domain under the same company?
Hello Lone,
Thanks for asking. You are welcome to use WPML on your development site without registering it, as the subscription key is used to receive automatic updates. You are also welcome to register it, then delete it from your account and register the live site. You will need separate keys for different urls. Note the CMS subscription allows to register up to 3 sites, whereas the Agency allows for unlimited sites.
The CMS subscription allows to register up to 3 sites (yes, domains, doesn’t matter if it’s your localhost or a public domain) but registration is required only to receive (and do) automatic updates directly from your WP dashboard. You can always unregister one of these and register again. No problem.
I would like to undesrtand what flexibility offer you software:
I have an old WPML licence that was included in my AVADA theme purchase (it was years ago)
Now it’s expired and I want to know if it is “legal” to copy and use the wpml plugin files via ftp on other/multiple sites without activation
Can I do it? Will it work? Are there some legal problems to do that? Is there a way to know some website using your code without licence?
Hello Kost,
are you sure WPML was included in your Avada purchase? I cannot recall anything like this. Theme authors can make their theme WPML compatible but you always need to buy WPML from us. We don’t allow embedding WPML in themes for sale. Anyway, we allow using old files even if your WPML account has expired but we recommended using the most recent version of WPML. We are fixing bugs on regular bases and we make sure the recent version is compatible with WordPress.
Hello, I have already translated majority of my theme using the free alternatives but there are some extra strings that I need to translate that these plugins can’t do.
Does your plugin integrate with polylang and loco translate since the majority of my translations are already made?
Hello Nick,
Thanks for your interest. We have a migration plugin for Polylang https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/migrate-polylang-wpml/
As for Loco translate I don’t think we have anything pre-cooked, but let me check the options with the technical team. I will let you know via e-mail.

A question.
I was told that with you it’s possible to translate across different domains .com, .de, etc. and also keep the linkjuice flowing across domains.
In other words, if I have a link back coming from NY times to the .com, the .de receives link equity.
Is this true?
Thanks
James
Hello James,
yes, WPML can serve different languages from different domains or sub-domains. For this to work, some setup is required in your web server. https://wpml.org/2016/04/use-wpml-different-domains-per-language/
Dear Agnes,
That part I understood. But from a SEO perspective – https://yoast.com/domain-structures-for-international-and-multilingual-seo/ – different domains have different DAs. The only way to keep the DA and share linkjuice is via subdirectories.
I understand you can do all of it with WPML, which is great. I am just confused because one of your tickets told me “you can share DA and linkjuice across domains”. Which goes against everything we know in the SEO community.
Can you clarify the point?
Hello Stefano,
Let me ask our lead developer for his opinion. I will keep you posted.
Hello Stefano,
For what concerns languages in domains and SEO, WPML takes care of two main aspects:
– Canonical: it makes sure the canonical of a page is unique
– hreflang: it renders them in the headers
It also has some additional logic to play nicely with WPSEO (sitemap, custom canonical URLs, etc.).
Other than that, the SEO aspect is up to the site’s developer (through custom code or plugins).
> I am just confused because one of your tickets told me “you can share DA and linkjuice across domains”
Can you elaborate? I don’t know what ticket it is and it’s hard to put this sentence in the right context.
In this article, we also explain that “There’s no way to somehow tell Google to magically distribute your link juice between your two sites”.

No, there isn’t. Redirect is based on the language configured in the browser:

Hello. Is Valenciano or Valencià included in your list of languages?
Thancks.
Not by default, but you can easily add these languages (and any other custom language) to WPML, via the WPML->Languages->Add Languages menu.
Can it automatically detect user’s country and set the language?
Yes, WPML can detect the browser’s language. Have a look here to see how it works:

I hope you mean different servernames/domains e.g. http://www.mysite.com – and not url’s http://www.mysite.com/faq? ?

Meaning that I may use the same subscription key across 3 different live domains/servernames e.g. http://www.mysite.com + http://www.mysite02.com + http://www.mysite03.com?

Hi,
I have a few questions.
1. Do installs on subdomains count as one site? In case I am purchasing Multilingual CMS where I can use wpml on 3 sites.
2. Can I use WPML without account renewal? Or is account renewal only necessary for updates and support?
Thanks
I answered your questions already:
