    Sorry for posting this here… I have no WPML account because this is for my client’s site and the previous web designer had a licence but not me. There is currently a problem with the WPML plugin on the website : lerouge.ca

    Even if they are properly linked to each others, some products are not being updated whenever I change the title or I change the featured image. Here is a list of some of them (maybe there is more that I’m not aware of):

    I thought maybe the cache plugin was causing this, so I cleared all cache and deactivated WP Rocket. But the problem persist.

    Please let me know how I can communicate my login credentials so you can have a look. All my plugins and wordpress is up to date. I had a chat with a tech support from WPMU Dev, they had a look into it but couldn’t find the source of the problem.

      we provide support help only through our support forum and only for customers with active WPML accounts. If the WPML license was purchased by the previous developer with his email address it means that only that developer can use our support forum. But if the WPML has been purchased and registered by your current client, you may ask your client for access to his/her WPML account and then open a new forum thread.

      I’m sorry I wasn’t much help but we don’t provide technical help in pre-sale questions. You can also consider purchasing WPML for yourself. The Multilingual CMS license will allow you to use it for 3 sites.

      • Honestly, this kind of answer doesn’t make me consider buying WPML… I mean I understand your logic behind it, but the client paid indirectly for this plugin and would expect it to work properly no matter who’s got the licence. I’m not asking basic questions like “how the plugin works?”… I’m pointing out a bug in the plugin itself and just asking to receive a fair level of support… I’ve heard you got hacked and all your users got spammed and been ask to change their passwords. Doesn’t really make me want to buy a licence…

        • If your client already has an account but he’s not using it, and he’s willing to transfer that account to you, we can move it. With the permission of the account holder, we can change it to be under your name and email. Then you can receive updates and technical support to the plugin that’s been paid for already.

  3. Hello, I am not quite sure that I fully understand the pricing scheme. Can you please clarify if I buy the plugin and cancel the subscription at some point of time, will I still be able to use the plugin without updates and support?

    • Hello,
      yes, you understand it correctly. This is exactly how it works – you can cancel your subscription anytime (simply locate the cancel button in your WPML account and click on it) and you will be able to use the plugins that you’ve downloaded/installed even without an active subscription. But you will lose access to new versions and our support help in that case.

    • Actually, we are not asking you to delete your tickets in our forum. We can definitely delete tickets on our own website.

      An attacker broke into wpml.org yesterday. That attacker could have downloaded the content of the support tickets, including the tickets with the private replies.

      We are asking that you check in your tickets what private information you gave us in the past and that you remove the access from YOUR SITES.

    I use WordPress Salient with WPBakery, simple page.
    Do I necessarely need the WPML CMS version or is WPML Blog sufficient for translation? No Woocommmerce or Widgets used.

    • Hello Alex,
      to translate content created with the WPBakery you need the Multilingual CMS version unless you want to recreate the page layout again (and maintain two copies).

      The Multilingual CMS package will also help you to translate some additional strings from the theme.

      could you please give me a few examples of your tickets, please? I mean links. I’m trying to understand your request? What exactly you would like us to do? To delete your old tickets? To find the login of your user account? I’ll ask our admin to check if you have any accounts with the email you posted this comment with.

  9. I have only 2 tickets. One of them has a private message and I can’t open it. It is written SHOW PRIVATE MESSAGE. I would like to know the login which is inside this private message or maybe you could send me this private message by mail or allow me to see it again.

      I’ve discussed your case with your admins. We are clearing all our data like this for users who canceled their subscription and don’t have access to their WPML account to do it by themselves so there is nothing you need to worry about. It will be handled with care.

    • Hello Paula,
      by default, WPML doesn’t translate anything automatically (you provide the content in other languages) but there are a few options that you can use in case you are intersted:
      – use machine translations – we provide some Translation Credits for free, if you need more, you can purchase them
      – send your content to one of the professional translation services we are integrated with – these translations are handled by humans. The whole workflow takes place in your WordPress, you need to have the WPML Translation Management plugin enabled. The price depends on the service.

    I’m looking to set up a multi lingual site, and like the look of WPML. I will need to be able to sell one very basic product with woocommerce (a gift certificate). However I am struggling to justify spending 50$ more for this than the blog version. I completely understand that the price is higher, but I also see that it is for a license for 3 different websites, and as I will only be launching 1, I was hoping you might be able to offer me an alternative.

      if you need to translate WooCommerce products using the WPML, the WPML Multilingual CMS plugin is required and this plugin is not available in the Blog package. That’s why you would need to purchase at least the Multilingual CMS package.

        • There is no way. But you don’t need to register three sites, just one. The price for the CMS is higher not because of the number of sites you can use register but because of the additional plugins you are getting in the package.

  13. I have created the site using Elementor Pro, with blocks and templates. Will I be able to localize the site into Chinese (CN and TW) and Portuguese (BR) without programming knowledge? That is, will I be able to pull the editable text and use SDL Studio to localize the site and the reimport the text to the site.     my clients current website was built by someone else. It has a lifetime license for WPML CMS. Can i transfer this license to the new website i’m going to build for them?
    They unfortunately cannot get hold of the logininformation as the former websitebuilder is out of the picture.

      if the former developer purchased the license with his/her email, there is nothing we/you can do since he/she is the owner of the WPML account and only he/she can register new sites.

      In this case, you would need to buy a new subscription with your (your customer) name/email. But of course, you can use the old key for your current site. You cannot translate the key either since transferring a key means registering a new site which needs to be done both in the WPML account and in the WordPress site.

    I have to make a website with 7 languages, using woocommerce and many information pages.
    I need this website be fully translated and my customer don’t lost time to change 7 times a little update.

    So, i have two questions for you :

    – We have to change many times, the product’s price ? Or just one time in the default language, and all languages are automatically updated ?

    – Can you confirm that WPML fully meets my needs ?

    • Hello,
      Some WooCommerce fields such as the product price will be automatically synchronized for all the languages if you update the price. You can also use WPML settings to make specific fields always use the original value. But for fields that need to be translated, which mean have different text for each language a manual update is required. Please note that by default WPML doesn’t translate anything automatically. We provide machine translations in the Advanced Translation Editor which is optional to using and these machine translations can speed up the process of translation your content but they need to be approved manually as well.

  17. We are a non-profit organization and we use WPML for our website. It is not working properly, the French site is not accessible anymore and our hosting company says the license should be renewed. Can you help me with that?

      • In your WordPress site where you use WPML, please go to Plugins -> Add new and switch to the Commercial tab. Please check if your site is registered. If it is, please send us your site url (domain) and we will check in our system who is the owner of the account. If the license belongs to you we can help you reset the password or even change/transfer the email but we need to be sure you are the owner of the subscription. If you have an order number or anything else that shows that you are the owner of the WPML account it will also help.

    • Hello. Renewals are needed for support and updates, your plugins will continue working even if without an active subscription.

    I need an option to implement the following structure domain.com/ca/fr – there will be another countries and languages in future. Is it possible with WPML without needing to modify the plugin myself?

      WPML allows you to use either folders or subdomains, please see an example in the table:
      https://wpml.org/2009/04/domain-per-language-subdomains-or-language-folders/

      If you install your WordPress in the ca folder then you could use domain.com/ca/fr but I don’t know what the other languages should look like. I don’t know what is that “ca” you mention. Canadian French? What are/would be the other language(s) and what structure do you expect for them? I’d like to understand the full picture.

          If you set up your Canadian French as in this screenshot
          the url will be like the following:
          yourdomain.com/fr-ca/contact
          yourdomain.com/fr-ca/nos-services etc

          for English:
          yourdomain.com/en/contact
          yourdomain.com/en/our-services etc
