I am a WPML client, I paid some third-party wordpress programmer to build a site for me and he bought and installed your plugin on my site.
I stopped working with him and i now maintain my own site, but the third-party programmer did not provide me the login information for my plugin support.
I have all the posswords for the site itself except for WPML plugin.

if the WPML account was registered with your email address, we can reset the password for you (or you can do it yourself here: https://wpml.org/account/lost-my-password/). But if it was registered with the developer’s address and purchased with his company name, there is nothing we can do since it belongs to him.

this theme has a lot of custom options and hasn’t been tested by our Compatibility Team. I cannot see on the page any mentions that it’s WPML-compatible. It means, that you might have issues with making the site fully available in other languages. Please note that even if a theme is not WPML ready, you should be able to translate basic stuff such as pages, posts, categories, menu etc. But this theme has a lot of custom features and might be a tricky one. You can give it a try (and use our refund policy in case of issues). You can also try to find a different theme – please check this list: https://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility.

Thanks for your interest. Yes you are welcome to buy a subscription and then cancel the automatic renewal. You will not be charged for it. Once it has expired you will no longer have access to updates and support but you can keep using the files you have installed on your site.

I’ve several questions regarding the use of your plugin on the multiblog site of my client. First of all, I know that my client already had a key before our agency started to work for them. So I guess I need an update. The only problem is, that I don’t know where to find the previous key. Could you be so kind and check if my client already purchased your product and get back to me, if that’s the case?
Next question is, which product my client needs. Does a multiblogsite count as one site? Or do I have to purchase a key for each blog of the multisite?

To transfer the account you just need to log in to your account and edit the e-mail address as well as any other detail you may need in Settings. To edit the username you will need to contact us back and we will do it for you.
We have installed Polylang with Lingotek and the machine translation works very easy. After uploading the original text it translates everything (content and picture titles) in to the language page very simply.
Do you offer such a feature aswell the machine translation to generate pages like this so easily?
We need approx. 600’000 characters to translate. What are the costs and for machine translation and which WPML version is required?

Technically speaking there shouldn’t be any issues but I’m not sure how you plan to transfer your site. The only thing you will need to do is generating a new key for your new domain.

Your site says you support compatibility with Betheme but not specifically the proprietary builder, Muffin Builder. If there’s an issue and you can’t fix it do I get a refund so I can use an alternative service?

But this theme hasn’t been tested by our Compatibility Team and it’s hard to say if you will to translate all the elements of the site and if the Blog package will be enough. Feel free to buy the 29$ version and give it a try. You can use our refund policy in case of issues. You can always upgrade to the CMS version for the difference in purchase price if needed.

thanks for your interest in WPML. WPML’s main role is not to translate your content but to provide you with an interface that helps you make your site multilingual. If in case you need automatic translations, WPML also has an option to help you here (our Advance Translation Editor provides such a feature but the automatic translation need to be approved manually as well). Yes, you configure WPML to handle any language, including Chinese, Cantonese. If your language is not on the default list of WPML languages, you will be able to add it manually as explained in this tut: https://wpml.org/documentation/support/editing-wpmls-languages-table/
What on earth is going on? On every Domain that I use WPML on I get emails that that are serious security flaws within the wpml plugin! The guy who writes the email even used your mail address to send the email from. It states you guys are aware of the flaws. That is serious stuff. Please inform your users asap and take care of an update!

We’re very sorry to report that our website got hacked. The evidence that we have points to an ex-employee who planted a backdoor before leaving the company.
That attacker did the following:
Copied the names and emails of our clients
Sent a mass email on our behalf
Defaced our purchase page and added a fake blog post
We’re very sorry that we allowed this to happen. We’ll take a lot more precaution when others leave the company in the future. Of course, some of our employees have access to sensitive material and we trust them to use it wisely.
Is there an exploit in WPML plugin?
The attacker did not modify the code in WPML plugins. We double checked right now and we can confirm that the ZIP files that you are downloading from us were not tampered with.
Was payment information compromised?
No. We don’t store payment information on our server. We use PayPal and Stripe for payment processing and they store the payment details. When you buy from us, we don’t ever see your credit card number.
Is my WPML account compromised?
Possibly. The attacker gained access to all client names and emails and may be able to login to your account. This will allow the attacker to pose as you on wpml.org.
Please log-in and change your password.
What’s WPML team doing about this hack?
We’re rebuilding the server from scratch, resetting all passwords and locking down everything. Since the intruder had access to the server, we can’t tell what other holes there are, so we’re building the site from scratch. This will take us until tomorrow morning.
We’ll write again once our site is secured again. Again, we’re very sorry for having lost your name and email to this intruder. Besides fixing the site, we’ll also take legal action.
Please don’t do anything right now. The link that you included in your comment (which I deleted) was part of the hack. We’re fixing our mailer now, which will restore everything including password reset. I’ll send another email to all WPML clients when we’re done. Our site is secured now, but some functionality (mainly email and support) are still not ready. We’ll have everything back to normal later today and will write to all clients.

Hello! I am building a website with WordPress and I want it to be multilingual, but I don’t want to translate posts, because I’ll upload poems and their translations, so I don’t need to translate them again!
However, I do need to translate pages, taxonomies and their slugs (I’m using Pods to create new fields and taxonomies), menus, widgets and elements from the theme (Newsmag by WPion).
Will WPML create duplicated posts? Could you help me with this?

you don’t need to translate posts, you can leave any post/page without translation, WPML supports it.
The Newsmag theme is compatible with WPML. Yes, you can translate menus, widgets, pages, taxonomies and slugs using WPML.
When you translate a post/page WPML creates a new copy but WPML has the duplicate option as well in case you need it.
The thing is that I want those posts to be shown in every language, but not translated. I want them with the same content and URL, but I want to translate the “interface” around them: taxonomies, menus, etc.
Something like Facebook: you choose a language and it translates everything, but not my posts.
I know that plugins like Polylang allow to duplicate posts, so they will be shown in every language, but this increases the size of the database and makes the site slower.
I have problem with Qtranslate-x i got many error in my site and I already try to deactive Qtranslate many time but my site was error with saw a lot error in font page. now I want to use WPML with the full licence, so do you support me for convert from q… to WPML?

I’ve contacted our developers to check the status of the qTranslate->WPML importer. Here’s what they say. Yes, we still maintain that plugin and it’s in good shape but indeed when the database is damaged (and it might be the case when you use the qTranslate unfortunately) the import might not go well and that’s why we always ask to create db backup. Best would be to run the import first on a copy.
