Hello,
I volunteer at a non-profit organization in Hungary. I was wondering if you will be willing to offer free access to your services to help support our organization.
I can of course provide more information about us if needed.
1) Does WPML Support Astra Theme and Elementor?
2) Does WPML Suport Indian Languages like Hindi, Marathi and also Malayalam??
3) In the Free Version how many languages can I configure in my website?
Hello Jackson,
thank you for your interest in WPML and your questions.
1. Yes, it does.
2. If you plan to use machine translations, please check this list of supported languages for automatic translations: https://ate.wpml.org/mt_langs I can see Hindi Marathi and also Malayalam.
3. There is no free version of a WPML plugin. We sell WPML in three packages: https://wpml.org/purchase/
You can add as many languages as you want in all three packages but if you plan to use machine translations, you nee will need the Multilingual CMS package.
Hi, I’ve bought this plugin to my client of our company. At the moment our clients not yet register domain dan hosting. Demo page still using our company subdomain. When i transfer the website to real domain name previous site key is work to clients domain name?
Hello,
your site and WPML plugins will work even if you don’t update the key because the key is needed just to get access to updates. If you need your new domain to be registered, the old key won’t work, you need to unregister the site and register it again with a new key. You can delete your old key and generate a new one in its place.
Other question, I try to create translate one page use automatic translate. when i view the page just source code of visual composer show on the page view. I use WPBakery Page Builder.
We’re currently using Magento 2 and are in the process of moving to WooCommerce. We now have our webshop in English, Dutch and Spanish and wish to do so with WooCommerce as well.
1) Do I understand correctly that with WPML we can have a multi-langual webshop without needing a MultiSite wordpress/woocommerce? Because some of the translation plugins require a MultiSite wordpress/woocommerce, but that would create all sorts of other issues to get shopping cards, order and invoice numbers etc. aligned.
2) Will WPML work with the the free StoreFront/Deli theme?
Hola,
Hi,I have bought WPLM licence a year ago for 3 websites but never use it. I needed to use it on a wordpress e-shop for 2 languages.Default categories and products’ links not working (links go to default homepage)..As I saw in your support forum a lot of people have the same problem with your plugin. The result is to loose my client.I ve sent you message to fix it ASAP ior refund but no answer!
Hello, what you are describing is not a known issue but our supporters suspect that you don’t have the shop page defined in the translated languages and you should go to WooCommerce > WooCommerce Multilingual > status and make sure everything’s alright there and there’s nothing else to do in that page and then open a ticket if the problem persists. We can properly investigate your case only on our forum.
Hi
We are looking at using your plugin for Spanish version of e-commerce site (at the moment all is in English) and have the following questions:
1) Can we use our own translated text or will it be done automatically by the plugin?
2) How will the different content be displayed? Will it generate another URL for the products/pages?
3) How will we display different images for the Spanish visitors?
4) Will WPML work with WooCommerce Price Based on Country Pro plugin?
Thank you
Hello,
1. You can use your own translations (that’s the default option)
2. Yes, it will generate a new URL in your language, please visits some sites from our showcase: https://wpml.org/showcase/ to see examples.
3. If needed, you can translate images too.
4. Do you mean this plugin: https://wpml.org/plugin/woocommerce-product-price-based-countries/ ? If so, yes, we are compatible.
Hello, you can, but please note that you won’t be able to *register* more than one sites and you will need to handle updates manually for unregistered sites.
Can you confirm to me that the sites will still have access to your plugin in a year, even if I don’t renew?
I imagine, however, that I will just no longer have access to new updates and support.
Yes, I confirm. The plugins you have installed will continue working and you can still use them. But you won’t be able to download them again from your WPML account so please make a copy on your local drive, just in case.
We are currently using “multi language switcher plugin” and would like to switch to WPML. Is it possible to export all settings from the old plugin and to import it to WPML? We have quite a lot of posts and loosing the connections between posts in the different languages would be really a lot of work.
Also, may you please confirm that when I mark a new post as being a translation of an already published post, that this already published post then also automatically is connected to the new post?
Hello Tim,
we don’t any converter from the multi language switcher plugin to WPML. I don’t know much about the plugin but if it saves the translations are regular posts maybe you can keep your existing posts and only assign them to correct languages after installing WPML. But for sure, you won’t be able to migrate your settings. If you want, you can give it a try, install WPML on a test site that uses your current plugin and see how it goes. We provide a 30-day refund option.
Hello Ken,
thank you for your interest in WPML. There is no trial version we could give you for free but our refund policy allows you to buy WPML and test it for 30 days. During that probation period, you can ask technical questions on our forum too.
I’m building my website and it should be in 4 languages. i used the Polylang plugin but my website when translated to the Arabic language it’s starting to be very very slow and not working in Gtmetrix test.
i want to know what is the problem if it’s because of the Polylang plugin??
and if i will subscribe in WPML to use it what is the advantage i will take and if the company guarantee that my website will not be slow.
Hello Tony,
You are welcome to try WPML and see how it works for you. I cannot say now what the problem is. If you need technical help our tech team will assist you in the forum. You have up to 30 days to try it and get a refund https://wpml.org/purchase/refunds/
Hello Tony,
the site’s performance depends on many factors. When our customers have performance issues we help to track them down the root cause of the problems and if it has anything to do with WPML. We cannot tell much without seeing your site actually using WPML. But we do take performance issues seriously and we are improving them with each and every release. We use WPML plugins too on our own sites.
Is it possible to have the same post type slug in different countries? For example: .com/nl/villas/ and .com/villas/ ?? Because it’s the same in Dutch and English as well but my developer says it’s not possible.. Please help me out!
Hello Manuel,
we don’t have any discount codes. You might want to look around and see if some of our affiliates offer something. There are some bloggers who write with passion about different plugins and they provide affiliate links.
Good morning,
I’ve bought WPML for 3 websites in 2019, and I didnt use the 3rd website (used 2 only).
Do I need to pay MORE just to use what I’ve not used on the past ?
Hello,
you can still use the WPML plugins bought back then if you have them saved somewhere on your local drive. If you don’t, you can download them from your 1 and 2 sites, where you used them (via ftp for example). Without the active subscription, you won’t see the plugins on your download section in your WPML account.
But it’s better to use fresh plugins, so please consider renewing your WPML subscription. When you log into your WPML account you will see a link to renew it.
hi i am interested in buying the agency package for multiple sites, my question is after the 12 months period of updating any sites we have with your plugin, will we be able to add sites with the latest version of the 12 month period? (if we don’t buy an extension for another 12 months)
You will be able to add sites and install WPML plugins on them (please make local copies of all WPML plugins) but you won’t be able to register these sites without an active subscription. Registration is needed for updates.
Hello Adriana,
the Thrive Architect is not compatible with WPML the way Elementor is but you can still build your multilingual pages using Thrive Architect and WPML, you will have a bit more work than using page builders that are integrated with WPML.
Let me explain the difference. If a page builder is integrated with WPML, you don’t need to maintain separate layouts of the same page for different languages, you just focus on translating the texts. That’s the case for Elementor or Divi (plus a few other page builders) and not the case for Thrive Architect.
So you either create a copy of your original page (not to recreate the same layout from scratch) or you create a new page and create the layout from scratch.
I am working on a website for one of my clients and I need to install WPML on her website. I want to avoid the hassle of having to ask her to buy the plugin and pass me the information to install it. Can I buy it myself, install it, and then transfer the billing for the renewal of the subscription to my client ? Many thanks for your help. Kind regards
We recently worked with a translation agency to get our product pages translated into several languages. The correct translations were given to us in word documents. Rather than copy and paste all of this content on our backend, can we simply upload the documents and the content is placed in the right areas?
Hello,
I won’t work like this I’m afraid. If you want to just upload files with translations you need to use a special kind of file called XLIFF.
I don’t know much about the site you use, what editor you use, and the match between your existing content and what’s in your doc. If you are using the WordPress Gutenberg (block) editor and what you have in your MS-word document matches your original content in terms of formatting (headings, etc) you can create a new page/post in another language and simply copy-paste from the doc. Gutenberg can handle MSdocs pretty well.
Hi, Can you please help me figure out why, when we added a new page to our site, and manually translated it, the translation tab for Spanish does not appear in the top navigation on that new page? If I’m logged in to WordPress it does appear, but when logged out, it does not appear.
I have a site and wish to add more languages. I am not sure how to continue with WPML. Should I buy the product from this site and then how do I load it to wordpress? I am trying to find your plug in in wordpress to do it the other way round, but I am not finding it.
Thank you in advance for your help.
Hello,
yes, WPML is just another WordPress plugin or actually a set of plugins (depending on what you need) but since these are paid plugins you won’t find them in the WordPress repository. First, you need to buy a WPML subscription, you will get access to your WPML account, you go to the Download section, you download the main WPML plugin to your local drive, then you log into your WordPress site, go to plugins > add new and you upload the plugin.

Hello Dennis,
When you install WPML on your site it will create the language versions automatically, there is no need for a multisite, or separate WordPress installs.
WPML works will with StoreFront. Check these articles

Hi there,
Does the media replace feature work with Divi?
Hello, WPML works with Divi. Could you please describe what you mean by “media replace feature”?
Hi, does the “Multilingual Blog”, package support just 1 Woocommerce site ?
Can I manually trasnlate everyhting too?
Hello Harry,
The Blog subscription lets you register only one site but it does not give you access to translate your WooCommerce site. You will need the CMS version for this https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/woocommerce-multilingual/

Hi There,
We use a page builder plugin, similar to Elementor, called Thrive Architect.
Before we purchase the WPML, I would like to know if there is an integration made, so the plugin will translate the website content normally.
Thank you,
Adriana
Hello Adriana,
the Thrive Architect is not compatible with WPML the way Elementor is but you can still build your multilingual pages using Thrive Architect and WPML, you will have a bit more work than using page builders that are integrated with WPML.

So you either create a copy of your original page (not to recreate the same layout from scratch) or you create a new page and create the layout from scratch.
