  1. Hi,
I’m going to have some videos in spanish that I would like to replace my english video if the persons browser is set to spanish.
Can you clarify how that would work w/ your plugin?
    I’m using the AVADA theme.
    Thanks,
    Steve

    • Hello Steve,
how do you insert your videos?
When you translate your pages using WPML, WPML opens your translation (Spanish version of a post/pag) in a special translation editor where you deal with texts. In most cases, in order to replace the video, you would need to switch off this translation editor for the pages with videos and to create a separate version of this page in Spanish with a separate video embedded. Please show me an example of a page that includes a video or explain how you inster videos in your case and if you are using a pae builder or the WordPress editor.

WPML also allows you to turn on the feature of automatic redirections according to the browser of the user’s language.

  2. hi

    1) can I use seo in wpml blog as well

    2) If I would like to upgrade later after 6-7 months do I have to pay full price or on pro rata basis.

    3) And can I degrade too? do I have to cancel current plan with no money return and purchase new plan or its work on pro rata basis as well.

    thanks

    • Hello,
      1. You need the CMS package to handle SEO tags
Here are the popular SEO plugins compatible with WPML:
      https://wpml.org/plugin-functionality/seo/
      2. You can upgrade from the Blog to the CMS package later for the difference in the purchase price
      3. To downgrade your subscription you would need to cancel your existing one (or let it expire) and buy again (the cheaper version).

    • Hello,
right now, to use different currencies you need to use the WooCommerce Multilingual plugin whose main purpose is to make your WooCommerce store multilingual so, if you don’t need to translate your products, using this plugin only for currencies might be an “overkill”. We have plans to separate the functionality for handling currencies and make a separate small plugin of this but it will take us some time (months I guess).

  4. Hi there,
I want to purchase the plugin, would this require me to renew every year or this plugin can be used lifetime but the support will only last for 1 year? Do you have the “Pro” edition that we can trial?
    Many thanks
    Prima

    • Hello,
you can cancel your subscription at any time and still use WPML plugins but without updates and access to our support help.
We don’t offer any free trials but we do offer a refund policy that allows you to test WPML for 30 days without risking your money.

  7. Hello,

I had invited a client of mine to take ownership of his wpml license but they never did. Now the link that was generated seams to no longer be valid “You cannot buy this particular WPML product because you already have an expired account.” How can I generate a new working link to proceed with this operation?

    Thank you,
    Ramy

    • Hello Ramy,
If your client did not use the link to purchase, you should be able to send them the link again.
      Let me know?

    • Hello, you will need to use two registration keys but since one of these websites is a development site, you can use the extra pool of keys we provide for the CMS package (which allows you to register 3 productions sites and 9 development sites).

  8. Hi. I bought a license years ago, I will buy another one to get the latest update and upload, Multilingual Blog. Will I then be able to switch to wpml for an ecommerce site? Without having to buy a new Multilingual CMS plan, is it possible to buy only what is necessary for the ecommerce site? Kind regards. Bruno

    • Hello Bruno,
      Thanks for your interest.
You are welcome to upgrade your account to the CMS version for the difference only at any time.

      Best regards,

  9. Hello Agnes,

Thanks for your reply, but, it should still be possible to control the VAT through the WooCommerce-s VAT settings, according to the location, right?

  10. Hello, I was about to purchase CMS WPML plugin but the only payment method listed is PayPal. Unfortunately, we dont have it in Montenegro. Are there any other payment options like credit card etc?
    Thank you

    • Hello, yes, you can pay by credit card too. On the checkout page please select “Use a different payment processor” (you will see it at the very bottom of the page).

  11. Hello!

I use woocommerce to display songs (the products) into playlists (a custom post type).
Each playlist organizes their songs by products IDs, therefore I can’t have my products to be duplicated and lose my playlists.

The only thing that should be translated relating to my products are the related meta (product categories and custom taxonomies), products should stay in default language.

My question is: is it possible to keep products in original language, but taxonomies & product category available in all languages?

Please tell me it’s possible with your plugin 🙂

    • Hello Simon,
yes, it’s possible but you would need to choose the “Translatable – use translation if available or fallback to default language” for Products, which displays your original products if someone wants to display the product category/tags archives. When you install WPML please select “Translate some” (Instead of Translate everything) and then go to WPML settings > Post Types Translation and locate the Products row. Choose the middle column.

    • Hello,
we don’t have lifetime offers. All WPML packages are based on a subscription model. You can cancel your WPML subscription anytime and still use the plugins but without access to updates.

  12. perfect! (I bought it 😉 )
Since I use loco translate to translate strings and I don’t want translator management (only admin can) or media translation, can I just install the core plugin without the rest?

    • Yes, the String and Media translation plugins are optional. Since the WPML 4.5 release, the translation management functionality is part of the main plugin but you don’t need to add additional translators.

  13. I am considering WPML for a legal resource website. Most of our content is being professionally translated, but we will require minimal automatic translation of strings. My main concern is that I want to be able to copy and paste a full page of translated material into a page without have to do each block or string separately. Does WPML give me that capability? Most translation plugins that I’ve evaluated, such as Translatepress, only allow string translation, which is super inefficient when you are manually translating pages and pages of content.

    • Hello,
WPML won’t help in your specific case I’m afraid. I’m not sure what kind of strings you have in mind but to translate some additional strings, strings that don’t belong to your page’s body but appear on the same page (for example “Next page” or “Number of comments” or “Published:”) with WPML you need to handle them manually too.

If you want to use machine translations in WPML for individual pages, we provide such an option but WPML’s editor will break this page into separate blocks:
      https://cdn.wpml.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/translate-automatically-in-ate.png

What you see on this screenshot is the Sample Page that comes by default with WordPress and this is how the page will look like when you open it in WPML’s translation editor.

Lastly, if this feature is available, in which versions of WPML is it available?

    • Hello,
yes, the manager of our support has forwarded me your email with the file attached.

Is it possible that back then (on November 12th 2020) you paid using a different email than the one you are currently using to post this comment with?
