  1. Hi,

We have created lessons in LMS that we translated from English to Spanish via the WPML plugin.

    1) How can I export the translated lesson (pdf or word format) so someone who does not have access to WordPress can review the content?

    2) In one of the lesson we have a “Download” button to download a PDF document. The lesson is translated but not the downloaded document. How would recommend we proceed to make sure all files get translated at the same time the lesson itself is being translated?

    3) We have quizzes at the end of each lessons but I can’t locate the content of any of the lessons (including the answers). For example, for a quizz with 1 question and 4 answers (A,B,C and D):
    – under “Quizzes” the advanced translation plugin (WPML) only translates the title of the quizz.
    – under “Answers” the plugin will only translate the title as well. I cannot find anywhere the actual answers of the quizz (A,B,C,D) to get them translated. Could you please help me find this information?

    Thanks,
    Paul

  3. Hi,
I have helped a friend to use WPML and configured everything for his website.
For that purpose I bought WPML Multilingual CMS.
Since he is finally launching a website, I transferred payment to him, so he is paying from now on.
May I deactivate WPML Multilingual CMS or delete account?

My friend will not have any consequences as he is paying already, I suppose?
I am not using any of WPML products for now.
I definitely have in mind to use it in future, but not at the moment.
I am asking that because my PayPal is connected to the account and I do not want to pay for something I am not using.
And the message I got states that automatic renewal will happen next year.

  4. Hi,

  6. I am writing to inquire about your non-profit license. We are a non-profit organization.

What is the cost for purchase and annual renewal for non-profit licenses? What is the process? What further information do you need from us?

    Thank you,
    Charlotta

    • Hello Charlotta,
I also saw your mail about this from yesterday, in our inbox.
I will get back to you via email soon today.

      Sorry to keep you waiting.

      Best wishes

  8. Hi, an unusual question….would WPML know if there are any industry benchmarks for website translations? So if you have a multilingual website where the default language is English but you get visitors from all over the world, would you have an idea, out of every 1,000 visitors, how many would translate it into their language? Is there any analysis available online to tell you this? Thanks

    • Hello Damien, we don’t have such benchmarks but let me comment on your question. Making a site multilingual lets your site be indexed in search engines like Google in different languages. In effect, visitors speaking (searching in) other languages can find your site and specific pages (which are already translated). So having a multilingual site is not about providing the ability to your users to translate the website into a given language once they found it in your site’s original language (this is what Chrome can do on the fly). It’s about letting them find your site in their languages when using search engines like Google. What WPML does is allow you to have the website translated with permanent translations saved (in your database) and let your content be indexed in different languages by search engines. I hope it makes sense.

  9. Hello,

I am looking to purchase WPML for CMS and I’ve watched a few tutorials on how it’s added. I have some news set as posts which I add 4-5 daily on the website. For this reason I don’t want the posts to be translated, I want them to stay in English no matter what language a visitor selects.

On one of the tutorials if the post wasn’t translated to the other language it didn’t show up at all. All that showed up instead of it was an error message.

So, my question is basically this?

Can you show the original version of the post in other languages?

    • Yes, it will work as you expect but when setting up WPML please choose “Translate some” instead of “Everything”.

    • If you don’t want to translate posts but show the original posts in the translated version of your site you need to choose one more option – go to WPML > Settings and scroll down to the Post Types Translation section. In there locate the row for Posts and click “Translatable
use translation if available or fallback to default language”.

  10. Hello,
I would like to carry out the translation of the entire site automatically.
do i think i need to buy an additional translation service?
I can have more information about it

    • Hello Max,
you don’t need to buy an additional service to translate your site automatically but your site needs to have enough translation credits. When you buy the CMS package you will get 90 000 credits for free (1 credit = 1 word if you choose Microsoft’s translation engine, you need 2 credits per word if you use Google translate and 3 credits to translate a single word if you decide to use DeepL. Google Translation is the default. If you need more credits, you will need to either set up a credit subscription (please check the pricing here) or buy a new package of credits.

  12. Hi support, We are building a website for a Japanese tutors membership site. We are hoping to use Paid Membership Pro for this as it has event integration we need.

Does WPML support English and Japanese in the membership plugin?

    Many thanks, Alan

  13. Please, kindly answer:

    1. Do you have the eval version?

    2. Why your plugin is not visible under Plugins – Add New page of WP?

    • Hello,
      1. The only way to test WPML without risking your money is to buy it keeping our refund policy in mind. https://wpml.org/purchase/refunds/
      2. This internal list of WordPress shows only free plugins from the WordPress official repository. WPML is a paid plugin and doesn’t have a free version and that’s why we cannot add it to this directory.

  14. Can you start with WPML Blog and then depending on my needs in the future upgrade to the WPML CMS plan? What is the cost of upgrading?
    Thanks

  16. thank you for your reply. But you did not answered all question.

My concern is can I change main slug of each translation language, ie, .com/ en to .com/English and so on?

can i change 2 alpha slug to as I want? or its unchangeable? thanks

    • Hi Yuri – if you are migrating from a development site to a production site, you only need to click the gear icon when viewing your list of registered sites. This allows you to transfer your site key to the new production URL.
