Hello,
I had sent you a private email before I read this comment. I just replied privately asking you to create a ticket on our support forum (make sure you log in with the user that has an active subscription).
I’m interested in purchasing WPML for a multi-lingual website i’m building. The site will have 3 languages – English, Arabic, and Farsi. Does WPML support Farsi?
Hello,
yes, there is. For each production key, you will get 3 extra keys for your development sites. This means that when you are buying the CMS package you can install up to 12 sites (3 production + 3×3 development sites)
Hello, I purchased WPML to build a site for a client. Now, the client is taking over the site. How can I transfer WPML to them so that they can pay future charges?
Because i can ‘t find how to reply in an open question technical ticket, please tell me how. This is so unclear and i can ‘t reach anyone at the forum.
Hello Yvonne,
what is unclear? Can you please provide me with more details? I’m not sure what you mean that something is unclear. You need to be logged in to open a ticket on our support forum.
Right now we are working on the multiple language site,
In that site, there is multiple pages with English language, also some other pages are in different languages such as Korea, Chinese and Japanese,
I have totally 14 pages with English language, I need 10 pages in english, and remaining 4 pages i need to convert in other 3 languages,
For 10 pages the header and footer should be in English, For the remaining pages the header and footer should be in their respective languages such as Chinese, Japanese and Korea,

I have asked the technical forum an important question, so the ticket is open. I got an answer. That wasn’t helpful for me. I see nowhere a reply possiblity. only the name of the supporter has a link: allejandro, or link forum, but that is no replying possibility of MY ticket on what I need. I get robotmessages that I have to reply or they close down my question. I send 2 days ago another ticket with the same question (all while i am logged in in the technical forum) and get to answer. It is hard not to reach and talk to someone for days.. Can you help me? this was a clear link to reply. There is no such thing in the tecnical forum. Greetings Yvonne Holland
Hello,
I spoke to Alejandro and he mentioned a user with connection issues when you had a chat and it must have been you, we think. If you didn’t open a regular (normal) ticket yet, please open one or try our chat again if your connection is more stable today. Thank you. If you already have a link to your regular ticket, you can also share it with me and I will ask Alejandro to check it again. Thank you.
I just found out that today we had some connection issues onwpml.org too and it could be the cause of your issues with the chat. If you try to open a ticket, it’s very likele a chat will open. If that’s the case, you can select to transform the chat into a ticket if no one answers right away.
I am developing a real estate site with a lot of listing from an IDX call Showcase. Will this plugin translate these automatically as there would be 1000’s of listing changing from time to time. The listing are not in the WP database as they are feed via the IDX Showcase plugin.
Also a little confused on the 3 flavors of purchase options as this site is using Avada and a built in page builder.
I believe the only way for the IDX to work is not having the URL change from the root, so abc.com/es/???? wouldn’t work.
Hello Michael,
WPML hasn’t been tested for compatibility with the IDX Showcase plugin and the results can be unpredictable. WPML works with Avada. If you want, you can buy the CMS package keeping our refund policy in mind which allows you to test WPML for 30 days.
I’m helping a customer with an intranet wordpress site that they want translated by an external translation service provider and I’m wondering if WPML will be able to communicate with a translation service provider if the WordPress site is internal to the corporate network? Would callbacks be an issue?
Hi,
I’m planning to subscribe WPML. What does “Websites you can register” mean in Pricing table? My site enables multisite and has 17 website networks on 1 WordPress instance. Do I have to subscribe Multilingual Agency plan?
Thanks.
Hello,
if you use the WordPress Multisite you need to register only the main site (meaning you need to use only one key). So in this case the CMS package will suffice.
We have a client who has a US site and wanted a Chinese site, preferably a separate domain (eg. xyz.com.cn). Is it possible to have some Chinese-only pages but not visible or do not exist on the original US site?
I finally saw what I have to do to reply the ticket. It was not clear to me how and I could’t find it anywhere how it worked.
Thank You so much for listening to me.
It was a great feeling in the midst of turmoil.
I have been able to answer the ticket from Allejandro, so I am convinced we will find the answers soon.
have a great daay Agnes.
Hello Andrea,
we don’t have any Black Friday discounts. We don’t have lifetime offers either but you can cancel your WPML subscription and still use WPML plugins.
I already have an account using two Multilingual CMS installations. I would like to use Multilingual Blog for a new website. When I’m logged in and choose “Multilingual Blog” on https://wpml.org/purchase, your site says: “You already have an account that includes all the features of this account.”. When Ik go to the downloads page, I don’t see “Multilingual Blog”.
I just want to use “Multilingual Blog” Please advice.
Your CMS subscription allows you to register WPML files on up to 3 sites. If you have not used all of them you can simply register the new url. There is no need to purchase a new subscription.
Hello Rizki,
I’m afraid it won’t be possible using WPML, or at least you will need to add some custom code as WPML works only for your WordPress site ( example.com/blog ).
You will have to add some custom URL rewriting in order to inverse the /blog/ and the language directory from your URL.
I hope it helps.
I would like to keep it as simple as possible, so I do not want to use any plugins I don’t need. WPML Multilingual CMS wil give me the features of Multilingual Blog?
If my customer wants to pay for the license himself in the future, should he buy Multilingual Blog and can he change the licence key?
Hi Martijn – All the features of the Multilingual Blog account type are included in the Multilingual CMS account type. You can see what’s included in each account type here: https://wpml.org/purchase/
They work and the IDX plugin still works. Would your plugin be able to translate all the pages rendered for the home listings as they are not in an iframe but some how rendered on page, I dont think they are in the database as they change too often. Seems would be a lot of translations as well. Not sure about credits with this type of site.
Hi Michael – Yes, WPML offers a URL format option to display languages as a parameter. WPML only translates content that is managed by your site. If the properties you want to display are a custom post type, post, page, etc., you can translate them with WPML. If they come from a different source and are managed outside your site, WPML cannot translate them on-the-fly.
Yes, WPML can handle both but the main language won’t have a language parameter added.
Regarding your second question, if the content is created using WordPress and it is store in your WordPress database, WPML should be able to translate it.
Otherwise, I’m afraid it won’t be able to do it.
tested another translation/multilanguage plugin for WordPress and it have an issue that makes it useless.
I would like to know how you handle this situation in your plugin:
Having site in Spanish, adding an English translation for a Spanish text. If I modify Spanish text, the English translation is lost (the linking between each text is string by string, if it can’t find the original string, then it has no translation)
How do you handle it today? Is it possible to modify original text without loosing the translated text (so I can just modify the translated text, instead of adding it all again)
Hi Javier – With WPML, the default language page and translated page stay linked, and the original translation will continue to display on the front-end until you update it. When you modify the default language page, WPML will simply let you know that the translation needs to be updated. If you use the new Translate Everything mode, WPML will automatically update your translations anytime you update the default language content.
Hello Javier,
If you consider that your translations shouldn’t be modified after editing the original content, WPML has an option called “Minor update” which ignores your changes. Otherwise, your translations will be kept on the front-end and WPML will try to make a match between your previous and the new content.
I hope it helps.

Hello,
in this table, you can see the languages for which WPML provides automatic translations:
https://ate.wpml.org/mt_langs
You can add any language if you will provide your own translations.
Hi,
Is the any demo licence that we can use on staging server for testing the behavior and functionality?

Hello Augustin. Yes, you can use WPML to set up a site like this. You need the CMS ($99) package.

Hello Brian,
the only external services WPML is integrated with are listed here:
https://wpml.org/translation-service/
plus we use Google, DeepL and Microsoft translation engine APIs to provide machine translations.

Arnel Estanislao
Hello Arnel,
Yes this is possible. Check here https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/#id2
You can create and translate pages from any language to another. The only thing is that as users will be able to switch languages, they be able to access those contents. If that’s an issue, you will need to add an IP redirection plugin as:
https://wpml.org/plugin/ip2location-redirection/

Hi WPML,
do you have discounts for 11.11 or black friday in the program?
Do you also have lifetime licenses maybe agency?

We no longer sell lifetime subscriptions either.

The Multilingual Blog is the name of one of the subscriptions we sell, not the name of one of the plugins per se.
The Multilingual Blog version includes the core plugin, named WPML Multilingual CMS https://wpml.org/documentation/wpml-core-and-add-on-plugins/#wpml-multilingual-cms
Your CMS subscription allows you to register WPML files on up to 3 sites. If you have not used all of them you can simply register the new url. There is no need to purchase a new subscription.
I hope this helps. Let me know?
hi, im wondering if wpml support custom subdirectory url.
i mean, the normal urls look like this:
example.com/blog/en
example.com/blog/id
but what i want is
example.com/en/blog
example.com/id/blog
i built example.com using vuejs
i built the example.com/blog using wordpress
is it possible?
Hello Rizki,

You will have to add some custom URL rewriting in order to inverse the /blog/ and the language directory from your URL.

Maybe I can ask my question differently. Is there options in the back end whereas the URL is not changing from
example.com to en.example.com or example.com/en or example.com/?lang=e as this real estate plugin breaks.
See this link: https://support.showcaseidx.com/hc/en-us/articles/360061605492-Options-for-Translating-Languages
Thanks, Michael
Hello Michael,
Thank you for sharing that link. I’m afraid that WPML will need to change your URL and add a language suffix as the your your documentation indicates.
However, it does not mention anything about using the “Language name added as a parameter” URL format, so may be an alternative for you.
I recommend you to reach your plugin support and ask about it:
https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/language-url-options/#language-name-added-as-a-parameter.
You can also consider other real estate plugins and themes already WPML compatible:
https://wpml.org/documentation/plugins-compatibility/
https://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/
Dear Mercedes, thanks for your reply.

If my customer wants to pay for the license himself in the future, should he buy Multilingual Blog and can he change the licence key?

Martijn
Hi Martijn – All the features of the Multilingual Blog account type are included in the Multilingual CMS account type. You can see what’s included in each account type here: https://wpml.org/purchase/
You can transfer ownership of the site to your client so they can pay for their own renewals. They do not need to buy a separate license. You can read about that here: https://wpml.org/purchase/transferring-account-renewals-to-your-clients/
Ok, i was able to test the query string as:
https://homeprorealty.us/properties/?lang=en
and
https://homeprorealty.us/properties/?lang=es
I am guessing your plugin can do those above ?
They work and the IDX plugin still works. How do you handle it today? Is it possible to modify original text without loosing the translated text (so I can just modify the translated text, instead of adding it all again)
kindly
/javier
Hi Javier – With WPML, the default language page and translated page stay linked, and the original translation will continue to display on the front-end until you update it. When you modify the default language page, WPML will simply let you know that the translation needs to be updated. If you use the new Translate Everything mode, WPML will automatically update your translations anytime you update the default language content.
It can sometimes seem like translations disappear in the editor if you use an inconsistent translation workflow (which we do not recommend). In certain cases, you may still be able to view the previous translation in the Advanced Translation Editor.
Hello Javier,
If you consider that your translations shouldn’t be modified after editing the original content, WPML has an option called “Minor update” which ignores your changes. Otherwise, your translations will be kept on the front-end and WPML will try to make a match between your previous and the new content.

Hi Bruno – Only the Booking Calendar Pro version is compatible with WPML. If you want to be able to translate text coming from a theme or plugin, you’ll need our String Translation plugin, which is only available in Multilingual CMS and Multilingual Agency account types. You can compare account types here: https://wpml.org/purchase/
