Hello, PayPal won’t allow me to pay using my balance, Is that correct? Is there a way around it? This particular PayPal account does not have a credit/debit card associated with it but I have subscribed to several services before just using my balance.
Ps: If it matters, I’m building a website for a client and will then transfer the license to them.
Hello,
You are welcome to pay using your PayPal balance but you will still need a credit card linked to your PayPal account. We have a subscription-based model (with yearly renewals) and PayPal needs a credit card linked to authorize the payment, even though you may cancel the renewal afterwards (or transfer it to your client).
Sorry for this.
I’ve an embedded booking widget as in this page https://viajaconlaia.com/tours/reservar/ and as you can see the widget changes language with the languadge switcher but is actually a conditional logic solution, which is provided thorugh some shortcodes by the actual translation plug-in I’m using.
I’m not interested in translating the strings but in having a different widget-code shown depending on the language chosen by the user, because the traslation is integrated with the booking platform we use and it’s easier to menage it in their backend.
I’m very much interested in getting your plug in beacuse i think it would resolve me many other issues im actually having with the present one but this specific issue its a very importat one i would like to know how could i solve it with WPML before to buy it.
On behalf of the Army Research Laboratory, can someone please reach out to me via email so that I can provide them with a blank 889 form for OnTheGoSystems to complete? We are in need of a signed form in order to place an order. Thank you!
Hi,
i already bought WPML a while ago and forgot to extend my subscription. Now i don’t see a way to extend my accounts subscription, because it says “Your Multilingual CMS account has expired. To download WPML and get support, please purchase a new account” on you website after login. Why do I need to purchase a new account? I just want to extend my current subscription.
Hello there,
The possibility to extend your subscription only appears when you still have a valid account. Once it is expired you need to buy a new license.

Hi! I work at WordPress VIP, and we’ve got some customers who have an issue with WPML due to the use of the DB_NAME constant. Could someone technical from OnTheGoSystems please reach out over email to chat about getting this resolved for our joint customers? Thanks!
The language switcher shows up in the menu only when the letters “en” are added to the url of any of the English pages, so e.g. http://www.website.com/en. The default language of the website is English the other language is German. I would like the language switcher to show up in the menu without having to add “en” to every single English page manually, so when the url is simply e.g. http://www.website.com.
I am sorry for this. This is not a tech support forum and we cannot assist you from here.

When I buy a new license there are updates included for 1 year. How much do the updates cost yearly afterwards and do I have to buy a new account every time?
Hello Jonathan,
The renewal fee depends on the subscription type you buy. It has a 25% discount if you renew in time.

1/ What means with your “Multilingual CMS” plan:
– 3 productions
– 9 developments
If I understood, this means that we can install your plugin on 3 live sites and on 9 others on development sites? And if we need to put a 4th site live we have to switch to the “Multilingual Agency” plan?
Is it possible to upgrade afterwards?
2/ I read in your terms and conditions that you refer to a “discontinued Lifetime Account”. This plan does not appear in your pricing page. Could you tell me more?
HI Lorena,
Check below:
1/ What means with your “Multilingual CMS” plan:

Correct

Yes, you can then upgrade for the difference, at any time.
2/ I read in your terms and conditions that you refer to a “discontinued Lifetime Account”. This plan does not appear in your pricing page. Could you tell me more?
We used to sell lifetime subscriptions but we stopped doing it back in 2018. They are no longer available, I am afraid.
Hi,
We’ve been looking for multilingual support plugin for our WordPress website, yours is one of the one we’re considering, as we use ACF plugin for many of our pages it looks like a good fit, however I’m unable to test this feature before the buy decision. Is there a way for us to try it? We have hundreds of pages with many modules based on ACF, so for us it is vital to check how it will work for us and our team using it before.
I’m trying to find a tool that can help me auto translate posts that are submitted from front-end forms. I assume that this isn’t something that works automatically with WPML, but am hoping that I can write some custom code to acheive it.
Can you point me towards documentation for a particular function that I could use with a hook in my code that would take the form content, automatically translate the desired fields, and then insert them into a duplicate, translated post?
Hello Nick,
In our WPML API, you will find all the available hooks and tools that you may need to achieve it.
However, you can also open a ticket in our support forum where one of our specialists will be able to check your case.

Hello Adel,
I have found a cancelled payment and 2 pending transactions.
All of them were made with PayPal. There are no error notes. Can you please try from a different browser or paying with your credit/debit card directly? You can do this by selecting Alternative payment processor at checkout.
My public library (non-profit, tax exempt org), would like to purchase the plugin but does not have a paypal account. We do have a credit card. Is it possible to pay directly?
Hello Yvone,
Thanks for your interest. Yes, you can pay with your credit card directly.
We have a discount for non-profits. Can you send me your library details to hello@wpml.org?
Thanks Andres. I had seen the API, but it only has hooks rather than also showing documentation for specific functions that I could call with my own hooks. Also, I don’t see anything there related to automatic translations.
In order to create a ticket in the support forum, I need to be a customer. But I’d like to find out if this is possible before I become a customer so as to avoid the hassle of buying the plugin, opening a ticket, investigating and then requesting a refund.
So, is there any way that you could get an answer to this question from your support team?
In theory, automatic translation should work even if the content is created from the front-end. However it would depend on the project implementation, so we can’t assure it would work straight forward.
I understand that it could be a hassle to buy the plugin and try it, but I can’t provide you a direct answer without investigating your site first.
Thank you for your understanding.
I have bought WPML but afterwards, my site was so slow. So i deinstalled the plugin and asked for a refund. My site is still slow. So i assume, there are still traces of WPML left. As i already got a refund, i can not deinstall WPML properly with “Reset”. How can i be sure, all traces of WPML are gone and my website is back on speed again?
If you have already uninstall WPML and your site remains slow, the problem does not seem associated to our plugin, so I recommend you to take a deeper look into your project.
Anyway, for correctly uninstalling WPML, please go to:
– WPML > Support.
– Troubleshooting.
– Reset.
x I am about to reset all translation and language data.
x Reset and deactivate WPML
Hi, we are looking to enter into new markets and looking for an effective translation tool.
180,000 credits is that monthly or annual? And what does 1 credit look like?
What is the cost when you exceed the credits?
With the automatic translation are pages/strings able to be edited manually?
Hello
my website is in 3 languages, using wp all import it is possible to translate only product name and description and then put category in default language and make wpml sync translated categories for second and third language ?
thanks
Hello Said,
As you create your CSV’s for importing content using WP All Import, you can create a CSV per language and include only product name, description and categories. Then, for secondary languages, add the original categories into the CSV, in that way everything should be synchronised.

I did the payment on 14th January, 2022 with the end user checkout. It still says “Your Multilingual CMS account has expired. To download WPML and get support, please purchase a new account”

Hello Chad,
Your account registered with this email address is exired.
Can you please send me the payment receipt or any further details about the purchase to hello@wpml.org?
Hello Miguel,
If you translate WPML on your site, you don’t need to make a copy. This is the part of the magic of WPML 🙂
It will create the new language version of your site with just a few clicks.
If you want to translate the content automatically, you can also do this.
Check here https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/#installing-and-configuring-wpml
I have an old version of WPML installed by my developer a few years ago. I’m going to update it because I have a bug. The pluging is blowing up my website.
I had to reinstall it… but another bug appeared. Each time I make a duplication for my translation, I can’t select strings that will make your content appear in certain places.
my question is: which version should i take to update my website? is the blog version enough? knowing that it’s a small osbl website, there are not millions of pages…
And also, if I update the plugin, will it break my site?

Hello Cloé,
As you had installed WPML String Translation and WooCommerce Multilingual, you need a Multilingual CMS license as they don’t come with the Blog one.
Then, please update to the latest WPML 4.5.8 version. If you have any issue during this process, please open a ticket in our support forum where one of our specialists will assist you.

Hello Paolo,
WPML allows you to add a widget and select in which language it will be displayed. If I understand correctly your case, you could add a different widget per language and assign it from the “Display on language” option:
https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/translating-widgets/#using-different-widgets-for-different-languages

Hello Leanne,
180,000 credits are assigned with the purchase of an Agency subscription. This is a yearly quota. It tops up to 120,000 with the payment of the yearly renewal fee.
If you need more credits, you can subscribe to Pay-as-you-go option.

The usage of credits depends on the translation engine you choose.

Yes, you can edit the translation afterwards https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/how-to-review-automatic-translations-on-your-site/
