  1. Setting up WPML on clients websites.

I need to know any terms and conditions on setting up WPML on client websites. Do I need to purchase a license every time I use it, or can I buy a developer license and just have this for my clients?

  2. You promote:
    Multilingual CMS Lifetime

Say our client wants to makeover her website in 3 years and start from scratch, will the license continue to work on the new site providing the domain is the same?

    Thanks,
    Lez

  3. I’m being told that this plugin will not actually translate the text. We need one that will translate from english to japanese. Will this plugin actually translate the text? Please let us know as soon as possible.

  4. i would like to buy the lifetime, but currently my financial status is now alllowed me to do that, is it possible that i buy the nultilingual CMS which price USD79 then i upgrade to life time? if it is possible, am i need to pay for the difference or i need to buy it again with the USD 195?

    • No problem. You can buy the standard version now (one year updates) and upgrade to the Lifetime account later. You will only need to pay the difference.

  5. Hello,

    Pre sales question:

We are interested for the “Multilingual CMS” version. Not the lifetime.
You say that that it has to be renewed after one year.

    The question is:

The renewal fee is only about the support, or we have to pay the renewal fee also to continue to use the product?

    Thank you in advance!

    • When you buy WPML, you get support and updates for a year. If you renew ($39), you get both support and updates for another year.

Is this what you meant to ask?

      • I mean that if we do not renew, will wpml continue to function and more important, will the license continue to be valid?

Or we have to renew to continue using your software?

With other words, buying a license grants us for lifetime license and usage of the wpml?

        • If you don’t renew your account, anything that you have installed already will continue working normally. Nothing will stop working. The only thing is that you will not have access to new versions and support.

I’m sorry but we don’t have a demo version. We offer refunds. If you buy WPML and are not happy, you will get your money back without any problems.

  6. I’m a developer with a client ideally suited for WPML (in theory).

Is there any means to demo wpml before presenting it to the client and then requiring them to buy it?

    • Sorry, but we don’t have a demo version for WPML. We offer refunds up to 30 days from the purchase. If you buy WPML and are not happy, you will get your get your money back promptly.

      Does this help?

      • The answer does help- but not necessarily for the end client.

I dont want to purchase it on their behalf should they ultimately decide they dont like/want it. Unfortunately this is a situation where they are not savvy enough to try it on their own or without a guided introduction and training.

        • Very few people actually ask us for a refund after they buy WPML. Usually, it’s because of misunderstandings, concerning what it does. WPML lets you add several languages to your site and allows you, or your client, to translate the texts. It doesn’t do automated translation.

I’m pretty confident that if this is what you are looking for, you will be most pleased with WPML. But, if not, you can always get your money back.

          • Understood and thank you again.

Considering website projects are always over-budget I’m hoping to put onus on the client to make the purchase. As it’s likely 90 days out before payment is received its well beyond the return window.

Your policy and pricing are genuine but it would be great if a solution were integrated to bridge the gaps between client presentation to going live site to payment.

    • Right. The annul fee is for continued support and renewals. If you decide not to renew, everything that you’ve downloaded before will continue working, but you will not have access to new versions.

  7. A client site is 90% joomla. The news section (www.theirdomain.com/blog) is a WordPress site. The joomla site will be translated into theirdomain.com/nl/rest-of-url, …/en/rest-of-url, etc. Can I use WPML to add …/blog/en/rest-of-url, …/blog/nl/rest-of-url and so on for just the WordPress part of the site?

  8. Hello,

what does “Account renewal per year” mean in the Multilingual CMS?

Do i have to pay the renewal fee so it can be active again after the 1st year?

    • The renewal is required to keep getting our support and downloading NEW versions from us. If you don’t renew, you can keep using the older versions that you downloaded before, including on newer sites.

  9. Dear Pre-sales Department,

For non-profit organization, the license is given on for each website or for any website that a organization owns? Of course, all of the websites should serve non-profit goals.

    Thanks.

  10. I am building a site with news, event, products and job modules. Will your plugin provide me option to post news, jobs and products and events in other language too? Is it compatible with all modules?

  11. I don’t know why my question was erased without getting an aswer. Don’t think anything on it was off topic.

Just in case it was a mistake, here it goes again.

Do you know if the plugin is compatible with the Architecture theme from Goodlayers?

And to know which version I need to purchase:
If I buy the “Multilingual Blog” will I be able to change the main menu of my web, or only the content of the pages?

    Thanks

  12. Hello,

I want to purchase the Multilingual CMS Lifetime. I need to have an Invoice but without my name and account on it… only with the information in the company box …is that possible?

    thanks.
    c

    • No problem. After you buy WPML, you can customize the ‘buyer’ information in your invoice and put whatever you need in it for your tax purposes.

      • Dear Amir,

I just bought WPML lifetime. But i can’t customize my invoice as you told me. Could you help me please? It’s important.

        Thanks 😉
        c

        • After you login to your account, you will see a link to ‘My account settings’. There, you can change your ‘payer’ details. Then, go to ‘Order history’. The invoice will include the updated details. If you need other customizations, please use our contact page, so that we can update your profile manually.

  13. Hi there,
Q1: I’m interested in the lifetime package but not immediately, I want to try out first. To clarify, if I purchase now 2013/10/17 for $79 the update and support ended in 2013/10/16. If I upgrade to lifetime I pay the difference of $116, on or before 2013/10/16, correct? But If I get the lifetime on 2013/10/17 or after, I will need to pay full price $195?
Q2: I’m developing and creating several websites, with different domain names. Can I get one purchase and install it multiple times for all my websites?

    • Sorry for replying late. Yes, you can buy the yearly account now and upgrade to the lifetime account later. You will only need to pay the difference when you upgrade ($116).

When you buy WPML, you can use it on all your sites.

      • Hi, thanks Amir. One thing to note: if I translated the Plugins (free or paid from other developers) using WPML, when the Plugins get update what will happen to my translation? Erased and I have to do it again, if I haven’t saved the copy of the ‘.mo’ or ‘.po’ files? Same question to the WordPress Dashboard translation.

        • When you translate using WPML’s String Translation, all your translations are stored in the database. Nothing will happen to them when plugins update. You can also re-scan these plugins for new or updated strings. All completed translations will remain unchanged and new strings will be added, as needed.

The String Translation doesn’t need .mo files. It stores everything in the DB.

Same for content translation. It doesn’t change unless you change it.

Is this what you wanted to ask?

        • Hi Amir,

our site will be sending out newsletters to subscribers. Is it possible to apply WPML for the newsletters? When our newsletters hit their inbox, they will be able to click on the preferred language, but the settings and graphics are the same from one source?

          Thanks

  14. I purchased WPML 20.Jan.2013 (Invoice ID 1358708353, price 29$, Paypal), but the plugin was deleted when my website was moved to another server.
The plugin may have been purchased in my wifes name, Anne Mette Hjørnholm.

Is there any way I can get the plugin without having to buy it again ?

I tried logging into my account on your website, but either I did not make an account at the purchase time, or something else is wrong…..

  15. Hi,

I would like to know if I purchase the plugin (the Multilingual CMS), is it going to be deactivated after one year?
What exactly Account renewal is ?

    Many thanks.

    • We would never do something like that. If you decide not to renew your account, you will not have access to downloading new versions or support. But, anything that you downloaded and installed before will keep working normally.

Of course, we prefer that you renew your account with us, but WPML will not cause any interruption to your sites if you don’t renew.

  16. What is the WordPress Multisite experience?

With WPML installed as the WordPress Network Admin, can the plugin be activated for specific sub-sites and administered by that (sub)website’s admin independent of other websites?

    • WPML works smoothly on multisite networks. You can activate it either per child site or do network activation for all sites at once. Network activation means that WPML will be enabled for all sites. Language configuration is still done per site, so that each child site can have its own languages.

  17. Hello,

I wanted to clarify if WPML will translate parts of theme to work multilingually? I have three languages: Latvian (main), English and Russian and I need to tranlate website to all three languages. Main problems I`m facing are “Items”, “Search”, “Filter”, “Price” and “ADD TO CART”, see it here https://plus.google.com/photos/106653188123618253686/albums/5933957490083615921?authkey=COnxmdyp_bj2vQE

    Theme is MayaShop – http://themeforest.net/item/mayashop-a-flexible-responsive-ecommerce-theme/2189918

    Thank you.

    • If the theme wraps these texts in GetText calls (as it should), you will see them in WPML’s String Translation screen. 99% of the themes do that. If your theme doesn’t, it’s more like a bug and the theme authors will surely be happy to include GetText support for these texts.
