  1. Hi there
What is the annual charge for (for Blog and CMS version) for? Is it for access to support or is it for upgrades? Is there a way to buy the CMS or Blog verison without having to sign up for an annual charge? Thanks!

    • Yes, the annual charge is for accessing support and upgrades. You can buy a Lifetime account, which costs $195. This gives you support and upgrades forever, without any additional payment or hassle. Quite a few people choose this option.

  2. Hello,

I’m using an WordPress theme called: Response 2.0 (free) from cyberchimps. I was wondering if this theme is also compatible with WPML plugin. If so, that would be great!

If I want to buy this plugin, I want to choose the lifetime account.

    Thanks!

    Best regards,
    Bas

    • I see that we’ve done some work with Cyberchimps:
      http://wpml.org/developer/cyberchimps/

It doesn’t list Response there. From our previous experience, when theme developers work with WPML on one theme, they usually apply the same practices on their other themes.

Things should be fine. If there’s any trouble, I’m sure that our developers and Ciberchimps will be able to work it out. If there is anything that we can’t solve, you can always get your money back, so there’s no risk for you.

      • Thanks for your information/answer! It’s very helpful!

I’ve looked on the website from de developers, CyberChimps and I asked my same question about the compatiblity with WPML with a free theme from them.
They said: Yes, it should work fine with the theme.

        So I think it works.

Only if we can’t resolve this, if I’m having trouble with it and passed over 30 days, can I get also my money back?

I’ll think about it and when I made my choice, I will place an order of this beautiful, powerful plug-in.

        Have a nice day!

        Best regards,
        Bas

  3. This are pre sales question.

Compatibility plugin: Is this plugin compatibie with Booking Calendar?
    http://wpbookingcalendar.com/

Sitemap & SEO: Is this plugin compatible with SEO and sitemap Plugin?
like All In One SEO Pack.

This plugin provide separate permalinks for each language?

This plugin provide the ability to redirect users to the specific language depending from their country of provenience?

    Thanks in advance.
    Fabrizio Azzali

    • I’m not sure about how WPML works with the booking plugin. On a basic level, it should be fine. However, if you are planning on doing bookings for items in different languages, we should check together with the plugin author.

WPML works fine with AIOSEOP. It works even better with Yoast WordPress SEO and its sitemap.

You will have completely separate permalinks and post meta for different languages, so you can do you SEO per language.

WPML includes browser language redirection. This is running based on the language setting in the browser and is very accurate. It runs via Javascript, so it has no negative SEO effects.

      Does this help?

  4. Hi

Interested in running WPML on our new site which has WooCommerce.
First a couple of questions –

    1. WooCommerce payments / gateways have to be pre-set with your chosen main currency. Have read that WPML will allow sales in multi-currency, so wonder how this is?

    2. Probably looking to get the CMS version, but can’t see from your site which Add-Ons (if any) come with the product and if how you buy them. I need 3 – WPML String Translation, WPML Translation Management & WPML Media Translation 2.0 or above

    3. Am member of a club that is selling CMS + Add-Ons for £25 however this does not include support, so if I bought from the club, can I still join WPML and buy support?

Thanks & look forward to hearing from you

    • Multi-currency is a developmental feature for WooCommerce Multilingual. It works right now and we keep enhancing it. We are doing this work together with WooCommerce team. Some of the changes go into our plugin (WooCommerce Multilingual) and some go into WooCommerce itself. WooCommerce 2.1 will include a lot of good new stuff for multi-currency sites.

We will start with adding logic to control the payment processor for different countries soon. Right now, when you add a payment processor, it appears globally. Our intention is to allow enabling payment processors for different countries or currencies.

For WooCommerce sites, you will definitely need the full Multilingual CMS package, which costs $79.

That club is a fake. It doesn’t exist and is selling ripped plugins. It’s not affiliated with us and you should be very careful what you download from it. Nothing from that source is to be trusted and may include code that puts your site in jeopardy. We are in a legal process to get our plugins removed from there, due to trademark infringements. This is the best that we can do to protect our clients. You should be very careful about where you are getting plugins from. Always look for the original source. If someone is providing ‘discount’ themes or plugins, try to think about their motivation. You might be getting discount back doors to your client sites.

    • Hi Amir

Thanks for your quick response and advice, especially regarding the “dodgy” club with whom I will certainly not pursue anything with.

So those 3 x add-ons that I would need to run WC – pls can you confirm if they are already with CMS or if I have to buy them separately and if so, where from?

      Many thanks.

  5. Pre-Sales Question / Clarification

    —–
*I’m re-posting this because my previous post disappeared.
    —–

    Hi WPML

Does the WPML plugin for WordPress automatically translate the content/nav/etc. that a visitor sees (like Google Translate) when the language switcher is used… or does the plugin just create and manage the alternate language pages/posts but then requires manual translation of all content?

I’m referring to the Multilingual CMS Lifetime plugin

Sorry if this question has been asked and answered before but in all that I’ve read so far… I haven’t found if the translations are automatic through the plugin… or still requires manual translation by me.

  6. I submitted an inquiry some time ago as a non-profit organisation, but still I haven’t heard anything. Can you tell me if you received my message?

  7. Hi there,

If I purchase the Multilingual CMS option right now and want to upgrade to the lifetime package, will I have to rebuy or can I just pay the difference?

    Thanks.

  8. Is WPML able to be used with multisite environments?

Can it be configured to be used only in a subset of sites or will be active for all sites?

  9. Hi

I am interested in using your plugin for a project I am currently planning. I want to create a website that will have around 20 pages and 3000 posts that will be available in 7 languages (including the primary language, English).

We hope to attract 200,000 unique visitors to the web site in its first year and the website will be hosted at WP-Engine.

I have read some some chatter on your forums that WPML can be quite slow on large web sites due to the amount of database requests that it needs to make. I appreciate that all large web sites need to be optimised, can you let me if this is a problem with your plugin?

Is there a limitation to your plugin regarding the size of a web site that it can work effectively with?

Are there any large and established web sites that use your plugin that you could show me?

    Kind Regards

    John L

    • Our sites have more content and serve a lot more traffic, without any issues. I know that many people who use WPML serve their sites from wpengine. Their caching is great and I don’t expect you will notice any speed issues.

  10. Shoul I purchase the CMS license for a german client. I will probably never use it again as most South Africa sites are single language. Do you automatically HAVE to pay the yearly cost, or can I make a single purchase, and never worry about upgrades or having to pay a recurring yearly fee?

    • A valid WPML account will let you download new versions and access our support. If you don’t renew, everything will keep working for your client, it you will not get newer versions.

  11. Hi, I’m thinking about upgrading to lifetime account. Can I still do that in 4 months without this option being removed or that the price became higher?

  12. Hi,
I have an expired Multilingual CMS license.
    In my account it says:

“You can buy a new account, or save by upgrading to a Lifetime account at a reduced rate.
Upgrade to a Lifetime account ($116 instead of $195). Buy the Multilingual CMS again ($79).”

But in the purchase page I see that Account renewal per year for Multilingual CMS should cost $39
Why am I asked to buy again the license for full price?

    Thanks

    • Sorry for the late reply. While your account is still valid, you can renew it for additional years, at a cost of $39 / year. Once it expires, you can buy a new yearly account, for $79, or upgrade to a lifetime account for $116.

  13. Developing a real estate website in Spanish. Their will be a IDX subdomain that is in English and wondering if it would automatically translate the subdomain pages into Spanish?

  14. Hello Amir,

    Two questions:

1- I used WPML in 2009, but not again since then. Other than pricing, have there been any major changes since then?

2- Is it possible to buy the WPML CMS license, enjoy the free updates for a year, not renew after year 1, but then start renewing on year x? Will the cost be then 39$? This case may arise when clients don’t want to sign up for maintenance at first, but want to ugrade after a couple of years.

    Thank you.

    • Hello Hector

      1) A lot have changed in the last 4 years. WPML is better and stronger.
The support is also more efficient.

      2) Yes – you can use WPML beyond the end of the subscription. You will have to renew for upgrades and support when you want them.

  15. Hello, I am a bit confused. Does your plugin do automatic translation of the website, or would I have to provide the translations for each page and the plugin just switches them out?? Thank you so much!

    • There are two options:

      – you add translations manually, either using the the standard WordPress post editor interface or the WPML local translation
      – you use the professional translation (ICanLocalize), you send content to translation, pay for the translations and they come back translated by professional translators automatically.

  16. Hi, we are going to buy your service for a new client’ site. However, one of the languages needed is Arabic. In Arabic, the text is read from right to left. Does your plugin account for this need? Does it flip the site horizontally to allow right to left reading? Have you had good success with people using your plugin with Arabic?

    Thanks!
    Brad

  17. Hi there,

We have two questions regarding the Lifetime license:

    1. Does buying a Lifetime license allow web development companies installing the plugin on unlimited websites for their clients, or we are required to buy a single license for each client?

    2. Are we allowed to charge our clients for WPML if we install the same Lifetime license on their websites?

    Thanks.

    • 1. You can use WPML on all your client sites. No need to pay separately per client.

      2. You really shouldn’t be charging money from your clients from WPML. That’s like working as resellers. If you use WPML for sites that YOU build for YOUR clients, they don’t need to pay. If you are marketing WPML and your clients are buying it separately, you are most welcome to use our affiliate program and earn a nice commission from every such sale.

  18. I would like to purchase one of the plugins but I am confused.

Which pluginS should I buy that gives visitors the option to translate the site in their language by choosing a flag? How is it setup?

  19. I have .mo files from WPMUDEV site which allow me to translate in up to 75 languages. You may not have 75 languages so I am need to use the WPMUDEV mo files.

Therefore, Which pluginS should I buy that would allow me to use these files for visitor translation for languages that you do not have?

  20. Hello I purchased the Multilingual CMS plug in and I need to download the Media Translations Module – please advise what I need to do I don’t have account information to log in to the site and I never received email correspondence regarding my previous purchase – thank you

  21. I have a client who would like to use this plugin and they are asking the following question:

If only a couple of items on a page have Spanish versions, and the rest have English only, and you click on the Spanish version. Do you only see what’s available in Spanish, or would you see the Spanish versions of items, and then see the rest in English? We’d like the latter to be the case.

    • You choose. Normally, a page will only show items in that language. If you want, you can duplicate untranslated content (which WPML will automatically do for you) and then you see both what’s translated and what’s not translated. That content duplication allows to retain the navigation in the correct language, while still displaying untranslated content. It’s very easy to use and manage.

  22. Howdy,
We develop website themes using Artisteer. Are there any issues with WPML integration with these themes? We are looking to purchase a lifetime for several clients.

    Thanx for the info.

    Kelly

    • As far as we know, there are no issues between Artisteer themes and WPML. Generally speaking, any theme that uses the WordPress API in a clean way works fine with WPML.

If you are building sites for several clients, you only need to buy WPML once. You can use it for all your client sites.

  23. Hi there,
My client would like to start a multilanguage website. With your plugin is it possible to have the different language sites under subfolders or subdomains, eg mydomainname.com/en and mydomainname.com/fr ?

Also, what if they want a different design for the english and the french language versions? Can this be done?

    Thanks!

    • Yes, certainly. You can place languages in virtual folders (no need to create real folders in your site’s directory) or domains. For different designs, I strongly recommend using different CSS files per language. You should use one theme for the entire site and apply different visual design with CSS. You can use simple conditional logic to check the language and load the correct CSS and other resource files per language.

Would that be OK for your sites?
