This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client is experiencing an issue where the old featured image still appears after updating the post and adding translations using bulk translations, despite not using the WPML Media Translation plugin.

Solution:
If you're experiencing an issue with the featured image not updating correctly across translations:
1. Deactivate the WPML Media Translation plugin if it's active.
2. Navigate to WPML > Settings > Media Translation section.
3. Disable the option "Translate media library texts with posts" and enable all other options. For more details, refer to our documentation on Media Translation.
4. Check if the current featured image is synced to the translation post by going to the Media Library and switching to List mode.

1. Created a post in English
2. Uploaded a featured image
3. saved it as draft
4. remove the featured image
5. add new one
6. update the post
7. added the translations using bulk translations

I still see the old featured image.

Hi Ravi,

Thank you for contacting WPML support, I'd be happy to help you with this issue.

I can see that issue on my demo site. It could be an expected behavior when the images are attached to the post and they are available in WPML > Translation Management, just for translation. You can see images attached to a post in Media Library > Switch to List mode.
However, the current featured image is synced to the translation post as well. Can you please confirm this?

Look forward to your reply.
Thanks
