I am trying to: change langauge

Link to a page where the issue can be seen: hidden link

I expected to see: hidden link

Instead, I got: hidden link it does not switch,

I ran all your suggested fixes under trouble shooting that broke the site so I want and restored the db backup

hidden link does switch back either

but all other pages, home etc switch

I understood that the language switcher is not working properly on the Shop page. This kind of issue usually happens if the translated version of a page is not properly linked to its default version. Would you please follow the steps below and make sure that the translated and default version of the page is connected?

- Navigate to "Pages > All" Pages section
- Switch to the German language using the Language switcher on the top bar.
- Locate and Open the German Shop page.
- Check the "language meta" section of the page and make sure that the page is connected with the default version of the page. The dropdown, "This is a Translation of" should contain the name of the default page. Please check this screenshot for a better understanding: hidden link

If the Page is not connected, then please connect that page with the default version by following the documentation below.

If the issue persists even after that, kindly share the debug information of your site so that I can get a better overview of the WPML configuration and let you know an update soon.

Shop page is ok the pages are translated independently, and is a translation of...

but as I stated the shop page controlled from Elementor Template as the shop page, but these also are linked correctly

But see screenshot in translation management shows published the template and the page
but in translations says in progress - i followed this guide but still in progress not sure if this is the cause https://wpml.org/forums/topic/translations-stuck-in-in-progress-or-updating/

Thank you for checking and sharing the updates.

A closer inspection will require to identify the root cause of the issue. I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to take a better look at the issue. It would be better to have a testing site where the issue is replicated.

You will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply. The information you will enter is private which means only you and I can see and have access to it.

Maybe I'll need to replicate your site locally. For this, I’ll need to temporarily install a plugin called “Duplicator” or "All in One WP Migration" on your site. This will allow me to create a copy of your site and your content. Once the problem is resolved I will delete the local site. Let me know if this is ok with you.

-Please make a backup of site files and database before providing us access.
-If you do not see the wp-admin/FTP fields this means your post & website login details will be made PUBLIC. DO NOT post your website details unless you see the required wp-admin/FTP fields. If you do not, please ask me to enable the private box. The private box looks like this:

I had enabled the private field for you but maybe for some reason, it wasn't showing correctly on your end.

Thanks for sharing the access information.

I've checked and am happy to inform you that the issue is solved now. The problem occurred because the Shop page was not specified correctly in WooCommerce. I have selected the Shop page by going to "WooCommerce > Settings > Product" and that solves the issue.
