I need to provide a comprehensive update as the situation is still complex, and we are experiencing new and persistent issues:

1. Persistent Product Saving Error (Critical Error):
Despite updating WooCommerce Multilingual to version 5.5.1 (and ensuring all other WordPress core, plugins, and theme builders are fully updated), the critical error on saving products still persists. When we attempt to save any product, we still receive the critical error message on the site, identical to the screenshot previously provided. It seems the WCML update did not fully resolve this specific fatal error in our environment.

2. Better Workflow for Products with Downloadable Files (ACF) - URGENT:
Our most critical outstanding issue is the workflow for translating WooCommerce products that use an ACF field for "File Scaricabile" (Downloadable File). This field must link to a different PDF for each language.
We desperately need clear and definitive guidance on:
What is the correct, recommended, and error-free workflow in WPML, WooCommerce Multilingual, and ACF to manage downloadable WooCommerce products where each language translation requires a different PDF file?

3. Elementor "Products" Module Not Displaying Products:
Finally, we have discovered another related display issue: on our English "The Green Formula" page, the Elementor "Products" module (WooCommerce widget) is not displaying any products, despite all products being translated and visible when Browse the shop directly. This seems to be a separate display issue within Elementor's integration with translated WooCommerce content.

We understand that you previously mentioned handling Elementor-related issues in a separate ticket, but given the sheer volume of interconnected problems all stemming from translation/product management, we kindly request a holistic review to avoid opening countless tickets. Our goal is to have a fully functional multilingual e-commerce site.

Please provide us with comprehensive solutions and workflows for all the points outlined above. We have provided all necessary access in previous replies.

Thank you for your persistent efforts to help us resolve these critical issues.

Hi there,

You can translate the original PDF link in the advanced translation editor as explained in the following guide:
https://wpml.org/announcements/2020/02/translating-links-with-advanced-translation-editor/

Also, please review how to translate ACF fields using our glue plugin in the following documentation:
https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/translate-sites-built-with-acf/

As far as the documentation none of the methods work.
When I click on the + like the documentation says it doesn't open the page that you see there but it opens this one. I can edit the PDF file by deleting the Italian one and saving, but it says on the top of the screen that if I open the translation in the WPML editor everything will be lost.
And when I try the other method by editing the link in the WPML translator the field doesn't show.

Thank you for the update!

There are two ways you can achieve the desired result:

Using WPML Media Translation
Try using the WPML Media plugin to add a translation for the PDF files. This method generally works as expected. You can follow the official guide here:
https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/media-translation/

Using the Native WordPress Editor
The warning message is accurate, and here’s what it means:
You can manually update the PDF link in the editor to point to the correct file. However, please note that if you later update the default language content and re-open the translation in the WPML Translation Editor, the PDF file may be overwritten. You would need to re-adjust the link again. Aside from this limitation, this approach is safe to use.

Hello, i the future we will need to translate Spanish products too.
I was testing the translation so I could record a tutorial for future reference but I culn't replicate what i did in the english products.

The settings are the same, Same product name, same weight ecc... as the italian products, the only difference should be the pdf file attached, which should be in spanish obviously.

What I'm saying is that the option to edit the downloadable file field isn't there.

There's a lock on the field

Hello,

I apologize for the delay in responding. Bobby is off on a paternity leave. I will take care of this ticket.

I would like to request temporary access to your site to take a better look at the issue.
It would be better to a testing site where the issue is replicated.

The information you will enter is private which means only you and I can see and have access to it.
Maybe I'll need to replicate your site locally. For this, I'll need to temporarily install a plugin called “Duplicator” or "All in One WP Migration" on your site.
This will allow me to create a copy of your site and your content.
Once the problem is resolved I will delete the local site.

**IMPORTANT**
- Please make a backup of site files and database before providing us access.
- If you do not see the wp-admin/FTP fields this means your post & website login details will be made PUBLIC. DO NOT post your website details unless you see the required wp-admin/FTP fields.

Best Regards,
Otto

Hello,

Thanks.

I noted that you set the ACF field groups to translatable. But this is not recommended:
https://wpml.org/errata/advanced-custom-fields-field-group-should-be-set-as-not-translatable/

I suggest you to do the following:
- Go to WPML > Settings > Post Types Translation > and set "Field Groups (acf-field-group)" to Not translatable
- Then in ACF > Field Groups deactivate "Pagina de producto ES" and "Product Page ENG", so you don't have the fields three times with different settings.
- After this, make a small edit in the original product: i.e., "Acimix PS"
- Then, when you edit the translations of the product, you'll be able to edit the PDF file to download in each language.

Here you have a detailed explanation of ACF Multilingual settings:
https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/translate-sites-built-with-acf/

Best Regards,
Otto

I tried and it works, but When I go to translate another product I have to translate it manually which is not ideal.

For the text fields it's not an issue but for the ACF fields with the multi option (Select Format, Select icons and the input link fields) it's really troubling to have to select manually the voices of the specific product.

I tried copying the content from italian and it copies the text fields but not the ones i told you previously.

The same goes for the Product Image, we have many products and having to look for the right picture every time is time consuming.

If there is a way we can optimize it?

Thank you for your time

Hello,

So, you want that the select fields copy the selection from the original product, right?

You can decide what to do with the translations by field. For example, if you want to keep the same selection in the translation for "Seleziona icone", go to ACF > Field group > Edit "Pagina Prodotto ITA" and for that field in the section "Translation preferences" choose "Copy".

If you want to copy the field but afterward have the option to modify it, choose "Copy once". This way, when you create the translation the selection will be copied from the original, but you'll be able to modify it.

Best Regards,
Otto
