This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
You have a WooCommerce shop in English and Italian. A product tag '1970s' in English and its Italian translation 'Anni 70' are incorrectly displayed. The Italian tag shows under English tags with a wrong slug and fewer products than expected.
Solution:
If you're experiencing this issue, we recommend you try the following steps:
1. Navigate to WPML > Support > Troubleshooting.
2. Click on the following buttons:
- Clear the cache in WPML
- Set language information
- Fix terms count
- Fix post type assignment for translations
3. Clear the caches from your site and browser.
4. Verify if the translated category still appears under the default language.
If the problem continues, open the translated category, set the language information, and manually link the category with the default category. For guidance, watch this video.

Hello,
I have an e-commerce shop with WooCommerce, and in 2 languages, the default is English, and the translation is Italian.

I have a Product Tag that is "1970s" (slug hidden link)
Its translation had always been "Anni 70" (slug 1970s-it).

Now, suddenly I realized that "Anni 70" is showing under the English tags and its link is hidden link (but shows zero items matching the selection), while the translated slug has become 1970s-it-2 (hidden link) and has very few products instead of the 130+ products it's supposed to have.

What happened?

Thank you!

Hello There,
Thanks for contacting WPML Support.

I understand the issue you're having. It seems the language information has been removed from that taxonomy, which is why it is currently showing in the default language. Please try the following steps to see if they help resolve the issue:

1. Go to WPML > Support > Troubleshooting.
2. Scroll down and click on the following buttons:
- Clear the cache in WPML
- Set language information
- Fix terms count
- Fix post type assignment for translations
3. Clear the caches from your site and browser.
4. Check if the translated category is still showing under the default language.

If the issue persists, you will need to open the translated category, set the language information, and manually connect the category with the default category. Please check hidden link">this video to understand the process.

I hope the steps above will help. Please feel free to let me know if you need further assistance in this matter. I will be happy to help.

Best regards,
Prosenjit
