Background of the issue:
I am trying to use the WooCommerce filter plugin from Barn2 on my translated website. The main language is Dutch, and I am trying to use the filter in alternative languages like French or English. I suspect there might be a setting issue with WPML.

Symptoms:
The filter plugin does not show a product after making a selection in the translated languages, even though the categories or attributes are correctly chosen.

Questions:
Probably I might have not set something right with WPML? Any idea how I can fix this?

Hi,

Are you using the WooCommerce Product Filters plugin by Burn2 Media?
hidden link
https://wpml.org/plugin/woocommerce-product-filters/
Or maybe it is another plugin by the same author?
https://wpml.org/developer/barn2-media-2/
As you can see, many of their plugins are officially compatible with WPML and WooCommerce Multilingual & Multicurrency.
Please make sure to follow the guide on how to work with any of those plugins and with WPML.

Please answer my questions, and if you need further help, please share your site's Debug information. You can read about it here.

Itamar.

I believed it was clearly communicated that the issue lies with the WooCommerce product filter from Barn2.

I have completed all necessary translations within the WPML multilingual settings for attributes, categories, and more.

In my primary language, Dutch, the filter works perfectly and displays all options.

You can see this at the following link: [Harbor of Men Shop](hidden link).

However, when switching to the translated language, French, the filter does not show any available options for filtering.

You can check this here: [Harbor of Men Boutique in French](hidden link).

Additionally, I am unable to locate a way to translate the filter labels (like "hoofdmaat") that I created in the backend with the Barn2 WooCommerce product filter. I have tried the WPML plugin and theme settings, but without success.

Could someone please log in and take a look to identify where the problem might be?

Hi,

I am sorry for any inconvenience you were caused.

Indeed, we state that this plugin is officially compatible with WPML. However, I just read the following on their guide, hidden link">Translating WooCommerce Product Filters into other languages.

Does WooCommerce Product Filters work with WPML?
In general, you can use WooCommerce Product Filters with WPML - for example, using its string translation feature. However, there is one limitation that we are aware of, in which certain filters (such as attribute filters) may not show the filter options in all languages.

This is a complex issue to fix and will require quite a lot of redevelopment work in the plugin. As a result, we are tracking the demand for full WPML integration. Please submit a feature request if you would like this - this will help us to consider whether to add it in future. In the meantime, we apologise for the inconvenience and would encourage you to use WooCommerce Product Filters with a different translation plugin such as Weglot or TranslatePress if you experience this problem.

We will do our best to help from our side. If you need further help with this, please share the access details to your site with me. I'm enabling a private message for the following reply.

I'll check if we can suggest a workaround or a fix for this issue. If not, we will try replicating this issue on a sandbox site, and I'll escalate it to our compatibility team.

Itamar.

Hi, and thanks for the access details.

Can you please explain to me where are the settings for the WooCommerce Product Filters plugin?

I searched in a few places but could not fund them.

Please note that my weekend is Friday-Saturday, and I'll be able to continue to check this issue and help you on Sunday.

Regards,
Itamar.

Hi, and thanks for the access details.

I could replicate this problem on a sandbox site with WPML, WooCommerce, and the Woocommerce Product Filters by Barns2 plugin. I think it is the same problem that is already known to Barns2. I'm talking about what I mentioned in a previous reply, which is mentioned in this link.

I escalated this issue to our compatibility team. They will investigate this issue and, if possible, will provide a workaround. I'll keep you updated here on any news regarding this issue.

I appreciate your patience.
Itamar.
