Hi,
my site is using 3 languages (EN / default, DE, IT)
Within the Admin when i click on a Field Group the language changes to German.

Does it matter in which language ACF Fields are being setup?

Hi, Lukas.

Since English is the default language of your site, you should create the ACF fields in English. Please review our ACF guide here.

I'm unsure why you get this behavior. Please share with me access to your site and explain the steps I should take to see this problem.

Hi, and thanks for the access details.

I can see this problem on your site. Please let me ask you a few questions.

1. Do you face other problems working with ACF and WPML (specifically with the 'Product Category' fields)?

2. Is it possible that in the past, the field-group post type was set to be translatable?
(this is something that we do not recommend).

3. Did you have your site's default language set to German in the past, and then you changed it to English?

Please also try WPML's troubleshooting section to see if it solves this problem. You can read about it here.

Here are the steps.

1. Take a backup of the DB of your site.

2. Go to WPML -> Support -> Troubleshooting (link)

3. Once on the troubleshooting screen, press the following buttons and check if it helps. Press each button at a time and wait for the process to complete.

- 'Disable cache for language switcher templates'

- 'Clear the cache in WPML'

- 'Remove ghost entries from the translation tables'

- 'Clear language information and repopulate languages' button (if it is showing)

- 'Fix element_type collation'

- 'Fix WPML tables collation'

- 'Assign translation status to duplicated content'

- 'Set language information'

- 'Reset languages' Press this button only if you didn't add a custom language!

- 'Fix terms count'

- 'Fix post type assignment for translations'

- 'Cleanup and optimize string tables'

*** Please make a backup of your database before using this.***
