Hi There,
Thanks for contacting WPML Support. I will try my best to assist you in this matter.

It appears that the mentioned page has been automatically translated, but since you haven't reviewed and approved the translation, the translated page has not been published. As a result, the translated contents are not visible.

Please review and approve the translation by following the documentation below. Hopefully, the issue will be resolved after that.

Let me know the update. I will be happy to assist you if you need further assistance in this matter.

Best Regards,
Prosenjit

Hi There,

I hope you're doing well. Sorry for the delay in responding due to the Weekend.

Please be informed that the pages are translated properly into other languages and they are saved already. Please don't worry about that. Since the pages are translated automatically and also the translation review is enabled for the Automatic translation(on WPML > Settings -> "Automatic Translation" section), the translated contents will not appear in the Frontend till you approve the translation. Please check this screenshot(hidden link) for a better understanding.

Since the items that require review are not visible even after following the documentation, a closer inspection is necessary to identify the root cause. I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to take a better look at the issue.

It would be better to have a testing site where the issue is replicated.

You will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply. The information you will enter is private which means only you and I can see and have access to it.

Maybe I'll need to replicate your site locally. For this, I’ll need to temporarily install a plugin called “Duplicator” or "All in One WP Migration" on your site. This will allow me to create a copy of your site and your content. Once the problem is resolved I will delete the local site. Let me know if this is ok with you.

IMPORTANT
-Please make a backup of site files and database before providing us access.
-If you do not see the wp-admin/FTP fields this means your post & website login details will be made PUBLIC. DO NOT post your website details unless you see the required wp-admin/FTP fields. If you do not, please ask me to enable the private box. The private box looks like this:

Looking forward to your response.

Best regards,
Prosenjit

My friend is the website owner and he just delete the plugin because he lose traffic already now there is duplicate content everywhere.. he just buy this website for 40 000 usd and he scare for his seo now.

i think a refund for all translated content on this website is the best because he don't know how to make a save of his website on a ftp. and i will delete this website from my wpml account just after.

we choose paid plugin because we don't know how to coding and we cannot fix so he will keep only one language better.

Hi There,
I hope you're doing fine and am sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

I understood the situation and am sorry for any inconvenience you had. I'd like to inform you that when you're translating using WPML, It creates a replica of the default post but, include the necessary properties in the post/page to behave correctly in a multilingual environment. Now, if you deactivate the plugin, the translated page/post will be listed as duplicate in the page and post area.

In your case, Right after getting your report, I checked our translation management system and noticed that the pages are translated properly, but as the translation review was enabled in WPML > Settings > "Automatic translation" section, the translation was waiting to be reviewed(Screenshot: hidden link). For that reason, I shared the documentation on reviewing and accepting translation, in my first response(#13680359).

Kindly be informed that disabling the plugin is not an optimal solution. Since you haven't received the solution that you were looking for, I requested access to the site for further investigation.

If possible, please re-enable the WPML plugin on your site and allow me to inspect the issue from your end. If I manage to identify a solution, I will provide you with detailed instructions so that you can resolve similar issues independently in the future. Your cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated.

Please also be informed that the credits that are already used for Automatic translation are not refundable. When you start using the Automatic translation, we start paying the amount to the translation Engine. You can find the information here: https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/automatic-translation-pricing/#refunds-for-automatic-translation-credits

I hope you can understand the matter. Looking forward to your response.

Best Regards,
Prosenjit

Hi There,

I can understand your situation and but, according to our credit refund policy, we can't refund the used credits as mentioned here: https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/automatic-translation-pricing/#refunds-for-automatic-translation-credits

But, considering your situation, I have forwarded this ticket to the respective team for further checking. I will surely let you know when I have any updates on this matter.

Best Regards,
Prosenjit.

I hope you're doing well. Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

I have discussed with my superiors regarding this matter and I have an update to share with you.

Hello There,

I completely can understand your situation. I would like to inform you that we have dealt with similar issues in the past and successfully resolved them. But, In order to provide you with an effective solution, we expect a bit of cooperation from our client as well.

If you have used Automatic Translation to translate the contents and found that the translations have been completed correctly but are not appearing on the front end, there are a few possible reasons for this issue. One likely reason is that the translations might still be in the review stage or that the translated page is saved as a draft. By addressing these possibilities, the translated content should be visible on the frontend as expected.

However, we always try our best to keep our clients happy. Considering your situation, I already have forwarded this matter to the respective team for further checking. I will surely let you know as soon as I have any update for you in this matter.

Best Regards,
Prosenjit

Hello there!

I'm a support manager and i'd like to know something from you:

From what i see you worked directly on a live website and you mentioned that your friend "lost traffic" but how come if the translations never appeared and the problems you mentioned were always in english or weren't published at all? may i know how did they lose traffic from this problem?

In WPML, any search engine will have the links to the translations but they will also know they are translations of an original page. At most they won't index the translations if they are "duplicates" of the original but they will never penalize you for them, not even if you have a perfect clone of the same original language in other languages and in most scenarios, if you have correct language codes, they will even index them and show them as the version of that language of your site (without you having to do anything more than enabled WPML).

-------------------

You also mention that you had translated the content, but your friend then disabled WPML. If he didn't reset it (which is the correct way to go here), then he can enable it again, go to WPML > Languages and actually delete all the "duplicate" content that he's seeing when he disabled WPML before he resets WPM --> https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/deleting-languages-and-plugin-data-by-doing-a-wpml-reset-on-your-site

So far, this sounds like your friend panicked for something he saw and was afraid of his site which is understandable, but don't worry, that's not how things work and by just enabling WPML back in the meantime, he won't have any negative SEO effect and we can help solve his problem and not a problem coming from WPML. you can show this message to your friend in case he doesn't believe you 🙂

I'm going to concede the refund of the credits this time only because i understand you have no power over what your client is doing but please know this is an exception, not a rule (our rule is actually that we don't offer refunds for these types of issues since, again, we didn't even have a chance to actually look if the problem is a technical one or just a configuration one which is very likely the case here)

Regards.
