[Resolved] Featured image is not showing for Translations
This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem:
The Featured image was missing from the translated posts.
Solution:
It was a compatibility issue between the Default Featured Image plugin and WPML. Either remove the image from Settings >> Media > Default featured image field and press the Save changes button or deactivate that plugin.
Issue #1: I have Site Default language as English but some of my content creator has created a content in french now I want to use the auto translations to translate that content to English, Spanish and Russian but when I go to auto translate it is not working
-> Not possible!
Issue #2: If I translate the content from English to Any language, I am not able to see the featured image in that language. I have disable the WPML Media addon as I want to show same images in all translated versions of content
I have tried to check the issue in the minimal environment on your staging/test site and the site got inaccessible due to the critical error: hidden link
Could you please provide me the FTP login details of your staging/test site so that I can further debug the featured image issue?
I have enabled the private input box for your next reply.
We Do not have FTP credentials there. And there are certain plugins you will need to allow the site work. I have enable the twentytwentytwo theme for you. Site should work now. Please check.
1. Thanks for restoring the site. I checked the issue in the minimal environment and the issue is arising due to the Default featured image plugin.
It seems a compatibility issue between Default Featured image and WPML plugins as I can’t find that plugin in our verified compatibility plugin list: https://wpml.org/plugin/
2. In the meanwhile, please remove the image from Settings >> Media > Default featured image field and press the Save changes button or deactivate that plugin and it will start working correctly for new posts automatically.
3. After that, for existing posts you need to re-save the default language posts once to copy the featured image into secondary languages posts. You may use the Quick Edit method by following the below steps:
- Go to Posts >> All Posts
- Choose the Edit option from Bulk actions dropdown.
- Press the Apply button.
- Press the Update button without doing any change.
You may change the number of items per page from screen options as you can see in the attached screenshot.
Please let me know if this resolves your issue or if you need further assistance
