I've got the dev environment hidden link. About 24 hours ago I added the keys to shift the content that's translated in dev site to live one (hidden link). Can you please tell me how much time it'll take to shift the translated content? Or if there is anything else that needed to be done. |

Hi there! You won't need to wait. For migrating (or duplicate) your site between domains, my recommendation is that you use a plugin like "Duplicator": Documentation can be found here: Here is a small tutorial on how to use Duplicator: After you migrate your site to the new domain, you will just need to go to WPML.org > Account > Sites (https://wpml.org/account/sites) and remove the old key that you were using on the other domain and generate a new key for the new domain. After that, go back to the newly migrated website backend > Plugins > Add new > Commercial and register the new key (you might need to click "Unregister" first). I hope that you will find this information helpful! Kind regards, |

Hi Mihai - I think I wasn't able to explain my question. We don't want to make changes in live production site (www.whyislam.org) as it could result in downtime and slow speed for our website visitors. Hence, we've made the translations on our development site (dev.whyislam.org). As per my understanding from a previous ticket in my account, we will not be charged for translations if it was already done on our dev server and it's the same translation that is being done in live site. So my question is - how do I see the translations on the live site? |

Hi there. To answer your latest question: the translations themselves are saved in the database of the site. To migrate them over the live site, yes, you won't be charged for that but the database needs to be migrated. What you might be referring to is the translation memory (https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/how-wpml-keeps-track-of-your-translations/) - as long as you are using the same automatic translation account on both sites (live and production), yes, any word that you translated already will be kept into the translation memory so that you don't get charged again for the same words. But the translations won't be synced from one site to another without any input from your side (by migrating the database). I hope that this helps and explains a bit more how things work. Mihai |

Hi there, Thank you for your reply. I can't migrate the database over dev and live, because both are different site. Tell me, how can I move translations? Thank you! |

Got it. I did not know they are 2 different websites. Please take a look at the first existing tickets here: Our recommendation is to use the WP All Import plugin. That's what we support and recommend for this exact situation you find yourself in. Mihai |

Hi there. My pleasure! Yes, I understand what you wanted. That plugin is the one that will allow you to migrate/move to the other site exactly what you want. We also have an add-on for that one but you need to have that plugin first: That's the best recommendation that I can make at the moment. Mihai |

Here's the situation, we don't want to make changes directly to the live site (www.whyislam.org), so we installed and translated on the dev site (dev.whyislam.org). For example, this page - hidden link Question - How do I create the Spanish translation of this page on live site? |

Thank you for the info. You can either copy-paste the translation manually and translate manually on the other site (https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/using-different-translation-editors-for-different-pages/) or use the WP All Import, as I mentioned above. The WP All Import would let you migrate in bulk but if you are fine with manually copy-pasting content, then you can go that route, too. There's no other option at this point for this exact specific situation. These are the two options you can choose from. Mihai |
