Slow time when switching language on the frontend
Solution:
This is the technical support forum for WPML - the multilingual WordPress plugin.

Hi, Thank you for contacting the support forum. Sorry, we have a higher load than usual and limited capacity at the moment. About your issue, this is not slow, you are using a different domain for language. When switching the language WPML sends the request to the server first to prepare data sharing and then loads the 2nd language. If you wish you can disable this feature so it won't send the request to server before loading the page but then you can't share the data between domains and some features of other plugins might not work correctly. Hi, On the WPML → Languages page, under the Language URL Format section, you can find the Pass session arguments between domains through the language switcher option. It synchronizes this session data among domains and languages. Can you chose "disable this feature" and observe the performance then? Regards, |
