I translated some text strings into French, but they are not reflected on the website. When I checked the strings under WPML settings, they still appear in English. However, when I tried to edit them, the text shows in French as it was already translated. Please see the attached screenshots from the homepage for strings that are not translated.
Additionally, I'm using the Yoast SEO plugin and would like to know if I need to work on SEO for English pages only, or if the SEO meta settings will be automatically translated to French. Do I need to work on SEO for French pages separately?

I understand the issue you're having. I've checked the homepage and it seems the French language has recently been set as the default language of the site. The default page appears to be created in English and later translated into French.
However, upon reviewing the elements in the French version of the site that remain untranslated, I noticed they all share a class name beginning with "sc_item". Given that the page was constructed using the "WPBakery Page Builder", could you clarify whether these elements, which aren't displaying translated content, are associated with the theme or originate from a different plugin?
Since some elements with the same class name display the contents properly translated, could you please try the following and check if you;re getting the expected results or not?
- Please go to "WPML > Packages"
- Look for any package that has the ID "236". If you find that, select the package and delete it.
- Now, since the page was created in English language, open the English version of the homepage in WordPress Editor
- Make a small edit in the page title and save the changes.
- A translation update will be triggered due to that. Proceed to update the French translation. Make sure to 100% complete the translation and save it.

I followed your instructions, and now it seems to be working. However, the translation may disappear later on. Even before, I could see the translation reflected upon the change, but after some time, it goes back to default English.
It seems you forgot to reply to my question regarding SEO.
Another question: I want the image (attached) on the home page to be different in French. I have both images, but when choosing French, it appears on both French and English pages.

If the translation is getting removed randomly, the issue could be happening due to the caches. Please always clear the caches right after making any updates. Additionally, when adding content to the page, always make the updates to the English version first, and then proceed to update the French translation. As the source page language is English, this sequence ensures consistency across translations.

When using the Yoast SEO Plugin, it's essential to ensure that the "WPML SEO" plugin remains active on your website. This enables SEO settings such as meta information, keywords, and descriptions to be accessible within the translation editor while translating a page or post. Upon finishing the translation, these settings will automatically apply to the translated version. It is not required to adjust the SEO configuration separately for each translated page or post.
In response to displaying a different image in French - If you want to display a different image in the translated version, you can use the "WPML Media Translation" plugin. Hello, Thanks for your reply, I will into the plugin for a different image in FRench and will let you know how it goes. Regarding the SEO question, since my defautl language in French and targeting mostly french people, I have already worked on some meta-descriptions and keywords on my pages in french, should I remove everything and follow your suggestion to work only on english pages and translate them or there is other option to keep what I did for french pages ?
Other question, if using targeted keyword and meta-description for a page, that doesn't mean the translation to french will be a targeted keyword for french language, it could be probably a different keyword?
If you have already manually optimized the SEO for certain French pages, you can leave them unchanged. For the remaining pages, optimize the SEO on the English versions first, and then proceed to translate the page. Within the Translation Editor, you will find the SEO-related content accessible for adjustments, you can then adjust the SEO content specifically for the French language according to your requirements.
In response to the other question- Yes, that's correct. When you translate keywords and meta-descriptions from one language to another, in this case from English to French, the direct translation may not necessarily serve as an effective or targeted keyword for the French-speaking audience. Therefore, you have the flexibility to modify the translation, ensuring that the meta-descriptions and keywords are appropriately tailored for the French audience according to your requirements.
