Thanks. I created/applied for a new Registration. The system is now telling me that languages must be mapped ?!
But I don't understand how they are not
I also get these alerts under Languages. So I reset English and French on the right-most fields, saved, and the alerts disappeared, but reappeared upon page refresh..
Please go to WPML >> Settings >> Automatic Translation and make sure the Translation Engine is enabled. You can refer to the documentation below for more details.
I activated all 4 engines (guess one would have been sufficient but for now I guess that can make us move to the next issue).
The slug and title in the EN (secondary language) are not what appears in the front end... The button 'BACK' at the end of the page is part of a template, hence why it appearin English.
Have always been confused with the 'assigned to translator.. Withe the Classic system I would always for the original page and click the Pencil (now a perpetual cogwheel...), hate all the complicated backend with waiting lists of translations assigned etc etc.. as I am alone to do it all anyway. Why would I assign a task to myself ?
But it has never caused issues not does it on sites I started fresh using the Advanced Editor.
Thank you for the updates. Sorry for the late response because of the weekend.
When using the Advanced Translation Editor, you can automatically translate posts and pages from the WPML Translation Management Dashboard. The wheel icon indicates that the translation is either still in progress or requires updates. Please refer to the following documentation links for more details.
I do not think you understood what I said about the BACK button.
I mentioned it to say that everything else apart from the post entry is ok on the page meaning the MENU/header and the BACK button at they both belong to templates that have been translated ages ago and are working fine and do not need translation.
That was to express that pressing the EN menu button does take us to the EN but that the content itself of the post and the slug remain untranslated, which is odd. Not sure how WPML works that it can not use the translated slug YET take us the the secondary language (EN).
In any case the mapping issue has been settled so this thread is I believe not useful anymore.
Thank you for the updates. We can continue the troubleshooting of the template translation issue in the main ticket. Please provide the site credentials there so we can proceed with the investigation.
