Thanks for the explanation, I understood perfectly well what you are telling me.

So, we're cornering the issue and I think we got the CACHE to blame. Maybe to the point that I won't be able to benefit of CACHE plugins on the sites where I use wpml?

FYI I have another site with WPML which CACHE was being a headache to the point that I simply turned CACHE OFF to operate that site. The thing is that is a light site just a landing page. In this case it would do my website rather heavy because is a much bigger site.

Regarding the Taxonomies appearing hidden link take a look. I already disabled BREEZE and OBJECT CACHE both of them and then went and TICK the option and saved, but when I edit the translation those taxonomies still appear, not like in the past.

Regarding the UPDATE I would be glad to do so... but how? I only know how to update when wordpress tells me there's an update for the plugin. If you can tell me how to do it I would be happy to do so.

AA

Hi,

So I found how to update... I had to delete everything and create a DEVELOPMENT SITE KEY but I manage to do it following your support site instructions

I attach a screenshot of the current versions of everything installed as well as a screenshot from the translation post where I still see the taxonomies being displayed even though the checkbox for that option is ticked

Any ideas?

Thanks

Well, WPML should work with cache plugin. Breeze is not one we tested but if the issue is with it we'll see if we can find a solution.

I see you updated, did you test if the issue still happens?

I'm not sure why you still see the taxonomies - it mya be the option only works with the Advanced Editor - but I would take care of it after we solve the main problem

Yes, please take a look what's happening with cache, maybe that's not it? I use OBJECT CACHE that comes with the server and BREEZE that also comes with the server. Both deactivated right now on staging.

I updated, and the issue still happens as you can see on the screenshots I shared on the previous post, you can take a look for yourself.

Advanced editor also shows the taxonomies, I shared a screen shot a couple of messages back where I can also see taxonomies, and it was worse, as it ask me to translate a taxonomy that wasn't picking up the translation... so go figure...

If you can take a look at staging to see if we can find a solution so I can go back to normal I would appreciate!

Important: see attachment. If I create a POST from scratch, that's TEST 2, and then I add translation WITHOUT DUPLICATING, I mean, I copy all fields manually. Then you can see it's displays correctly.

I think this should help you to find the problem, as it seems it's with the DUPLICATED posts that's something going on....

Thanks

Yes, it's clear it's only a duplicate issue. We need to debug further, I'll let you have news as soon as possible.

The 2nd tiers suggested a workaround using code, I've tested it and it works but it's causing other kind of conflicts so it can't be considered a solution.

I'm escalating the ticket, I'll let you have news as soon as possible.

Thanks for the update, I was wondering what's going on.

I'm glad that you found the problem and are working to fix it, no rush on my side as I can work knowing there are this issues, but as soon as you know something please let me know so I can also use the staging for other tests.

Thanks for your time and your help

We created a small plugin and loaded it in the mu-plugin folder and it works now. Our devs are seeking a more permanent solution, but for now there's nothing else we can do.

Hi!

I can see now that it's back to normal, great!

Would you be so kind of sharing me the link to download that plugin so I can Install it on the LIVE site?

This stagging site won't be published, it's just for working around so I need to replicate what you did on the LIVE site

Thanks

It's not public so you can't download it. However, it's in the wp-content/mu-plugin/ folder of the staging site and it's called compdev-220.php

You can take it from there and just upload it on the site you need.

Thanks! So... if I understand correctly, I just upload that php file to the mu-plugin folder and that's it? no more actions required for it to work?

Thanks

Did you clear the cache? Did you update the original post before translating it?

November 2, 2023 at 6:55 pm #14720601

alejandroA-19

Yes I cleared cache

What do you mean update original post? I thought this was supposed to fix that when editing duplicated translation for the first time those taxonomies shouldn't appear.
