Problem:
The client is experiencing issues with the language switcher in the footer displaying with a light background despite choosing the Grey setting. Additionally, there are concerns about the shop page filters changing language when a filter is applied, and an error when loading the shop page after installing WPML.
Solution:
1. We recommend checking the exact color code used for the language switcher and where it was added in the site's backend. It's possible that the custom color code is being overwritten by the theme's existing colors.
2. We suggest creating a full website backup and then performing a conflict test by disabling all plugins except WPML and its add-ons. If the issue persists, switch to a default theme like TwentySeventeen to see if the problem is related to the current theme.
3. If the theme is identified as the issue, the client can contact the theme's support team for a fix or join our 'Go Global' program for assistance in making the theme fully compatible with WPML.
4. Alternatively, hiring a front-end developer or a WPML contractor from WPML contractors can provide a quick fix as this may require custom coding.
5. As a temporary solution, consider using a horizontal language switcher instead of a dropdown.
