[Waiting for user confirmation] Importing woocommerce categories
This is the technical support forum for WPML - the multilingual WordPress plugin.
Everyone can read, but only WPML clients can post here. WPML team is replying on the forum 6 days per week, 22 hours per day.
Our wait time is higher than usual, please make sure you are meeting the minimum requirement - https://wpml.org/home/minimum-requirements before you report issues, and if you can take a look at current Known Issues - https://wpml.org/known-issues/. Thank you.
Symptoms:
The export import plugin does not show the option to synchronize imported items, and the imported items for additional languages are not synchronized with the default language.
Questions:
The parent import identifier and the identifier of the second language import must be the same?
Welcome to the WPML support forum. Before passing this thread to my colleague, I would like to share some suggestions and possible solutions for the issues you mentioned.
We have to use a unique identifier to match between the records, as described in the following section of the doc. Only then can we connect the original taxonomy terms and their translations.
I followed the instructions you have send, but with no success. The languges are imported. The parent import and ID defined, but the taxonomies are not synchronizing. In the taxonomy translator they are in the right language, but all separated (not synch..
).
On the synchronization site I become only some default pool with instructions.
I apologize for the delay in responding. I will take care of this ticket; the reply time will be shorter now.
Please try using WPML Export and Import instead of WPML All Import. I noted you have both installed. WPML All Import is a legacy plugin. For better functionality and support, we recommend using our new WPML Export and Import plugin.
you are right, in the meantime a found out, that it only works with the term meta informations.
I also discovered, that I must synchronize the items, after I import all 4 languages. If I run the synchronization only with two langs, and then import the next, the meta informations are already deleted and it does not work. Am I right?
The same goes for deleted items of one language and later reimport. It does not synchronize either.
Can the meta terms be stored also for later synchronizations?
Yes, when the process is completed, the extra data is cleaned.
I suggest reimporting the translations but including the original; there should be an option to ignore existing products when updating so it's not overwritten. I think this workflow may work.
