Background of the issue:
I have translated my website from English to several other languages using WPML. I am using Elementor to create text areas with dynamic tags. I mostly work with automated translations, but I also try to translate manually. The issue can be seen on this page: hidden link

Symptoms:
Some text areas created with Elementor with dynamic tags are not translated. In the example, 'Canada' is the dynamic tag. The translation works for the first paragraph but is ignored for the second paragraph. Even when I try to translate manually, I don't see these strings. Outdated translations appear in string translations but do not show on the front end.

Questions:
Why are some dynamic tags not translated in Elementor text areas?
How can I update outdated translations in string translations?

Hi,

It seems you experience the following known issue: Elementor - Not Possible To Translate Elementor Form Field Labels with Dynamic Tags.

Please check this erratum page. The workaround is to translate this page manually, as explained in this guide:

https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/using-different-translation-editors-for-different-pages/

Regards,
Itamar.

Hi, this does not resolve my issue. I don't use a fallback value, and if I do, this does not matter. And I want all the pages to be the same.

The two first paragraphs on the indicated page are structured the same, but only the first is translated properly and the second is not.

Hi, and thanks for trying my suggestions.

Can you please help us replicate this issue?

We need to replicate this issue on a fresh WordPress installation. Then, I'll be able to escalate it to our compatibility team. For this, I created a test website with a clean WordPress install. You can access it through this link:

hidden link

With this link, you'll be directly logged in.

I've installed Elementor Pro on this test site. WPML is configured to have English as the default language and Dutch as the second language.

Please let us know when everything is finished and you can replicate the problem.

Important! Do not import your site to the test site. We must replicate the problem on a fresh, clean WordPress installation.

Thanks,
Itamar.

Hi, thanks, on the Sample page I tried to replicate this, but there are two reasons why I could not do this so far:
- First of all I don't have the problem in all cases. Part of the translations with a dynamic tag in it go fine, others don't. Now both samples go fine.
- On my website I use JetEngine to create additional Meta fields, which I try to include in the text areas. JetEngine is not available in this test setting at this moment.

Do you have the option of adding JetEngine to the test environment?

Hi,

Thanks for your continued effort in replicating the issue on the test site.

The following Crocoblock plugins are officially compatible with WPML.

https://wpml.org/developer/crocoblock/

We cooperate well with Crocoblock, so if there is a compatibility issue, we will work with them to fix it.

I've installed the following three plugins on the test site. These are the plugins I see installed on your site.

JetEngine
JetMenu
JetSmartFilters

Are you able to replicate the problem now?

Regards,
Itamar.
