This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:

The client is experiencing an error message 'Unable to register: Site key not matching' when attempting to register their site with WPML using a generated site key.

Solution:

1. Visit https://wpml.org/account/sites/
2. If the site URL is already registered, delete it from the list.
3. Re-enter the site URL to generate a new site key.
4. Click on "Show key" and copy the new site key.
5. Navigate to Plugins > Install > Commercial (tab) and enter the new key to re-register WPML. If WPML is still registered, de-register it first.

If you're experiencing this issue, we recommend following these steps to resolve it. However, this solution might be outdated or not applicable to your specific case. We highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Background of the issue:
I am trying to register my site with WPML. I created a site key for 'hidden link'.

Symptoms:
I am receiving an error message: 'Unable to register: Site key not matching' when inserting the generated key.

Questions:
Should I have created a site key for 'hidden link' instead of 'hidden link'?

Hello,

WPML must be re-registered after every website migration or after changing the domain or domain provider.

1) Go to https://wpml.org/de/account/websites/

2) If the site URL is already registered, delete it from the list.

3) Now enter the site URL again. This creates a new site key.

4) Click on "Show key" and copy it.

5) Enter the key under Plugins > Install > Commercial (tab) to re-register WPML. If WPML is still registered here, de-register it first.

If the problem persists, please let me know.

Best regards
Andreas

Hi,

thanks for contacting us.

You're trying to register Toolset, not WPML, from the screenshot you sent. That's why you're getting the error.

The WPML registration mask looks like the one in the screenshot, and it's at the top of the page.

Aaah yes. It was the wrong place to insert they key 🙂

I had to unregister and re register, then I could insert correct key.
