Hello,
could you please help me understanding what's the best way to make wpml work?

I usually create a new listing in Italian, update everything and then I hit duplicate and translate button.

But when I try to update some fields into the listing in italian, some changes are not reflected. Not all properties of the listing are updated in the translation.

How to make a single change in one listing?
What's the best procedure to avoid any issues for the creation?

Sometimes we see that works, but sometimes if we for example, create the listing in english and then try to update the italian one the updates are not working.

Could you please help us?

Thanks

Hi there,

Thank you for contacting WPML support, I'd be happy to help you with this issue.

I see the default language on your site is Italian (IT) and the secondary language is English (EN) so the translation workflow should be creating the post/page in the IT language and translating it to the EN language.

If you do not see the translation triggered to update (circle arrows icon) after changing some custom fields value in the default language, you can try to make a small change to the post title/content like a space > save changes and update the translation.

According to the debug log, I see you are using the theme WPRentals, you can also read more about how to work with WPML in their documentation hidden link

Look forward to your reply.
Thanks

Thanks that's what I thought for the creation.
But can you guide me on the updates? We don't want to update the listing twice or on both languages.

Hi,

Thank you for your feedback.

Can you please share some screenshots of when you translate the listing?

If you translate the listing manually, you have to update the content in both languages. Please read more on the documentation https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/using-different-translation-editors-for-different-pages/

I would recommend using the Advanced Translation Editor to translate anything on your site, please read more on the documentation https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/advanced-translation-editor/

Look forward to your reply.
Thanks

I am updating the city fee ("tassa di soggiorno") from the dashboard in the italian version. The english version still has the old value.
Is there a way to have that value shared? Like we do for the calendar for example.

Hi,

Thank you for your feedback.

It looks like custom fields created by the theme. If yes, please follow the documentation below to set the custom field preference to copy and share value from the original post to the translation.

If it does not help, I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to take a better look at the issue. It would be better to a testing site where the issue is replicated. Your next reply is set to private to share the info.
