This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem:
The client needs guidance on how to use WPML on a subdomain to prepare for a future migration, ensuring all translations and the website are perfectly optimized.
Solution:
We recommend using the development keys included in your WPML license to mark your new site as a "development" site. This allows you to work on the site without affecting your live environment. For more details, please visit: WPML Development and Production Sites.
Once your project is ready to go live, you can change the site status to "production." The translation process will remain the same throughout this transition. To learn more about managing translations during this phase, please check: Using Advanced Translation Editor during site migration.
If this solution does not fully address your issue, or if it seems outdated, we highly recommend checking related known issues at WPML Known Issues, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Should you need further assistance, please do not hesitate to open a new support ticket at WPML Support Forum.
